During my senior year of high school, I went to Alpha College Prep to seek help with my college apps and help with the overall process that can be very overwhelming. I worked with Jennifer, who was absolutely wonderful, and she managed to help me write my college apps that got me into top universities like UC Berkeley, Northeastern, and UCLA. With this, I also got scholarships from other universities I applied to and had an overall amazing college application experience. She helped me facilitate and better explain my ideas on paper which helped a lot. Also, before the SATs got cancelled, I used the Alpha College Prep to mainly help with the math portion of the SAT and after the first session my score improved by 50 points. I would recommend Alpha College Prep for students who are looking for some guidance during the college admission process or looking for overall tutoring in any area. I will be a freshman at UC Berkeley this fall and thank Alpha College Prep for helping me write and formulate strong essays as I couldn't have done it without them.

Taylor and Robert were the best! I could not recommend them enough. They helped my daughter improve about 80 points on the SAT during the 2.5 months we saw them. My daughter adored them both. We tried another company prior to Alpha, and we both prefer Alpha.

Alpha College Prep is the only tutoring service that I will use. My daughter found herself in a jam with half an Algebra 1 grade due to a new program offered at the high school she attended from 2018-2019. She was unable to attend summer school, and needed to complete an online Algebra 1 program before The 2019-2020 school year started. Robert is the tutor who helped our daughter, not only strengthen her algebraic base, but, literally supported her all the way through this intense online math class. She passed with a B+. Taylor, another tutor, is very patient, and helped me set up a schedule throughout the summer that set My daughter up for success. Robert genuinely cares about my daughter's academic success and even gave up some personal time to connect via Skype to make sure our teen stayed on schedule to insure she would finish the course in a timely manner. I feel blessed to have had someone pass on Robert's name to me when I was looking for help. I am continuing to use Alpha College Prep throughout both of my daughters high school careers and will definitely use them for ACT and SAT tutoring. I highly recommend their services, and words really can't describe how thankful and amazed I am for their top notch tutoring service.

My daughter Emma really struggled with math from the time she was in first grade. We had her tested and she had a learning disability in math around processing information. In 8th grade we started her at Alpha College Prep once a week for math tutoring. Her math grade went up to an A every year in math and she became more confident in math as well. We are thrilled that we found Alpha College Prep! It helped our daughter immensely! Love them!

My older son did ACT prep at a small Berkeley organization with great reviews. The appointments were at odd hours and the teachers changed all of the time. His scores improved, but I couldn't help feeling better existed. And I was right. I tried Alpha Prep for my younger son and have found that it is THE BEST! They are super friendly, personal, flexible, caring, smart, funny, bright... the list of superlatives could go on and on but suffice it to say that I recommend them highly. Oh, and they are affordable! Thank you Alpha Prep team.

My son has been going to Alpha College Prep for almost 2 years utilizing chemistry and math tutoring with Robert, SAT test prep with Taylor and now college essay writing with Jennifer. Both of us have been quite happy with the tutors and staff at Alpha. Academically, my son has raised his gpa, test scores and equally important, learned the subject matter. The tutors understand how to work with teenagers and my son feels more confident in the subject areas after his tutoring sessions. Lastly, their rates are reasonable and hours are flexible to suit the needs of students. We've been to other tutoring centers in Berkeley and El Cerrito, but none of them has produced as great a result as Alpha.

Our son got a perfect 36 on the ACT and very good scores on the SAT Subject Tests (760 and 800). The test prep he did with Alpha Prep absolutely helped. He improved steadily on mock tests throughout the course of the year, thanks to individual sessions once a week from September to May of his Junior year. He worked with Jennifer, Taylor, and Jonathan, who truly focused on our son's specific needs and learning style. The personalized approach makes all the difference!
