Eddie Bauer's quality and warranty has declined over the years. Purchased a down jacket and after 1.5 years of use (rarely using the zipper), I could not fit the plastic zipper insert into the slider. I took it to the store and the manager said it was due to a crack from use, which was not covered under the warranty. He then proceeded to forcibly jam the insert into the zipper slide and tore it, damaging it to the point where I would now need to replace the entire zipper. Do yourself a favor and purchase from an established outdoor brand like MEC, Patagonia, etc.

This store is just misleading. When you see a sign that says up to 40% off Entire Store you would assume that everything is on some sort of discount, even a measly 5%. But of course i go in and the pants I want are on at full price. Yes 0% is up to 40%.. Technically correct but incredibly misleading. If it didn't say "entire store" it wouldn't be so bad. I've got good deals in there before but you folks can do better than that sort of cheap tactic to get people in. Writing this because of my wasted time on my lunch hour. Will just go to REI where they never really have deals but they don't do this.

There is one thing that I don't like about the way the items are priced at Eddue Bauer. They have the US$ price as well as a CAN$ price. The Canadian $ price is always about $30 more than the US price which makes me feel a bit ripped off. Just post the Canadian price so we Canadians don't feel so bad!

Used to be an Eddie Bauer fanboy, but I'll never buy EB again. Won't honour return policy as stated on website. Low quality clothing. Yes, very comfy but don't be fooled. I bought Eddie Bauer due to the comfort and the "amazing quality guarantee." I bought 3 pairs of pants, 3 pairs of shorts and a down jacket. Over $500 in items. Every single one of them was falling apart well within the range where clothes of this price point should, some within 2 or 3 wearings. The website says that if you return items over a year old and/ or without receipt that have workmanship or defect issues that you can only return for an exchange. The store stated that they don't recognize this and only return items that were purchased within 1 year and with proof of purchase. I have this in writing. The lady literally said that the website says that but they've been instructed not to honour it.Issues: 1) stitching around pockets fail. This is a high wear area. Don't use the cheapest stitching method known to mankind. 2) zippers. Extremely cheap zippers. Don't buy a $250 down jacket expecting it to last more that 2 years. Like zippers in your pants that fall down faster than the acceleration of gravity? Buy Eddie Bauer.

Great store and selection. But the cashiers have an attitude.The cashier (manager) weaselled out of a warranty replacement. He tried to use every possible excuse to decline a warranty (no receipt, claiming an item is older than a year, claiming that a poorly stocked pocket seam is wear and tear, and finally saying that they don’t carry a “similar item” because the colour of my jacket was different than what they had in stock). I wouldn’t bat an eye on this but Eddie Bauer online policy clearly indicates, they will exchange a defective item without a receipt for a similar item, even if the item is olden than a year.To the management: just tell your customers you’re too cheap to follow the company policy and save your customers time and parking money.
