I walked into their store yesterday in desperate need of a new vhf antenna because ours had broken in transit. The young gentleman at the front counter graciously called Jacques, one of their technicians who was out in the field and put me on speaker phone where I described the situation. Jacques was extremely knowledgeable, and made a few suggestions. With his help, we were able to fix the antenna and raise the mast and launch our new boat!! We appreciate the time he took to not only explain things, but remedy our problem!

I am under deposit with RME for a new radar, chart-plotter and wind vane. So far I chose Reliable over their main competitor because they made me feel better about asking questions, and modifying my order to suit my specific needs. The competitor seemed less interested in my business when I wanted to scratch some line items off the order that I wasn't going to ever need or want. Wesley and his team took their time to answer all my questions (there were many) and they even came out to my boat at my request to go over some concerns I had. The install is scheduled for next month and I'll update the review then.

As a boat owner you need to create a relationship with different vendors that service your boat, from servicing your engines to topside maintenance. It isn’t always a pleasant experience as there a many more boats than vendors. Being able to create a relationship with Reliable Marine Electronics, specifically Ian their amazing tech, has been my extreme pleasure. Reliable isn’t just in their name but how they go about their business. My auto pilot wasn’t working and Ian was kind enough to walk me through several phone calls to assess the problem so that when came out to my boat he had a much better idea of the issue and how to fix it. Having someone that would take the time to do that and not charge me just so the visit could be productive and efficient and save money and time for both parties was amazing. I am so happy I found Reliable Marine and highly recommend them.

Reliable Marine Electronics did a complete instrument upgrade on our 20 year old 32' sloop. AIS transmit/receive, 2 chart plotters, all new instruments and transducers. They took out all of the old equipment and wiring (huge pile), and did a very neat installation. It looks like the boat was built this way. The whole job was done in 6 days. Stayed within budget. First rate outfit.

I am in the process of installing an AIS in my sailboat. I went to Star Marine in Alameda because of their reviews. The owner was extremely rude and refused to spend any time helping me; because, I didn’t purchase the electronics from him. He told me it wasn’t worth his time. I went to Reliable Marine Electronics in Alameda and spoke to Ian McDaniel. He was happy to help and gave us guidance on our installation. I hadn’t bought my electronics from him, but Ian gave me advice on the best way to complete the installation. I will use Reliable Marine again and will refer people to them. Thank you Ian for all you help.

The name says it all. The people at Reliable Marine are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. They took the time to walk me through an autohelm issue while I was offshore. I resolved the issue based on what advice I was given. Their customer service is exceptional. Would highly recommend to anyone.

It's rare these days to find quality workmanship. Roger and his team go above and beyond the call of duty to help their customers. They have excellent communication skills and their follow up is top notch. I've recommended Reliable Marine Electronics to a number of my boating friends. As a licensed Captain my expectations are high. Reliable exceeded my expectations and then some. In my book, Reliable is the go to marine electronics installer. Keep up the great work that you do!

I have employed Reliable to do a host of installations on my 30 foot powerboat - including autopilot, FLIR, AIS, Siren Marine, Lithium house batteries - the works! Reliable delivers quality work - everything is labeled, cable runs are neat and holes are cut precisely. They also work super clean - the boat looks great after they are done even if there was cutting fiberglass involved! Ian is super knowledgable and will research any topic or unfamiliar technology in detail. Last but not least Ian proactively calls out potential issues and proposes appropriate solutions - extending to already existing issues.

As a General Class Amateur Radio Operator, pilot, sailor and tech exec, I have interacted with top tier electronics firms for more than 30 years. I would rank Reliable Marine Electronics in Alameda as one of the best I have ever worked with. Roger, Ian, Jacque and the team have upgraded the Raymarine products and added an SSB capability on my Catalina. Their design, installation and training is first class. It is also worth noting they have also consistently and quickly responded to service calls and owner questions. I can strongly recommend Reliable when you desire state of the art maritime solutions. 5 stars!

I recently hired Reliable Marine Electronics for a major electronics upgrade on my Beneteau 37, including installation of a new Halo Radar. They had previously done work for me a couple years ago to re-do a wind-sensor install that a previous company had done incorrectly. While not the cheapest, Reliable Marine did excellent work, cleaned up after themselves and had friendly and courteous technician so I thought let's do it. This time it was a pretty substantial job, about $8K worth with half of it labor, which involved cutting new holes for the new instruments on the binnacle, fabricating a new bezel for my wider chart plotter and of course a mast climb for the radar install. While doing that they also found the VHF antenna cable inside the mast was frayed and offered to replace it with a new one since they were already climbing the mast. All new cables installed in the mast were protected with an extra sleeve at the outlet near the bottom to prevent chafing etc, a small but important detail. They also installed an auxiliary autopilot controller for me which involved a cutting a precise hole in the cockpit wall and fishing the NMEA network cable down inside, not something I would dare do myself! Overall I was very happy with the outcome, and while it cost me a bit extra, I know the boat is better now then when it was new! I would recommend Reliable Marine to anyone looking for quality workmanship, courteous service, and above all, technicians who show up when they say they are gonna show up! I will hire them again when I am ready for another upgrade.

Reliable Marine Electronics has been helping get my boat ready for a race to Hawaii next year. The project included new power and VHF antenna cabling, solar panels, electronics, satcom, fans and so on. The work has all been top notch with quick turnaround and reasonable prices. In particular it has been a pleasure working with Ian, a great problem solver and a really nice guy. I strongly recommend this company for any electrical or electronics work on your boat.

I had an electrical issue issue on my Islander 28....I had been referred to them by my boatyard which had a full calendar....the initial phone call was professional and they took the time to listen to me explain my problem. The actual work was performed on the day it was scheduled...my issues were addressed, fixed and came in under the estimate. A follow-up call was handled the same way...everyone I talked to was knowledgeable, professional and courteous...I'd call these guys again in a heart beat if I had any marine electronic issues.

After talking to a few friends, I decided to hire Reliable Marine to upgrade my +16 year old Ray Marine C-80 chart plotter. This was a large project because I added a second chart plotter at the helm. Also had to replace my radar, add a NEMA 2000 bus along with integrating to existing Ray Marine ST-60 instruments, Raymarine autopilot, and NKE mast displays. Once I saw what the Raymarine Axiom+ could do, I upgraded my stereo to work with the Axiom+ and added the Sirius/XM weather. They did an excellent job and had very fair pricing. I was very pleased with their work and would highly recommend them for any electronics work on your boat.About two months later, Reliable Marine Electronics came to the rescue. I took my boat up to the Delta and the dock that I was staying at for 8 weeks had just added GFI breakers to their 30amp power. Well, my boat was setting off the GFI, so I could not get any shore power. I called them and they had someone out to my boat the next day. After some investigation, they located the problem to my +16 year old inverter. Removing it completely resolved the problem. We were back on shore power and my wife is very happy. Again, many thanks to everyone at Reliable Marine Electronics.
