Super friendly team! I was having trouble with my rear brake and Maximus got me set up quickly. Spent the rest of the day enjoying my bike around the city. Big time recommend.

Fast service and affordable price for a student like me ?. Mike was really nice. Their card reader is gone haha ?, so bring cash/check. I forgot to bring my wallet, and Mike casually asked me to return next time. Glad that I managed to venmo another mechanic in the store. Highly recommended!

Friendly service and I love to go there. Reminds me of the shop I bought my first serious road bike from. it was in a basement under a restaurant. Filled with all kinds of bikes and parts and when you asked the owner for something he knew exactly where it was. it takes me back to many years ago in my life.

Mike and his team are professional, respectful, and all around just pleasant to work with. I brought in my Yoeleo R12 for help correcting the front derailleur on my bike and also to work on changing out the stem on my bike with internal cable routing. Mike was awesome about updates and importantly just did really good job getting the bike in order. Keep up the good work!

If I could give 0 I would. This shop and its owner is not professional and to be honestly shady. Long story coming. We are a host family of a student work program. It's an au pair program. We have a wonderful au pair who bought a bike on Facebook market place that needed new tires. She is new to this country, on a student income and took the mike to this shop to get the tires fixed. She was quoted between $40-60 for the repairs. They decided to do $140 worth of work without asking her. They said they called her.. but she confirmed she has no missed calls or voicemails. Without confirmation from her they did a bunch of work including a $45 safety inspection fee (not disclosed to her either). She came to me upset and was going to just leave the bike and take the loss. I called the shop and I was not rude! I was clear and firm how it's not good business to preform anything that will cost more money than quoted without permission and she is sweet and kind young girl with limited resources. And you don't know what peoples financial situations are and can't always afford more than quoted. I also stated for what they were charging her she can buy a newer bike for that money. The owner seemed nice and kind and said he understood and that he was not shady or trying to take advantage of her etc. he agreed the person working in the bike, not him, made a bad call doing all the work without confirming. So we agreed to meet in the middle and take off the inspection fee, and she was still paying well over what she was quoted, but we both felt it was fair. She just went to pick up the bike, the owner was rude to her, telling her how her boss yelled at him.. I didn't.. then he pumped air in one of the tired and popped it.. replaced it and then said he was going to charger her again more than what we agreed. He originally quoted up to $60. We agreed on $86 and today he said no $125. She was so upset and uncomfortable she said keep the bike... she took a full loss and now doesn't have a bike. He was rude to her the whole time and made her very uncomfortable. This business is shady, the owner is not kind or ethical. I recommend going elsewhere!

One of the best experiences I've had anywhere. I came in with a bike with some axle issues, and was told straight out that they would advise me not to spend any money on it (although they would of course be happy to fix it if I wanted them to). He took his time to explain to me all the things that are wrong about the bike, and tuned up the brakes to make it safer for me to use at no cost. I will definitely come back here, and could not have asked for better service in any way. Amazing people, amazing service.

Mike was amazing and so helpful.Me and my partner went to this bike shop 2 minutes after closing time. We debated on whether we should go in or not but seeing that the door was open we thought it wouldn’t hurt to just go ask, since all we really needed was some air in our tires. Thankfully after talking to them they said it’s no problem if we wanted to use their pump to pump our own tires. Then, a kind person named Mike asked us if we were ok and even adjusted our brakes for us. He told us that it would be better if the brakes and handles were facing downward and even proceeded to make that change for us. Even after all that, He gave us an adapter for the gas pump so we could pump it up ourselves. He kindly said he doesn’t need payment and that the only thing he wanted to do was ensure that our bike was safe for us.Truly a gem run by the kindest and most amazing people. Thank you for taking your time to help us!

Very nice service here. Changed an inner tube for $25, lower than I expected. I didn't know it's cach only, but they let me ride the bike home and pay at a later time. Such a friendly neighborhood bike shop. Thank you!

Bikes on Solano is great. Good mechanics who are not trying to sell you unneeded parts and services. I have been looking for a bike shop I can trust and mechanics who would talk bikes with a novice like me. Bikes on Solano is the place. Mike is both a natural teacher and super affable. Another mechanic, Ian, solved my bottom bracket creak without charging anything. They are about bike culture rather than squeezing money out of their customers. Much better than nearby alternatives. Here is an illustration. I had a persistent noise when pedaling my cyclocross commuter. Another (bluer) bike shop looked at the bike. Their solution: completely replace the crank set, $260. I did not want to spend that much so they put it back together again for $60. I then took it to Bikes on Solano, and Ian fixed the noise in 15 minutes. No charge. He also noted that whoever had put it together previously didn't do normal greasing and tightening. (The other bike shop.) Easy fix, but the other place decided not to do these basic tune-ups for some reason and just tried to sell me parts. If you want knowledgeable mechanics who dig bike culture and don't overcharge, Bikes on Solano is your spot.

I came for a bike rack and the staff helped me put it on. Unfortunately their credit card reader was broken, so I had to come back with cash. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Broad selection with lots of stuff. The store is full to the brim with bikes!

This local bike shop has friendly staff and whenever there is a certain bike part or tool I need I always call this place to see if they have it in stock. The gentleman on the phone can answer your questions over the phone but sometimes it’s best to bring the bike in to them so they can best help you find the right part or leave it for repair if necessary.
