Second time there and it certainly did not disappoint. The only downside is I don’t live closer. I will be back.

Nice spot in the James Bay district of Victoria. While on vacation we decided to have lunch here. The parking lot was crowded but there were some spots around the rear of the Inn immediately across from the ground floor Pub entrance, great because my wife was experiencing some difficulty with a knee injury and a barrier free ingress/egress made it easier. Great food, chose the Clubhouse platter and a Salad along with a local craft beer. Quick service from the only wait staff on duty who was friendly and is a great asset to the Pub's profitability. Almost a 'Cheers' environment with many local tradespeople stopping for lunch too. $$$

Spent the day there to watch the superbowl. Great service, drink prices are reasonable and the food was good! But I will say, you can't advertise that you are throwing up a Super Bowl "party" if you refuse to have any volume on during the game. It's what makes the event great, the crowd, and the momentum shifts. The whole place wanted it but nothing the servers could do, clearly the decision was made was above their heads. It doesn't need to be cranked up to have the place half deaf by the end but a bit of volume to hear the announcers would of been great!

This place makes their servers pay for tables that dine and dash, which is illegal. Save your money for a place that follows labour laws.

Without a doubt, I adore this location. The check-in process was incredibly time- and labor-saving. In addition to being great, the staff was really helpful. In all seriousness, the hotel itself is really Victorian. The room had a really warm and inviting atmosphere. It is a beautiful little restaurant and pub that is located in the basement, which is quite accessible. Additionally, it was a very short walk from the ferry, which was a plus for the location. Everything may be reached on foot through strolling. Restaurants, bars, and anything else you can think of will probably return to this location. I will most certainly be coming back.

Great atmosphere for a neighborhood pub. Love the mix of traditional and sports bar.

We have been visiting JBI for years, on a weekly basis when the Sunday Night Football season is in play. Its definitely a pub where many of the faces are the same locals who come daily or weekly. They make possibly the best dry ribs in town. Prices are reasonable. The serving staff (whom we have also known for years) have our table at the ready and the bar tender always know what drinks we want to start with. Parking can get filled pretty quick as this is also an Inn, although most of the locals walk in. It can get a bit noisy. The on tap beer selection highlights products from a couple of the local breweries (Hoynes, Lighthouse). The specific taps are OK, but I personally don't think they highlight the best the breweries have to offer.

Some what enjoyed the Thanksgiving turkey plate that included stuffing, mashed potatoes & gravy & cranberry sauce, yellow beets & carrots. The pumpkin pie with whip cream was lack luster and small in size; similar to an average food store type. I also had a IOTA NA beer. The wait staff was attentive. The ambiance wasn’t bad save for a homeless or very unkept guy milling about with his own odor. I guess it’s all a challenge but it doesn’t help the visiting paying customers relax. The mens washroom was clean. With 20% tip, the bill was little over $50 CAD.

Had a great time. The alcohol prices were so reasonable. The service was awesome. The food was really good. The fries were hot and delicious. I had the BLT but in a wrap. It was a little small but tasty. We plan to back in a couple weeks for brunch! My Mom loves waffles. This will probably be my and husband’s go to place. The prices for alcohol are so good. Every where we’ve been lately is pricey I don’t drink. My hubby and mom have a beer on tap which is ok. Anyway I’d say give it a try. We had a very nice time.

We stayed just one night, but really enjoyed the hotel and staff. The room was small, but neat, with a surprisingly large bathroom for a good rate. We had many questions for Anmol, who was very helpful and fun to talk with. She helped us map our transportation and kept us laughing as well! Another staff member, Hedy , was very gracious and also very helpful. They had no problem with storing our excess luggage and marking it properly for recovery when we returned. It seemed appropriate that a venerable and charming place has such gracious staff there. It's a very cool place in a charming neighborhood and having confidence in the staff will bring us back.

We've been coming here for years and the food and service have always been great. Like everywhere else, they have been faced by increased prices, and so you can expect some increases. This has happened but some of the increases have been OTT! The stir fry used to be $16? and is now $20, a 25% increase. If you wanted chicken added, the $6 extra is now a mind boggling $10! I don't know how much the fish and chips used to be , but now a single piece and chips is $23, two piece and chips is $28, but an extra piece is $15! What!

I felt really at home here. It feels like a real pub. Friendly without being pushy. Good range of local beers and my wife enjoyed a Chardonay and an excellent chowder. As an aside they had two dart boards that were in use. I would happily visit again.
