My wife purchased a Louis Vuitton bag from this store on December 18 for a Christmas gift. We attempted to verify the code inside the bag as the only authentication made by the store was a verbal, “ yes, of course it’s original”, nothing else. Louis Vuitton has a verification page on their site and indeed the code was “non-verifiable”. We called the Vuitton store in Vancouver and the manager confirmed that they don’t make any other statements other than “verified” or “non-verified”, he said non-verified confirms that the item was not made by Louis Vuitton. It’s a fake.
We attended the store in Oak Bay on December 20 and explained we just wanted our money back. We were initially told no refunds, no returns. They actual have a sign on the counter stating this and also another sign stating no abusive language would be tolerated. That was weird. The buyer tried to convince us that the”seller” confirmed authenticity but we stood our ground. He then took about ten minutes to talk to the “owner” and came back with how deeply offended she was. We were quite offended ourselves. We were then told that she would refund most of our money other than a “restocking fee” of $100. We agreed. It took another 30 minutes to get our refund. The bag she purchased was absolutely brand new, met the physical characteristics of a Vuitton bag but was a bit too new for 1991 vintage. That’s why we went for the “code” verification. We live up Island, so after wasting hours of our valuable time, we’re left with this forum. We called the police but they stated as we received a refund it is simply a civil matter. This store is bogus, run the other way.

Staff are usually great and friendly but the owner would fit a different category.
We visited the store recently with an intention to consign a few items and we were greeted with a condescending attitude followed by comments about the pieces we brought to the store (great condition and trendy items -Chloé, Boss and Wilfred etc). Statements about their insufficient value and the style of the pieces sounded very disrespectful. The lack of authenticity in owner's interaction and ultimately redirecting us to another "more suitable" consignment store for our items, left us with a strange and bitter feeling.
We have consigned at their Vancouver location, and have never been turned away through this form of depreciation, specifically towards the perceived value of the items we brought in.
We used to go and shop occasionally at this location, but we are no longer interested in being their customers.

Being a person of color is hard as is, it’s even worse when you are subject to profiling potentially. To understand why I feel like it was profiling., I’ll need to explain how the shop is laid out.
The women’s section is on the ground floor and the men’s section is on the bottom floor. Upon entering, I asked one of the employees where the men’s section was, and they directed me downstairs. Once I got downstairs, I realized I was the only person there. As I was browsing through the items, a sales associate also comes downstairs and starts rearranging items and making the place look neat and tidy. Prior to this she had been in the women’s section upstairs.
What’s surprising to me was that all the items already looked like they were arranged, folded or hung up properly. At the beginning, I dismissed the thought of profiling and what not and continued browsing through the items. Not once was, I asked by her, even though we were the only two people downstairs as well, whether I needed any help with anything, or if I was looking for a specific kind of item. She went through the same rack of clothes more than once. Always hovering.
After I finished looking at the items on display, I made my way upstairs and as soon as I got upstairs, she promptly came upstairs as well and started attending to a different customer.
I personally like giving the benefit of the doubt to someone I don’t know and like thinking the best of people. This experience although indirect, made me feel weird, singled out and unfairly judged.
EDIT: Changed review rating to 3/5 from 1/5. I really appreciate the prompt response and owning up to the mistake. It really does mean a lot and definitely changed my view on the store. Thanks! ☺️

The WORST shop experience!!! I got a fake item sold as a real one in an awful state and I wanted a refund which they wouldn’t give me!!! Never buying anything ever again and would NOT recommend!!!

WOST place to SHOP they are a buch of LIARS Joy the owner is rude will not speak to a customer that was sold a faurd prada purse sold to her for $1000. It was told and writer on an AD in their store that the beg was in perfect shape, which it was NOT!!! They sold a cracked Prada beg to her it was a lie it was said that they missed it on the beg and Joy the owner would not even speak to my daughter about what they sold her my daughter lost alot. Of money, it was concerned fraud that they sold it to her, and when she went to talk to Joy about the them selling her a beg that was NOT in perfect shape the owner, reguded to tslk to my dsughter SHE would not speak with her! They SAID that BUYER BEWAY, THERE IS NO SIGN THERE THAT SAYS THAT IN THERE STORE. There are no refunds I consider this FRAUD
Regard to you answer below, you did NOT get back to my daughter, and if you would have spoken to her in the first place this would have been solved much better it only had escalated in the store because you would not text her back or deal with her . My daughter and I we were told by your manager that even if the buyers looked at the paurse, you would not have done anything about this issue. Second, the manager at your store admitted that it was missed by the buyer that you wanted my daughter to leave the purse at your store and it wold havd be the same result you would have not still done a thing. You, Joy, as the owner of the store, should have spoken to my daughter. I understand from others you let your staff do all the work you should be dealing with yhis is from another store manager I spoken to that is ¹not right for your staff. Also, my daughter texted you that very moment, and you never got back to her. Another thing befor accusing us of bothering the customers the one customer was prejudiced and interacted in what was none of her business to interact towards my grandkids a 21 month old and a 3 year old because they were in the store she said some rude things to us that my daughter was a child thst customer was rude to my daughter and grandkids. She does not know us, and neither do you. Stop putting your staff in your shoes what you should be dealing with. I know you own 7 stores in Vanvouver, and your write-up about you about helping women well in this issue it shows your true colors. My daughter saved all her birthday money to buy herself a purse she alwsys dreamed of and you destroyed that fof her why she was so UPSET IT MADE HER ? CRY I hope you can live with yourself doing that to a women ? that works hard for her family. Looking out for women???

Manager openly admitted to improperly evaluating the value of an item and when brought to the Manager's attention that bag was not in the condition it was marketed as was told "buyer beware". Owner has refused to connect about issue. Be careful what you purchase here as the mangers and owners clearly do not properly evaluate the value of an item but are more than willing to overcharge and not support their customers.
