A great place to learn about local culture and more. A beautiful space.
The Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre (SLCC) is the first centre of its kind in Canada: two nations came together to celebrate & share their cultures while creating meaningful employment opportunities for members of both the Sk̲wxwú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation) & Líl̓wat7ul (Lil’wat Nation). Visitors to the SLCC experience cultural regeneration in action as workers share their rich cultures & traditions through hourly guided tours with a welcome drum song, short film, and storytelling through the Great Hall and Gallery 1. See the feature exhibition UNCEDED until Oct 8th, 2023. Visit Whistler's largest First Nations Gift Shop and Gallery and First Nations-inspired food at the Thunderbird Cafe, both located in the admission-free area.
