Walked in as the sign said , asked a question from one of the employees. She's like - wait at the reception to be answered.. Not enough can't afford receptionist because if there was one I wouldn't need to approach to a random sad employee lol, on top of that stuck-up and rude and doesn't even know how to cut hair. These people need to learn more about costumer service. Scroll down to see more hidden reviews about this place

I always love my haircuts with Annika who I have been going to for the past few years. She is so sweet and caring, and she knows exactly what I want. She didn't change the style of my hair, but cut some layers!! At first, I was scared because I just had 5 inches cut off of my long hair! But now my hair is full of volume, cute, and so much healthier. I absolutely love it! The salon itself is very clean and organized. There are lots of hair products at the front of the store that you can buy!!

I had a blowout service with Carmen today. Overall, she seems like a nice person. However, I did not like my hair at all. I put trust into Carmen to do something simple for my hair (for my birthday). Instead of getting a nice voluminous blowout, I got half curled, frizzy, and straight hair. The process was rushed and she didn’t section my hair out at all. She started to but gave up after one section. She afterwards just started pulling at all my hair with the brush without combing it out first. I didn’t say anything because I wanted her to work her “magic” and maybe she had a different way of doing things. But the experience wasn’t nice and I won’t be coming back.Service: Hair styling

They are currently open! Appointments are required. I’ve come here twice, Sharon cuts my hair and she always does an amazing job. I have some texture to my hair that has caused bad haircuts in the past, but she really listened to me. I consider their haircut prices very fair.

Vee did a fantastic job on my cut/color! She is the perfect combo of professional and friendly,. It's obvious that she loves to do hair and she does a great job! The salon is classic architecture with a touch of modern. The staff are customer oriented, but still manage to have a little fun.

for first impressions, it was that bad. the place was clean, not too busy and i could hear conversation happening between the customers and hair stylists. came in wanting to cut my bangs for the first time. we walked in and expected the person up front to approach us and say something. she just looked and sat down. it wasn't too bad, i just had high expectations from that place since it looked very professional. we sat there for a good forty five minutes, nobody had said a word, other customers even walked in and they were invited in by the employees. from there, my mom had walked up to one of the workers and asked them if an appointment was required. the worker said yes. from there, we left. nobody had acknowledged us when we walked in, there was no sign saying appointments were required and on this app it even says walk-ins are welcomed. gave this an extra star since the place was pretty clean overall.

My daughter looked online for ( one of the ) best salons in alameda and she ended up finding this place. It says walk-ins are welcome so that's what we did since it was already kind of late for us to call and set up an appointment. We arrived at around 1:40pm and waited. This lady, after she did a customer's hair, sat in the front desk looking at her phone, not saying anything. Another customer, not sure if it was just a walk-in or if they had an appointment set up, sat next to us and they called her first. I got up and ask an employee if I needed to make an appointment. she said that they work for themselves and there is no receptionist for today. First of all, why would nobody even said anything about that when I had first walked in? Second, it says on here that walk-ins are welcomed. You should really take that down because you'll easily get people confused. We ended up leaving due to the misconception.

First off the owner Sandy was very sympathetic, kind and listened to how unhappy I was this morning to get a very bad haircut from Carmen two days ago. I walked into We Are Hair two days ago and asked Carmen how much she charged for a haircut. She told me $35. What I got was a haircut that was rushed and no thought or care on her part what she was doing. I also thought afterward don't you usually get a shampoo included with the haircut? I asked for my ponytail be shaped to a point rather than straight line. I simply wanted my hair to look neat when in ponytail when I'm working for my clients. I noticed the she cut at least three inches off rather than two that she said...but thought ok....that extra inch of hair will grow back in two months. She then proceeded to get her electric hair clippers to what I thought to clean my back neckline. When Carmen was finished I went to pay her with my debit card. She said she was unable to process my card for the $35 plus the $10 tip so I walked two blocks to get the monies. She said she would prefer cash if I come back in the future. I kept noticing throughout the rest of the day how the back of my neck felt so sensitive to touch and the cold air. I didn't pay much mind til this morning when I looked at the back of my neck. Carmen had shaved up to far into my longer hair in a jagged shape. I was shocked and could not believe what the logic or what she was thinking. I realized she just rushed what she did and left my back neck hairline crooked and butchered. I showed another stylist what she did and it is unfixable. It will take at least 2 years for that hair that should have not been shaved to grow back. Honestly getting my money back doesn't even cover how bad my neck line looks like now. I showed Carmen this morning what she did. She listened and did not apologize or explain what went wrong. She walked to get the refund I wanted and that was it. I've had better cuts from the other stylists there at We Are Hair but I do not recommend Carmen. I'm sorry Carmen but you need to think and take more care in what your clients want. I am also posting pics of my crooked shaved neck line and the unmatched uneven hair she cut above my side burns that she didn't even offer to fix.
