I opened a single credit card account with Scotia for specific benefits on recurring purchases and I have had nonstop issues with them over it for the last 6 months. The advisor I worked with in this branch was the one that created the issue and, though the clerks I've seen since then have been lovely, none have been able to sort out the issue.Huge headache.

The teller I dealt with was very rude and unhelpful.

This branch is the BAD APPLE for this normally amazing company. Absolutely useless, rude, clueless, unknowledgable staff. Wouldn't trust any one of them to put coins into a piggy bank. Harsh... yes. But this needs to be said. My wife said a male staff was rude to her last time she was in there. I went in with a problem with my account and the staff looked blank at me and said "well... I don't know how to fix that? Maybe someone else might?" But then just started helping the next person person!!!. But why I'm seriously ticked off, is because I'm thousands of dollars out of pocket because the staff do not understand the difference between a "Personal" account and a "Business" account. Because simply, I found out that they are unable to provide any assistance with business accounts (that's fine, apparently the Business Manager/Manager/Assistant Manager can) but instead they gave me mis-information and now I'm out $6.5K and my clients are looking at me for being incompetent when I trusted this branch for banking.!!!!!

Worst bank experience ever.i was accused employee named by Sebastian being uneducated.he likes to put his nose where it does not belong.if your teller does not know how to engage with people who provide you business you may want to train them well before putting them in front line.they litterally don't know how to count money by hand.he skipped at least 4 times while he was counting.bad attitude on top of it.i was originally banking with Shelburne location and never had such a negative experience.they should not have close that branch.

Arguably the worst branch I’ve dealt with period. Scotia bank is usually quite helpful and easy to deal with but this location sucks, ABMs never have cash and deposits are rarely accepted through them, staff don’t offer much help besides calling help lines and looking online for solutions. much better off going to literally any other location, should have left the shelbourne location open.

The staff was really helpful and the manager specially took time to help me out and answered all the questions and resolved my issue. It was quick and good experience.

Extremely helpful and friendly staff. Special mention for Shelly; she went out of her way to help me and sorted an appointment before I had even spoken to the teller.

I have had nothing but problems dealing with the Hillside Branch. Last advisor refused to let me renew my mortgage early even though I was within the "early renew" window. Latest advisor will not return my emails. The online appointment booking system doesn't work and phone calls are not returned. I am very unhappy with the way I have been treated.

If you are dealing with any mortgage concerns or problems you should ask for Brandon Seabloom at the Hillside branch. He is extremely knowledgeable, professional and easy to talk to. I have had mixed experiences with Scotiabank representatives in the past but my experience with Brandon was wonderful. I would consider getting another mortgage with Scotiabank solely because of Brandon.

The agents are definitely only interested in opening new accounts with no interest in following up. Perhaps because it was only a small TFSA, he had absolutely no interest in getting back to me. In addition, he was quick to slam my other bank but gave no indication of how Scotiabank was better. The customer service is severely lacking. Will be closing my account and doing all my banking through my original bank.

I went there for a bank statement this afternoon, and their front desk man told me they gonna charge $120 for my 6 months’ bank statements of 4 of my accounts!!!!!!! I double checked this with my immigration agent, and I was told this kind of docs should be free. So I went back to the bank again and showed him one of the sample that my agent gave me. And I was told yes they do charge $120 for the bank statements. And he said, if I print those out myself, he’ll be able to seal them for me with no charge. AND HE SAID, I CANT JUST SPEND MY WHOLE DAY PRINTING OUT THESE DOCS FOR YOU, that’s why we charge. Oh what??? I’ve beenbanking with Scotia for 5 years and Scotia wont ‘waste’ 5 minutes to print out some docs for me?!!!! $120 for bank statements, that’s crazy. I’m so disappointed and you know what, for printing out bank statements, RBC is free, CIBC is free, all other banks are free!!

Impossible to reach by phone. In many attempts, I’ve always been shunted to the national help line (and a 15min hold).Beyond that, I’ve have several unfortunate interactions with the assistant branch manager (the manager is rarely around). She seems to go out of her way to make things difficult rather than look for solutions. It’s all very disappointing, as the tellers are always polite and helpful; very professional. And kudos to Wendy, who often goes out of her way to help.
