Staff arguing with each other in front of me over who was going to have to help me with a super easy transaction for luxury cosmetics when I knew exactly what I wanted. Treated me with disdain. Overall took half an hour to get help. Found myself apologizing for wanting to buy something, and leaving feeling awful. I honestly have no idea how this store is still open. I’m not one to leave bad reviews, but this was one of the worst interactions of my life. How poorly are you treating your employees, HBC?

We used to shop at The Bay.Our recent experience was not that great.Found out that they do not have much selection of affordable men's long sleeve white shirts. The limited ones that they have are way too expensive: $70 and up.

Long story short ordered sofas three months ago and were supposed to be delivered today after multiple delays. Didn’t hear anything so go in and spoke to sales associate.She tells me no deliveries are happening on the island rn I could go pick it up myself (at my own expense) but, “ it’s the heaviest thing on the sales floor right now. But for heavy people it’s a great option,” and that my best option is to wait as the issue would be resolved “soon.” I ask her what “soon” means and she says to let her find out. Then this woman picks up the phone and fake calls (talking into the receiver with her finger on the hang up switch) and says, “Hi ____, here. Any word on deliveries to the island? No, ok.” She prints off my invoice and vanishes into the department.I wasn’t rude or aggressive I was just looking for some answers. It felt as though because I was smart and shopped the sale and got a really good deal that she was not interested in helping me. She seemed not to be keen on me before I even said hello though. It’s a shame because the gentleman that helped me at first was lovely and the customer service person on the phone I spoke to later was as well.I don’t think the deal I got on the sofas was worth the hassle I’ve been dealing with. Let alone the blatant rude treatment. Very disappointed.

What is going on with the Bay? Never any stock. Brands come and go. The place is barren and desolate looking.So disappointed. I love brands like Lauren RL but there is never any decent size selections. So sad to see our last truly national department store in such poor shape. We want to shop there but we need stuff worth buying!

Simi at Clinique is a walking Angel! She is so kind, Helpful and just an all around beautiful soul. We love ordering from her. She ships everything to our house and slips in little samples and bonuses.We have been ordering from her for so many years and have got to know her so well that we consider her an extended part of our family!!!!

I just wanted to leave a positive Google review for Vanny at the Estée Lauder counter at the Bay Mayfair as I’ve been trying to get ahold of the Christian Dior cosmetics counter for over a week now and nobody ever picks up ? I did speak to the manager George once who was an absolute delight and he took my info as I was looking for something specific but I’m now looking for other items and don’t want to waste my time and energy finding parking and fighting the holiday traffic if they don’t have what I’m looking for. Finally today after calling the Dior counter 3 separate times I called the Estée Lauder to find out what’s going on since I couldn’t get anyone on the phone in over a week ? A lovely lady by the name of Vanny answered and explained that they don’t always have someone at those counters but he should be in tomorrow morning, first thing. I asked what the best time to call since it’s the holiday season and she said between 10-12pm and she went out of her way to give me their exact extension number which was very kind of her. She was extremely helpful and went above and beyond to help me even though I wasn’t buying anything from her counter. I really appreciate people like her in sales who truly care about customer service and actually enjoy helping customers to their best of ability. I certainly know who I will be looking for to shop with if I ever need something from Estée Lauder. She deserves to be recognized and I hope Estée Lauder knows what a wonderful gem they have in Vanny with her excellent customer service skills and I bet she’s great at sales too. The reason I took the time to write this is because it’s becoming harder and harder and much more rare to come across genuinely kind hearted people in the sales industry who go above and beyond for no reason at all other than to just provide excellent customer service. Thank you Vanny for making the end of my day that much brighter and I hope Estée Lauder sees this and makes a point of thanking you for representing their brand so positively and wonderfully. I hope you have a wonderful holiday season and if I ever make it down to the makeup counters at the Bay,, Mayfair I’ll say hello and introduce myself. Wishing you all the best now and in 2024. Thank you again for your kindness and exceptional customer service. A+ 5 stars⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ no question!! Not too pleased with the Dior counter however but when I was able to speak with George who introduced himself as the manager he was a lovely man with excellent customer service skills as well. I guess they just don’t have someone at the Dior counter all the time due to it not being busy enough? Cheers to you both

I went to get my watch resized. It was done fast, and the guy was super friendly. I was only charged 16 bucks. Heads up, if you get a resizing here, he will give you a free visit for the rest of the month. In case you want to resize it again. Would definitely recommend to anyone who needs a watch repaired or sized. Thanks man! 5/5

Nice department store, but way too few employees/shop assistants to help you out or answer any questions. I had to ask a maintenance worker for directions to a certain department. I guess Amazon and other online retailers are strangling this Canadian brick & mortar company just as much as they do in the US of A.

Great shopping trip. Went for new bra after 3-5 yrs, was heped by a wonderful lady who advised size and style. That was a stress free shop. Upstairs 2 pillows at a fantastic price & HBC mugs with insignia socks for $3.97, 1 for me 1 for hubby at that price. A great cheerer upper on a tense day.

Felt Racially Discriminated!Walked into the jewellery section this evening on Oct 30th 2023. The saleslady at the counter profiled us and was least interested in helping us as she went about doing her job. When she finally approached us, we asked about discounts on Tissot watches in-store versus online. She kept saying “you can only get the discount if you have Bay rewards/membership” to which I replied that we are members and it will not be a problem. But she condescendingly replied that “you have to prove it” and ended the conversation as if I was lying.Another customer with a “Canadian accent” came right after and asked the same questions as we did. This time, the saleslady became very engaging with that customer and asked if they have Bay rewards/membership. Even before the customer could answer, she said she will help them sign up for membership/rewards even if they don’t have it.Felt like a second class human being and left humiliated. Funny enough the other guy bought a cheap watch whereas I was in for a luxury one.
