I like making a quick perusal at the Quadra/Mackenzie location before I get my groceries. When going anywhere near Cook Street and have some extra time, I stop in to the furniture and clothing shops.”

“Cute little store with lots in there considering the size. I was going to buy an item that was 1.50$ and didnt have change on me but was happy to pay with the card. The woman at the counter (I think the owner) said that it costs her too much for such a small transaction and just gave me the item!! I couldn't believe it. Such a nice gesture ✨️

“Very small and not easy for someone with a stroller or mobility needs to navigate comfortably. I love the store's mission to help those in need, so it is a good cause to shop for. But I'll be visiting the other WIN locations instead as I was disappointed by this one.”

Treasure hunting at its finest!
Every time I visit the Society of St. Vincent de Paul thrift store, I walk away feeling like I’ve just uncovered a hidden gem—and today was no exception! I found a vintage-style yellow Stitz tripod in excellent condition for a quarter of the price I saw listed online. It was such an exciting and unexpected score, and honestly, that kind of joy is exactly why I keep coming back.
The store itself is always tidy and welcoming, with items well-organized and easy to browse. It’s one of those places where you can take your time and genuinely enjoy the hunt for something special. And I always do—whether it’s unique homeware, vintage finds, or, in this case, photography gear!
The staff are consistently lovely—so kind, patient, and clearly passionate about what they do. You can tell there’s a real sense of community here. Their warm energy adds a lot to the experience and makes you want to come back just to say hello.
Parking is a breeze, which is a huge bonus for a thrift store. And the hours are so convenient—open Monday through Saturday, which makes popping in during a lunch break or weekend errand run very doable.
I’m so grateful for shops like this. Not only are they a sustainable alternative to shopping new, but they’re also supporting meaningful work in the community. Thank you to the whole team at St. Vincent de Paul for doing what you do—and for giving treasure hunters like me a reason to smile every visit!

“This chain of retails stores helps women in need. Unlike Kool aid or Pacifica they don't trailer to addicts and men's who have identified as women. Purely help women who are low income for clothes, and have several programs to help with domestic violence situations ect. The CEO Nicole is a very kind, compassionate human being who ensure that the organization is unlike the majority of organizations.

“I always visit VV before I hit the other stores. I needed a fitted sheet for my camper mattress and hit the bonus and found one complete with 2 pillow cases and for only $8.99. More importantly is the fact I am reusing and repurposing something. I'd rather buy used before anything brand new.”
