I have been a client of Rand Automotive since I moved to Victoria seven years ago. I so appreciate that this is a family owned business. They work hard at continually improving to keep ahead of the curve on emerging technologies in the industry and in enhancing customer service and satisfaction. I appreciate greatly that they take the time to explain the repairs they are doing on my two vehicles in words I can understand. Five years ago they found an issue in my Mini Cooper that they noticed was on recall from the company and still under warranty. The discovery saved me over 2000.00. I had taken the vehicle to three other repair services prior and not one was able to tell me what was wrong. Since then service has always been superior. I highly recommend the team at Rand.

I have a 2012 Toyota Rav4 EV (Rav4 with Tesla drive train), and it's been very tough to find anyone to repair it. I finally found the good people at Rand. They went above and beyond to diagnose and repair my car (including liaising with another shop on the Lower Mainland for advice and resources), and then they washed and detailed it! To top it off their prices are very reasonable. All of this with warm hearts and kindness. A genuinely excellent experience!

Trouble free experience. Pricing was the same as the Dealer quoted for the same work, which kind of surprised me. Most assume Dealerships to be more expensive, but not in this case. Nice job of detailing the interior and washing the car. Appreciate that. Will use again.

I cannot recommend this place enough! I brought my car downtown for what I thought was a transmission issue to another mechanic who looked at it for 10 minutes and then told me they couldn't help me. I was freaked out about driving it 35 minutes home (it felt like it would imminently explode), so called around. Although they didn't have availability to look at it for a few days, the very kind people at Rand told me they'd keep it safe at their shop until they could fit it in. When they did take a look at it and determine the problem, they took the time to explain everything and were very clear about my options. My car is now running better than it has in years and I feel like I paid a very fair price for it. Also, everyone I spoke to here is absolutely delightful - cheerful, kind and patient.

I told them I needed a battery control module from a previous diagnosis. I was told they have to do their own diagnostics.I said fair enough. They found multiple other problems totalling in the thousands of dollars, but no problem with the control module. I was also told there would likely be more work needed once the first bit of work was cleared up. I declined the work and replaced the control module myself, problem solved, no more codes?

Had to get an out of province car inspection, and people on Reddit pointed me here. They were helpful walking me through everything when booking, and turned the car around real quick on the day. Would trust them again, which I feel is a rare thing to say about a car mechanic shop. I suppose Reddit never lies.

let me start by saying that I run a couple of automotive repair facilities in Vancouver and that we strive to create positive enjoyable experience for every guest that comes through our doors. Its not always easy because lets face it, no one enjoys spending money on their car and it is never enjoyable giving someone the bad news. Recently my daughter who is attending UVIC had car problems and as you can imagine I felt helpless which is a horrible situation to be in when it comes to your own children. I know one person on the island so of course I had to lean on him for help. When asked if he knew a trustworthy shop where my daughter could bring her vehicle he without hesitation recommended Rand Automotive. He mentioned that it was a family owned and operated business and that it was full of great people. Long story short they took great care of my daughter and managed to get her back on the road safe and sound at a great price. Thank you to Gerry and the entire team for knowing what true customer service is and for being one of the few that still insist on providing it. I am eternally grateful.

I've been taking my vehicles to Rand since about 2003. They always stand by their work and are super easy to work with. I have never felt as though they rush a job and get me out the door, rather they take the time to really assess and then inform me of any issues and then discuss what I would like to do. I guess the main thing is I trust them.

I've dealt with Rand a few times now and every time they have been great.
I own a BMW x3, which I bought from a dealership. After dealing with dealerships, other mechanics without the experience to work on German imports and a few other charlatans, I have to say Rand has been a breath of fresh air.
The cost of services is always fair and transparent. I've never felt like they were trying to sell me anything I didn't need and they're patient and ready to talk, rather than just tell.
100% recommend for anyone with a BMW or other European import. Plus—the free car wash with the service is a great bonus!

As a girl it is hard to find mechanics you can trust and rand have been extremely patient with me and my car, they explain the issues in depth and will never push extra work to be done. This is the only mechanic I will go to in Victoria. Love them! Special shoutout to Kevin
