A pretty shop on Oak Bay Avenue curating a wide survey of ceramics, wood, mixed media, jewelry and works of art by British Columbia artists. While on vacation we stopped by Side Street for a hostess gift. Jill is the sixth owner of this gallery and she provided a brief history of the gallery and we discovered we grew up in the same area in Southern Ontario. Prices suited for any budget but very competitive. We forgot to ask but we hope Side Street hosts events to showcase resident artist's works. Gift wrapping available upon request. On-street parking available andRoute 2/5/8 bus routes pass by the shop.

Disappointed in this store. I purchased a soap dish and a bar of soap. The dish had a sticker price of 16.98 on the back, the soap a sticker price of 5.50. At checkout I was charged 29.69 I was charged 8.50 for the soap and charged 18.00 for the soap dish. Upon leaving the store I realized this when I went to check the price sticker the young lady at the checkout counter had removed the stickers. Seems really shady to me. Leaving a very bad review because I believe it's deserved. Adding 4.00 extra dollars into my order when the price was clearly visible on the sticker then removing the sticker at checkout is very very dishonest. They were never asked to remove pricing stickers why do that? 4.00 may not seem like lots of money but it is too some & besides its the principle.

Fabulous selection of gifts! Everything from painted canvases, inlaid wood boxes, silver jewellry, pottery, greeting cards and vases. A little busy so plan on spending time looking around. Love this shop!

Nice store, so I spent $80. The owner then got weird when I went to take the picture for this review and wouldn’t say why. If you don’t want people to see your wares, why are you running a business? It kinda wrecked the experience. To the owners: Trust your customers and don’t be skeptical of people that just finished giving you money.

Absolutely gorgeous products at a wonderful studio. Thank you Jill for the gorgeous art work, books and cards that arrived safely here in Sydney, Australia. The parcel was so wonderfully wrapped that even though it’s rainy weather here( though it’s supposed to be Summer!) my parcel was safe and sound and dry in its bubble wrap. Blessings galore from Oz xxx

Jill and Kathy at The Side Street Studio went above and beyond in helping me organize a wedding gift for someone in Victoria when covid travel restrictions made it impossible to be there myself. The shop has a wonderful wide range of locally made gifts from which to choose!

I really enjoy this shop. While tiny, it is filled with many delights for the eye to explore! They have a beautiful varied selection of solely BC-made: jewelry, pottery and sculptures, wooden dishwares, soaps and things, cards, and so on.It's truly a delight to be able to support so many local artists by walking through one door.

Side Street Studio has long been a place to go to find a fabulous gift. Since the new ownership however it's become a little slice of heaven - bright and inviting, with every BC-made piece thoughtfully and lovingly selected and displayed. A rare gem of a shop.

Really nice little boutique. Original art work and craft work by artisans who live on the island. Staff is very nice and helpful and the selection is quite large. Affordable works in many different media.
