Today was their last day. I managed to get one last shopping stop in as they were literally packing up the stuff left. They had a bunch of stuff for free outside for anyone to take, which says a lot about this business. Just bought a home and Mik, Lacy, and Frank have all been helpful in helping me figure out what is useful and what might not be. Will definitely be taking my business to see them for their excellent customer service at the South Shore location even if it is a farther drive from my daughter's preschool because I appreciate their honesty and loyalty to the customer's goals and needs. Will definitely miss the 50% off but I enjoyed it while it lasted! Thanks Mik, Lacy, and Frank!

I am super sad to hear that this location of Pagano's is closing. I have been a regular customer for nearly three decades. In that time, I have become very familiar with several long-time employees, and am so impressed with the quality of service and attentiveness that they offer. South shore center is not the most convenient location for me, but I would be inclined to make the trip there if I could know that I would keep on seeing the same friendly faces. I believe there is some uncertainty about whether they are going to retain their most senior employees. If you have the same concerns, feel free to email the Pagano's headquarters:

Many of the employees in his establishment are very patient and good at helping you get to the bottom of your needs. They have normal stuff like cleaning, solvents, paint, just about anything you can want. But they also have hundreds of thousands of individual screw boxes, well screws, fastening hardware, literally, hundreds and thousands of different sizes shapes colors, metric and American. Plus they have decoration, sand, soaps, and waxes and candles. You can go in there as a construction worker and house, upgrade or, or kind of a shop or looking for cute stuff kitchen ware, etc.. Definitely a great store. Great company.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. They seem to have everything I need - every time I go there. They explain everything and give solid advice. Today, Ben went out of his way to make sure I could repair my kitchen crane. I tried to buy the wrong thing that was quite pricey. He explained why the more affordable choice was better. I had unscrewed the parts wrong and he took care to retrieve the old part and screwed it into the new part he recommended. This type of honesty and courtesy is rare and to be treasured.

The staff here is really nice but they are often out of stock on a lot of stuff. Especially plumbing. I often have trouble finding parts I need for plumbing. The other paganos has a much larger stock

Friendly staff will help you find anything you are asking for, which is sometimes needed because like many a city based hardware store, this place packs in the stuff to ensure they have as much as possible. You will pay more than big box stores (hence 4 not 5 stars) but they have two locations (one on each side of Alameda) so when you just need that one bolt, one part, etc... you cannot really beat getting your part and back to the job in less than 20 minutes.Their return policies during covid were suspended (no returns), not sure if they've opened back up returns again, but no returns was very troublesome when you end up with a bolt or part that you didn't use but is just slightly the wrong size. Hopefully returns have opened back up (I haven't been back to them in 6 months, but wanted to leave a positive review!)

Great resource if you're that end of town, 90% of the time will save you a trip to the big hardware stores for an urgent repair. It feels a bit better stocked than the Southshore location, with more of a feel of the old Lincoln Ave location (if nostalgia is important to you).Living on Bay Farm this is my plan D, but it's en-route is I'm shopping at Target or Michaels.

A great, old-school hardware store. I’d they don’t have it, you don’t need it.
