I entered without an appointment and was happy they could fit me in, but my pedicure was rough, and brusk. I used their restroom which was unclean, the walls, baseboards and windowsill were dirty. I won’t be back.

Not skillful whatsoever and rushed the entire time. She didn’t fully remove the original nail polish I had on and it let my manicure looking clumpy. She got nail polish all over my skin and I had to remove it. It’s been one day and they’ve already started chipping . Definitely would not recommend

Would NOT recommend. did both pedi and mani, french tip, $70 total. (they said french tip is extra $15) The lady who did the pedi was fast and nice but the lady did mani was impatient and not skillful. There's white nail paint outside of my nails and I had to ask her to clean it for me.

I am with the other reviewer who said if I could give zero stars or maybe minus stars I would. Rushed smudged and never cleaned up nails. Zero leg massage or hand moisturizer! Waited 1.5 don’t go!!! Worst mani pedi I have had in my life and that’s a lot of years. Ugh!

They are HORRIBLE at acrylic, they will say they know what they’re doing but they DONT. Shaping is is HORRENDOUS & polish is as if a 3rd grader did them. I DONT recommend going here if you want some cute nails to feel pretty. I’m disgusted and disappointed in this place

They are HORRIBLE at nails! DO NOT GO FOR ACRYLICS they say they could do something when they cannot and will mess up your nails soooo bad. And still charge you even though they messed up and do NOT know what they're doing. I'd stay away from this place. They don't know how to shape or apply acrylics at all whatsoever. Horrible place!

I went in today for a pedicure and gel manicure and the team did a great job. They were kind, responsive, and accurate the nail shape I asked for, gave my feet a strong scrub on my targeted areas, and gave my feet and legs a hot stone massage. I was seated in the massage chair the whole time, which was great. The price at the end was very reasonable for what a great job they did. This was my first time here, and I already told my sister it should become her new nail spot, too. I look forward to becoming a repeat customer!

This place is such a hidden gem. I was shocked when I saw the ratings. My experience has always been 5 stars. The women who work here, attention to detail, cleanliness, prices. Yeah it's not a day spa atmosphere, but if you don't need a lavender paraffin wax and just want to leave feeling good (with nails to match), this is absolutely the spot.

Unfortunately I cannot recommend this salon. It is very clean and I didn’t have a long wait, and everyone wore masks! I think mostly for the fumes, but for Covid reasons as a high risk person, it’s something I deeply appreciated.
However, my tech didn’t do what I had asked her to do. I think some of that was just a misunderstanding, so I’m not upset about that - it happens. I started my appointment with saying I wanted nail tips on all of my fingers and an almond shape and to use specific colors. She used my natural nails instead, and left my broken nail shorter than all the others and totally different colors (they were still the same vibe and got the job done, but it wasn’t what I asked for). All of my nails are not the same length or shape I asked for. I stopped her three times to tell her I wanted tips and was trying to compromise on just two that really needed them so she wouldn’t have to redo all of them. She finished the mani without tips despite me stopping her and asking for tips multiple times. She eventually pulled someone over and I settled for her redoing only my broken nail with a tip. It’s not a bad manicure for the virtual interview I had that day, but had I had this interview in person, I would have been really upset. I really felt like I was the problem even though I was kindly asking what was possible and trying to phrase what I wanted in a couple ways so it couldn’t be misunderstood. I left wanting to cry. It is not what I wanted or asked for and I will not be going back.

I love the Nail Shop! My sister has been coming here for years. I saw how cute her nails were and lo and behold, this is one of the best kept secrets in Albany. I got a gel mani and a Pedi for $40 cash. UNHEARD of nowadays with inflation. It took an hour. I had two ladies working in me. Both kept great conversation with me in English. The Pedi included a heel scrub and sugar scrub massage. The gel mani was so fast because they put the drying machine in your lap while getting the Pedi done. Will be back here more often. There is wifi too!

If I could give this place zero stars I would. Called in ahead of time as it was MLK day I asked if they had enough time to do a soak off and regular polish manicure they said yes if I get here within next 5 mins. I arrived and felt very rushed. I asked for soak off and they took my nails off with another nail tip!! They came off somewhat easy on a couple of them because I had a fill but still them pulling the acrylic off my nail beds hurt!!! I asked her why no soak off she said my nails were bad. LMAO WHAT?! Very pushy on getting gel even tho I said no multiple times. They asked me to pay before nails were done because “ can mess up nail easy with no gel” I said no that I wanted to wait. They used a cold towel from the sink usually hot towels are used on hands. Used barely any lotion and only soaked my finger tips for about a minute. When one nail got messed up I asked them to fix it and they gave so much attitude. They charged me for a soak off even tho I didn’t not receive oneVery rushed job will not be coming back again. EVER.

I was back in Berkeley for a day so I made a point to visit my favorite nail salon. I used to go there regularly to get mani/pedis and was always amazed at their prices ($25 for a mani/pedi)! It has been a few years since I had been there due to Covid, and I wasn't surprised to see their prices- finally- have raised to $40 for a mani-pedi. Still a great deal and they do excellent work. The ladies recognized me and said "It's been a long time since you've been here!". I always enjoy their massage chairs while I'm getting my nails worked on. And I generally love the Solano Street area for the cute ambience it has. The only negative thing I can say about the salon is that the staff talk loudly to each other in Vietnamese while they are working on your nails which is a little annoying, but very common in Asian nail salons. I wish I lived closer to this salon... it was one of my favorite places while I was living in Berkeley! Highly recommend!

bad skills, bad service, long waiting - the worst nail shop in my life. Not worth your time and money.

Honestly, I've been a client here for 19 years and it's my favorite salon. I'm always happy when I leave, they always take care of me, and in all the years I've been coming I've never had a problem. I highly recommend this woman owned salon for all of their services.
