I had some shocks installed on my Raptor. It was a pretty simple job, but did involve drilling holes for mounting the rear reservoir. There were communication problems and mistakes from front to end. I clearly communicated I was looking for a quote for the front and back shocks but they misquoted it. When I arrived at the shop they didn't have the right staff because they'd misunderstood the scope of work. They convinced me to go ahead anyway.I clearly went over the instructions, and walked them through the template for mounting the rear reservoir. However it turned out they disregarded the instructions and mounted the reservoir in the wrong place. Which means now I've got holes in the bed of my truck in the wrong place, and have to live with the issue, or pay to have the holes welded up, bed re-painted, and shocks re-mounted correctly.Overall it took 2.5x the quoted time, and the reservoir is mounted incorrectly, and I've got holes drilled in my bed in the wrong place. On the plus side, the folks in the office were cool to chat with and they did paint mark all the bolts which I liked (so 2 stars instead of 1). Overall I hoped for better, and was very surprised at this given the good reputation.

I am blown away by Shaffer’s expertise, accommodation of my last minute diagnostic work and generosity of spirit. If you want Baja off-road race winning, best of the best, expert techs to diagnose and work on your rig, take it here. Annie, the master coordinator, is a BOSS…the friendliest kind. THANK YOU SHAFFER’S!!!

Shaffers was recommended to me by another shop that I was contacting to lift my truck, and man they did not disappoint.Anyone who has gotten their cars heavily modified knows it’s a scary feeling to let someone cut up your perfectly well working vehicle. If you do any research on this shop you’ll see they have a long history of custom fabrication and off-road builds. If you speaks with Annie she it’s super chill and knows quite a bit so if you got questions ask em. They charge a reasonable price on labor in my opinion compared to other shops I’ve been to and the quality of works is better. So far they have done a full 7inch BDS coil over, wheels & tires, custom drive shaft, and a re-gear on my 19 tundra. I believe all work is done in house except my drive line it was sent to another shop, and if it’s good enough for Shaffers it’s good enough for me. If your like me and don’t do a whole lot of off-roading and want to keep the functionality of your ride shaffers will help guide you in the right direction without selling you extra’s that you don’t need or want. All in all I think it’s a great shop for people new to the game it have been in it a while and if it dealer related this will be the only place that touches my ride.

The team at Shaffer's Offroad are great to work with whether your project is large or small. The first couple jobs I had done by Mike and his team were suspension upgrades from a Dobinsons nitro to a full MRR kit and upgraded springs. They did a great job in a timely fashion, too. The second was a full rear window delete/swap to gull wings on a 100-series Land Cruiser/LX470, also a tailgate storage swap. This was uncharted territory since there aren't many out there, but they did a great job. Most recently I had to do a wheel and tire swap. I had gotten 5 wheels, but 4 tires, so I bought one Falken Wildpeak AT3W from them while the truck was in the shop and everything went smoothly. We noticed bc I had an old wheel spacer on there, the tire was rubbing, but Mike knew by taking off the spacer we could easily resolve that. A walk in the park. For anyone looking to get some work done on their overlanding or 4x4 vehicle, Shaffer's does great work and are easy to work with.

Update: 2 years later, I discovered 2 major issues with their installation, first on a track bar the shop discarded that I had to buy again at my own expense, and take it back to get reinstalled, and second on the exhaust line install, which they didn't hang correctly causing it to sit against the driveshaft. In both cases, the shop didn't prioritize repairs ahead of their scheduled customers, meaning that I have had to drive around with unsafe issues and argue with them about their responsibility for them. The second time around I don't have the time to wait for their schedule, so I'm giving up and taking it to another shop that I know I can rely on for quality.

Thanks again Mike, Annie and Alex!

Shaffer's off-road is a five star business judging by all possible parameters and metrics. I first contacted them asking for a quote to upgrade the suspension in my Tundra, with a new wheel/tire set up and they responded back within the hour! Since then I had several questions and back and forth email exchanges, and they replied to every single one promptly, with all relevant details, and answered all my questions. When I was ready to make a deposit for the parts to move forward with the project, I was still waiting to hear back from some other businesses whom I contacted before Shaffer's off-road. They could teach a class on great communication skills! The people who owns the business and who work there, they are not just doing some random jobs. They are off-road enthusiasts, have several personal well built vehicles, and they are regulars on trails. I really liked that not for moment I was under any kind of pressure to make a deal or to buy any specific brand, also they don't try to upsell anything whatsoever. The workmanship is top notch. My truck actually rides better than stock, super smooth, better cornering ability, no noise, no vibration. Their pricing is pretty competitive too, and totally worth the experience. I'll highly recommend this business.

Competent service, easy to schedule and coordinate appointments, incredible value. Shaffer's stands by their work and clearly informs customers about their vehicle. I would recommend them for any service that they are equipped to handle.

I had put off my suspension install on my '98 Land Cruiser for over a year. Several shops had been non-responsive or unprofessional, delaying the installation even longer. I passed Shaffers on my way home one day and sent them an e-mail (my preferred communication method) the next day. They responded quickly and were able to provide a quote for the suspension work which was in line with what I was expecting. The truck was dropped off in the morning and was done by early afternoon. The workmanship was excellent and exceeded my expectations. I am recommending Shaffers to coworkers and anyone i come across that needs work done on their rig.

Outstanding craftsmanship and personal service. The team at Schaffer’s are definite experts in their craft which translates into the very best work on your rig. Both Annie, Mike and the entire team are very customer care driven and great people to know and talk to. Can’t recommend highly enough.

They had issues during their work on my car that ended up taking over 2 weeks, afterwards that cost me $1000 in repairs to fix the poor job done on one install, other things I was able to fix myself, wiring was 8/10 but definitely much better job than other services they offer. It's probably a roll of dice kind of shop, I would pay extra and get it done well first time.

Brought my Jeep in to have the PSC Hydraulic steering repaired after it was installed at 4 Wheel Parts. Mike was able to sneak me in prior to my Jeep Jamboree. Awesome shop and 100% recommended.

Nothing but good things to say about this place. Annie and the crew are amazing. I came here after clearly getting bogus quotes from 4wheelparts. Shaffer's took care of my 3" lift for ~$1000 less than 4wheelparts was trying to quote me, got the job done on a short scheduling timeline before I had a long road trip, and luckily discovered I had a failed lower ball joint which could have sent me into a bad accident on my trip a few days later. They got the OEM LCAs same day and put them on with very little upcharge. Great communication all around. I will send anyone who listens to this place, outstanding customer service.

If you have a Toyota, and you want your lift quickly installed look no further. Not only was the price $500 less than most of the other lift shops I looked at, Shaffer’s Offroad and Performance took only one day to install a full front and rear lift kit on my 2009 Tacoma. Great install speed, price, and workers. Highly recommend and when you call ask for Annie, she is great.

Can’t say enough good things about this shop and the people who work there! Most of my Toyota off-roading friends bring their trucks here, so when my Tacoma needed a full engine replacement (after another shop failed to fix a certain issue which proved fatal to my motor) it was only right that i reach out to Shaffer’s. I’m glad I did! They walked me through the entire process, scheduled an appointment for me, and replaced the engine in (what I feel like) record time. Truck purrs like a kitten now, and I’m no longer stressing about whether it’s going to die on me. 12/10 recommend bringing your ride here!
