Today was their last day. I managed to get one last shopping stop in as they were literally packing up the stuff left. They had a bunch of stuff for free outside for anyone to take, which says a lot about this business. Just bought a home and Mik, Lacy, and Frank have all been helpful in helping me figure out what is useful and what might not be. Will definitely be taking my business to see them for their excellent customer service at the South Shore location even if it is a farther drive from my daughter's preschool because I appreciate their honesty and loyalty to the customer's goals and needs. Will definitely miss the 50% off but I enjoyed it while it lasted! Thanks Mik, Lacy, and Frank!

I am super sad to hear that this location of Pagano's is closing. I have been a regular customer for nearly three decades. In that time, I have become very familiar with several long-time employees, and am so impressed with the quality of service and attentiveness that they offer. South shore center is not the most convenient location for me, but I would be inclined to make the trip there if I could know that I would keep on seeing the same friendly faces. I believe there is some uncertainty about whether they are going to retain their most senior employees. If you have the same concerns, feel free to email the Pagano's headquarters:

Many of the employees in his establishment are very patient and good at helping you get to the bottom of your needs. They have normal stuff like cleaning, solvents, paint, just about anything you can want. But they also have hundreds of thousands of individual screw boxes, well screws, fastening hardware, literally, hundreds and thousands of different sizes shapes colors, metric and American. Plus they have decoration, sand, soaps, and waxes and candles. You can go in there as a construction worker and house, upgrade or, or kind of a shop or looking for cute stuff kitchen ware, etc.. Definitely a great store. Great company.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. They seem to have everything I need - every time I go there. They explain everything and give solid advice. Today, Ben went out of his way to make sure I could repair my kitchen crane. I tried to buy the wrong thing that was quite pricey. He explained why the more affordable choice was better. I had unscrewed the parts wrong and he took care to retrieve the old part and screwed it into the new part he recommended. This type of honesty and courtesy is rare and to be treasured.

The staff here is really nice but they are often out of stock on a lot of stuff. Especially plumbing. I often have trouble finding parts I need for plumbing. The other paganos has a much larger stock

I needed the lock to my new house rekeyed. He did it quick and for a fair price. I needed extra keys. He warned me off from junky ones. It's conveniently located near my new house. I had the lock out, rekeyed, back in place within 1/2 an hour.

You know... You can go to (insert big box hardware store name here) and you might save yourself a few dollars... but there won't be a Mick there to hold your hand and find you exactly what you need (irrigation, plumbing, etc. I mean... there are countless home projects that I have had help from Pagano's employees with). Words cannot express how thankful we are to have Pagano's here in Alameda, and how helpful Mick and many of their other employees are. Thank you so much Mick and Pagano's!!!

They suddenly require masks and I asked for one. They said I could only buy one and it was $3.99. I asked them to bring it to the curb and they said to come on in maskless?!? What's the point of requiring masks if it is ok to enter the store to buy masks? Most stores either offer them free or charge 10 to 25 cents a mask. This is an example of a local store not being run well and massively overcharging.

Pagnano's is an old-world style hardware store, where the staff actually know there stuff. As soon as you walk in to Pagnanos, you will be greated and asked if there is anything they can help you find. Name something - anything - and they will instantly rattle off the isle number and which side its on. They give out free popcorn. Love that. Reminds me of a hardware store that I used to go to as a kid. Great personal touch. Parking is always easy. You can be in-and-out within 2 minutes with that hardware item you need.

Pagano's knows their stuff and had what I needed when I needed it, what more can you ask from a hardware store? Well, today was international women's day and they gave me a 10% discount. Thank you, Pagano's. Going into a hardware store I often feel I am ignored or worse, talked down to. Not only did I get excellent service, but got special treatment for being female on international women's day. Awesome!!!

Excellent, friendly service, every time. We've been going to this store for years. They're reasonable about returning and exchanging items that don't work, and they know their products well.

In the words of another reviewer, Chris helped my "clueless, millennial" self + toddler in tow zip in and out here. Sink handle problem that was bugging me for months was quickly solved. Service was amazing and professional. I really appreciate you guys and will be back for hardware/ household needs. Thank you Chris! Ps Parking is great too.

Pagano's is the ultimate hardware store: - It's a neighborhood institution - It's right there off of Webster and is a great place to drop by and get what you need. - It's got a great selection - I've come here for everything from keys to tools. If you need it, they got it. - The prices are right and more than reasonable. And best of all... - The service is super helpful and friendly - even with my clueless millennial self.
