As a snowboarder coming from the mainland, I was in search for a rad local surf/snow shop.When we walked there was no employee around to asked us if we needed help, dude was on his phone in the back.Not the best vibes to say the least, for a store that’s been around for 30 years you’d expect more down to earth and or friendly employees.I’ve been in plenty of surf/snow shops from new zealand to mont tremblant. And I’ve never seen such a sad shop. Seemed like such a cool shop, maybe I’ll give another chance when I’m in town.

I attended to Coastline on June 14.2023 and Mike Redpath (pillar in surfing community for close to 30 years) helped find me a new perfect fit winter suit .No thrills , no gimmicks , no up-sell.. just straight up knowledgable man .I returned june 16.2023 and had 3 line staff help my wife and i buy a long board , board bag , gloves , boots etc all while keeping our 13 week baby mini shepard "Bear" occupied as we shopped. I dont know how else to compliment a store , its owner and its staff for such great experiences ? service and product knowledge . I will never order surf gear online again.Regards ,Scott Buckborough

Great shop - great selection - cool peeps - Mike, Drew, Bianca, Eve (sorry if the spelling's off) - all really down to earth people with a passion for the surf culture/tribe. Usually decent parking right off Broad St. Competitive pricing, and whatever isn't in shop, they'll do their best to get it ordered and ordered quickly.

Drew knows his stuff. What a great shopping experience! If anyone wants to learn how to service a customer, this is the place to experience it. Incredible product knowledge and such patience in explaining everything in order to make a great purchase. Strongly recommended. And it didn’t hurt that the pricing was 30% off. I will be back. This is my go to shop for all my surf related purchases. Everyone is very friendly, knowledgeable and experienced. I have had the shop go out of their way a few times to help me one way or another and to me this is why I always prefer to shop locally rather the. Online. I fully recommend this shop and thanks to coastline and the staff for always providing a great experience!

I purchased a new standup paddleboard from coastline. Staff were great: friendly and helpful. I had a little problem with the size and Mike, the owner, sorted it out. Highly recommend coming here for your SUP needs.

I have never experienced service like I experienced at Coastline. Wow. 6 months ago I took a surf lesson in Mexico. After getting back to Canada, I went to Coastline knowing nothing except that I was now obsessed with surfing. I was floored to realize I had spent *2.5 hours* in the store that day, the whole time receiving one on one help and advice in choosing a board, a wetsuit, gloves and booties. I am not a big spender. It was all stuff on the cheaper end that I was buying. But it didn't matter- I was treated like a friend. They patiently answered my 10, 000 questions. I felt welcome and even more than that, valued as a person who shared in their passion, despite my limited experience.The advice I received at Coastline was accurate and gamechanging.6 months in and this board helps me catch endless waves; winter or summer, and as I advance.My suit is so warm I never get out of the water from being cold.I opted for the soft-soled boots, and just like they warned me but I ignored, they're horrible for rocky Sombrio and JR ?I see why this shop has been around so long.Could not appreciate these people more.Thank you for the gear, wisdom, and kind welcome to an activity that I fall more in love with every day!

I can't recommend Coastlines enough. We've made three trips to the store in the last few months to buy cold water gear and each time got standout service. The staff are all great - friendly, knowledgeable, always happy to go above and beyond. They're also really welcoming to total beginners. A special shout out to the two female staff members who helped me get the right wetsuit when I was struggling super hard with unexpected claustrophobia. They were so kind and full of great advice. Thanks!

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff! Took my buddy to get a snowboard / binding set up back in November and they set him up with a beautiful kit! At a very good price.Just popped in to get some new bindings for my own board. It's nice to have a board shop in Victoria with a good selection!

I've found the owner Mike to be quite arrogant and condescending on several occasions, as many privileged white people are in this area of the world. I would recommend to not support his shop and support indigenous shops.
