This is in regards to the delivery service from the Shoreline Safeway.I have a love/hate relationship with the delivery service. On one hand, it's convenient. On the other hand, too many problems and too much of a headache. When my subscription ends, I'm not sure if I will be renewing it.1. On recent orders:a. I was charged 5 lb of orange for a single orange.(I have had an ongoing problem of the charged weight being significantly higher than what I actually received).b. Instead of receiving two squash, I received two pumpkins (this wasn't even a substitution, just a mistake).c. Items missing from the delivery2. I have had an ongoing issue with certain items being way past their prime. ( I kept getting slimy, rotten cucumbers. I even put in the notes "please make sure cucumbers aren't slimy" and I got rotten cucumbers again.3. For the past 3 months, even though I clipped the $5 monthly reward coupon, it didn't get credited towards my receipt. I clipped the $5 birthday month reward and that didn't go through either. Twice when I called about the monthly reward,, the support person argued with me and wouldn't give me the credit. 4. The other week I received a rotten watermelon. I asked for a refund and they said I would have to take it in to the store, which is a 15- 20 minute drive. I'm assuming this is because I've requested refunds in the past. This felt a bit like adding insult to injury- I requested refunds in the past because there was a problem with the item.So I drove to safeway, and it turns out the service/returns department had just closed.( I acknowledge that when I started placing orders with Safeway, I did it on my phone, and it wasn't clear to me how to request substitutions, so early on I requested refunds I shouldn't have. On the other hand, there are a lot of problems with the phone interface).5. I have contacted Safeway multiple times about incorrect product information, and changes were never made. There are positive sides as well. For the most part, it's convenient. Some of the delivery drivers phone support people have been very nice and helpful,

Poor management. Was put on hold 3 times now only to be sent to voicemail each time, the turn over rate for workers is alarming and clearly they can't figure out how to train people properly. The pharmacists are so overburdened, they need to hire more people and organize their system better. The pharmacists are doing the best they can with horrible management.

Undoubtedly the absolutely worst pharmacy I've ever had to deal with. They NEVER answer phones or respond to left messages.

A big, clean, well organized Safeway in Alameda!!The prices in Safeway have gone up, so download the App for the best deals, the just for you savings are good. In this store, I have always found what I'm looking for rather easily. Also, the fruit in this store seems to be a little fresher than other stores, in my opinion. Or maybe I just come once they have restocked.Located in the Alameda South Shore Shopping Center, there's plenty of parking here, and they also have the Safeway gas station available. One of the few Safeways I actually like shopping in!!

I started using their delivery service after standing in line for over 45 minutes a couple of times. Warning: do not use Safeway.com for delivery. It may work for a while, but you will eventually hit a snag where your groceries aren't delivered or you don't get a majority of your groceries. Once you are in the Safeway.com customer service vortex for a greater than $75 refund it's near impossible to actually get your refund. I've switched from delivery to pick-up.

I truly despise going to this store and I only go when I have no other choices.1. They're constantly out of certain items, especially in the Asian foods section and sometime's they'll be out for weeks.2. The employee I spoke to had never heard of senior Thursdays even though it's mentioned online.3. A large Black security guard wearing spectacles always follows me through the store, recording me on his phone and jerking his eyes away when I look in his direction. Next time I'm going to offer to hold his hand to make it easier for him to follow me.4. There are often large price increases especially for bread products.More later.

I love Safeway. Shopping there's since 1998. I had a bad experience at self check out. The lady there, Amanda wasn't in uniform. I didn't know she was a employee. I needed help she told me to wait. I was confused. She was so rude to my father and I. I told her, I didn't now you worked here, sorry. She's not in uniform. She was busy talking to a family member, I assume Then got upset at me when I asked, do you work here? She said yes sipping her coffee and on her phone. Crazy part, I went back few days later. She's still not in uniform and sipping her coffee with a friend or family member and ringing up news papers. I asked for help, she continue speaking Chinese and rolled her eyes. I felt uncomfortable like I disturbed her. I went back that afternoon with my girlfriend, same thing. Rude not in uniform and yelling at another employee, she's off at 3pm, rolling her eyes. This lady needs to respect her customers and employees. She's Chinese short hair. Name Amanda. Now my father and I rather stand in line and not deal with her.

Went to the 5th Street Safeway @ 12:30am to grab some cake stuff for my kiddo's birthday. According to their hours they were supposed to be open, I was bummed. Headed over to the South Shore location, and they were open. Hooray! And they had butterscotch pudding. Hooray! And they have the nicest night shift manager. Hooray! Thanks a ton William!

Sometimes it just blows my mind when I realize that I have not written a Yelp review on a place I frequent often. Quality/Quantity - Hit or miss. This was our favorite location, not sure if there were management changes in the past...? But their out of stock conditions have increased. We/I shop here often because I like my food fresh. But if they are out of stock often, then I have to stock up, which I prefer not to do, especially with my travel schedules. This location also has all the departments, so it is a one stop shop including a gas station and US Bank.Lastly, there is a Trader Joe's next door, which is again a one stop shop. Atmosphere - Huge, well kept location.Plenty of easy mall parking.Open 7 days a week from 5am to 2pm (please update Yelp hours, you still have your Thanksgiving hours posted). Service - Okay, not good or bad. Price - Reasonable. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1915 with your 904 locations in 17 states. In 2015, Albertsons purchased Safeway.

I came in to buy sudafed tonight I waited for 5 minutes and then the woman disappeared to do a vaccine and then other person working wouldn’t help me. It would have taken 1 minute to ring me up for sudafed and it has to be done by a pharmacist.

This store is poorly managed. The hours posted are incorrect. At 6:30 on a Sunday, they closed the self checkout line, thereby creating long lines in the manned checkup registers. They only had four checkers manning the checkout lines. This situation is a regular occurrence at this store.
