The new staff in this store are extremely impolite- no please, no thank you, and in the checkout just now the produce was pretty much thrown into the bagging area.

Visited shortly before closing. Prices are what I would expect, on the higher side of average. They had a bit of everything just in case you needed it

Incredibly rude staff.I came in about 20 mins before the store closing and at exactly 7 pm ( the closing time) a worker came up to me to tell me the shop was closed and I couldn’t finish grabbing the last items on my list. I tried to get eggs one aisle over and the manger came to say I couldn’t shop grab any more items.At the checkout the worker was incredibly rude. He basically threw the receipt at the guy in front of me.He started packing my groceries away ( granted it’s a nice gesture) and packed the eggs at the bottom, when I told him I wanted the eggs at the top so they don’t break, he got clearly annoyed and almost scoffed.In any restaurant or service stores you are generally allowed to finish your meal or wrap up in a reasonable time even if the store is officially closed. If you don’t want people in the store at 7 pm, close the doors earlier or the nice thing to do ( although yes it’s over the top) would be to help find last items or even start scanning basket ect.I understand that workers want to go home but from my retail experience your shift ends 30-60 mins after close time to close tills l, clean ect so not sure if it’s a poor management issue here as well.Anyway rant over. Treating people nicely should always be a given.The store itself is great. Standard offerings with bakery and ready go meals. Small pharmacy. Fruits and veg section is a little small. They do offer some nice higher end and also cheaper options as well.

Originally we gave five stars, but an experience happened that made us change our mind. We had an unfortunate incident with a cashier, Sim*n, who tossed paper bags our way when we asked for them and left us to bag our products ourselves. But she then enthusiastically made conversation with the next customer in line and helped with her bags. This cashier doesn’t seem quite fit for this retail business,and hopefully if she reads this, she will understand that “architecture is also a field in which cooperation and civility is very important if she ever decides to make good on her college degree.”.also Safeway customer service is also a joke or something.. look all the one star comment, the attitude of the cashier is always the problem but Safeway Company seems really don’t care about that! If you want a better shopping experience, maybe you have better choice!

Store felt like a freezer on a hot summer day. I couldn’t stay inside for more than 10 minutes it was so cold. And just one single person rest-room for such a large store, really?!

You would expect a tad bit better customer care extended to us customers; given this store is in a alledged fancy neighborhood. Welp, nope. I encountered the utmost uninformative customer care today from this sweet looking female Filipino employee with blonde highights. Insert whichever narritive you prefer, but I don't appreciate hearing " Oh my God, I'm so F...... busy " from ANY staff while walking away. Regardless if this prior or after the customer asks a question. Truth is this was after I inquired her in regards to a product. Take this as a learning measure or simply employ a different element that offers better. Don't allow a minoritized mishap to diminish and degradeSobey's company values & believes. It's beyond shameful. Better in optics is worth it.

The store has slowly removed hundreds of items from their shelves. Vegetable quality is poor and not maintained. You will find many overripe products in store and often at home in prepacked vegetables. Prices are very high and not worth value compared to other stores. Butcher section is good.

Very clean, well organized easy to find what I am looking for. Very friendly staff, the manager is really nice and genuine too. This location doesn't have a water refill machine if that is what you need but Westview does. Additionally and this could be due to the staff shortage in all sectors inc. retail some of the produce is a bit wilted, not rotated and sprayed enough, this could be they need more produce staff. Thank-you overall to Safeway for maintaining clean, organized, well stocked stores with many health and organic items.

Their selection has vastly improved over the past couple of years and it's not more or less expensive than the other limited supermarket options in West Van. BUT they lately have a serious problem with staffing -- both insufficient numbers and quality of personnel -- and this results in very long lineups at any time of visit not just peak periods, extremely slow service, and shelves not being restocked. Also, they got rid of Airmiles and replaced it with the Scene card, which is puzzling. I have 0 interest or incentive in using the Scene card. So I'm left with little reason to continue shopping here.
