Very pleasant and helpful service. And they still stock single use cameras! I was happy to see that.

One of the last great film labs in Canada. Staff are friendly and the turn around on film is pretty fast.

I’ve used Prism for years. Not only do they have great service, but their photo quality is incredible (high resolution, 35mm). I’ve moved away from Victoria and I still send them my film. They are flexible, speedy and just generally great!

The staff here are the absolute best, and they create beautiful scans. I've never been disappointed with the results, and they're so communicative if any issues arise. Support your local film labs!

I found the staff at Prism to be wonderfully helpful, knowledgeable and really quick in their processing of my film! this was the first time I'd used a lab in Victoria and my first time at Prism and it was a good experience overall. Well-priced and quick turnaround, with good high-quality scans that came within a week to dropbox without issue. However, the reason I'm giving three stars is that despite the positives of the experience, they cross-processed my E-6 slide film as C41 colour negative film. This wasn't want I wanted nor expected (since the canister itself says E-6 and I paid for E-6 I assumed that's what I would get). However, after calling them, the person at the front desk told me that they couldn't process E-6 slide film and instead do it as C41 and then "colour edit" the scans. They said it was because their equipment was "too old" for slide film which is odd considering its an almost identical process to C41. The result was that almost every shot was shifted very hard to the green side of the tinting scale and was considerably darker than it should have been, even properly metered and exposed shots. The scans made it look like I was shooting downtown during a dark and rainy day in the middle of January, and not a bright sunny day in April. The thing that bothered me a bit was that they didn't tell me that they couldn't do E-6 processing when I brought the roll in. I would've taken it somewhere that could do slide film colour reversal if I had known that at the onset. Now I wouldn't normally be terribly upset by this if it was accidental, cross-processing is cool, but when it happened intentionally and I wasn't told I feel like I spent almost as much on processing and scanning as I did on film (Kodak Ektacrhome at ~$30 a roll) and got something back that I didn't want/pay for. Again, accidents do happen, but this felt misleading as they said that this is a normal procedure and made zero mention of it to me at the onset. So now I've got a roll of cross-processed slide film that I would kind of consider not "ruined" per se, but definitely "damaged". It hurt a little more as it was a special occasion splurge roll and now I'm more or less out for it entirely. The shots did come out but would've been worlds better had they been processed correctly.I wouldn't say to avoid them, they're good! But if you shoot slide Velvia or Ektachrome and want it processed correctly, they seem to not be able to do that so I would either process it at home or find another lab that can do it. I'm a little disappointed this happened and I probably won't be returning as a result (even to pick up my negatives that should've been positives). They did tell me when I dropped it off that if nothing comes out or anything happens that they'd give me a credit on my next order, but seeing as I tend to do slide film photography when I shoot film, I don't see that being viable. They also didn't offer this option or anything else in the way of compensation when I called and just sort of said "yeah sorry that's just what we do with slide film" which also hurt a bit, especially being out $60 or so for the roll and processing. This is how we learn I guess.TLDR: if you shoot colour negative film or black and white, they're probably excellent, if you do slide film, find a different place to process your stuff unless you want your 'nice bright colours' to be overblown on the "greens of summers" side of things.

They are very kind and understanding, and also have a quick turn around! One of the best places that I have developed film at. :)

I had a frustrating visit last year with Prism and left a one star review. I needed some rolls developed quickly this week and thought I'd try them again. Their staff is always very courteous and helpful. I thought I'd try them again this past week and was not disappointed. I hope to keep visiting.

I've brought hundreds of rolls of both colour and BW 35mm film here (been coming since 2015) and I've never been disappointed. Kindest staff who work really hard and know their stuff.

Prism used to be my go-to for film processing and scanning, however after my last two trips in I will no longer be letting these incompetent fools touch my negatives. The staff do not know which films can and cannot be scanned by their equipment, and did not let me know when my development order could not be filled. My negatives were cut when I asked for them to be left as a roll, and I was given someone else's scans. The only positive is that the roll was developed correctly, which I can do myself.
