They do have some good items, but the customer service is poor. I went in today, wanting to go to the pharmacy. The wait was too long (not sure why, just one person in line), so I decided to come another time. I picked up one grocery item to buy. I asked at the deli if they would ring me up but they refused. I then get in the "express" line - it took at least 10 minutes. So, all in all, about 15 minutes to buy just one item. I tried calling to speak to a manager but reached no one.

This is a comment about Safeway in general and not about this particular store: I almost always bring my own shopping bags but today I forgot. I asked for paper bags, and the checker told me they only have plastic. Only plastic? I'm am so shocked, with all we know about the environmental damage of plastic, Safeway can't even provide a paper option? I will never set foot in another Safeway as long as I live. Given their presence in California, a state that is burning up due to climate shifts, I'm appalled at their practices.

We came to this Safeway because it's supposed to be open 24/7 but when we got there the lady said they were closed. What??!! When we questioned her she said she had no staff and needed to close. I understand that, it's not her fault people didn't show up to work, but COME ON, Safeway! :(

I have been shopping at the Solano Avenue Safeway for about 56 years. It has had its ups and downs over the years, but mostly it has been good for me and my family. I appreciate the consistent staff there over the years, especially Cindi. Today I was fortunate to have a wonderful new checker named Ariel help me. He is familiar to me but not at this store. What a pleasure. I came away smiling. A nice smile and a friendly word, especially about the Warriors, goes a long way in making your shopping experience a good one. Give it a try and look for Cindi or Ariel.

This is literally the worst grocery store I have been to in every way. I have never just left a grocery store because they don't provide basic needs - until this one. I stopped here because it was the nearest Safeway on my way back home - big mistake. It clearly is terribly managed by whoever is in charge of this location. Products were completely bent and mangled throughout the store, if available at all. Most of the shelves were completely empty. It honestly shocked me that it was possible for a location to even be in operation still with such a low standard of quality and organization. I left this Safeway and went to one on Shattuck. Safeway, I'm not kidding, this location is in DEEPLY DIRE CONDITION.

Take your chances if you come expecting a 24/7 Safeway. This has supposedly returned to a 24/7 schedule after reduced hours through much of covid. However, it is random whether they will be open if you come here after dark. They were closed at 11:35 pm tonight, a Saturday night. I don't know if they have a manager here or if they just close the store when they get tired of the customers. Thankfully, the Safeway up the hill in Shattuck was open until their posted midnight closing time.

The worst place ever! I work graveyard shift and went in to try to go get some lunch only to be disappointed when I reached the door and there is a handwritten sign saying closed , I'm calling the Safeway phone number and it says that it's open 24 hours, and finally an employee that sitting down walks up to the window and asks me what the hell I want, I say isn't the store open 24 hours he says, it used to be. I said well when is it going to open up and be 24 hours again he says whenever the hell they change their mind and open it back up we're shortstaffed! He says wow and starts laughing to try to get a reaction out of me and walks away. I'm truly disgusted with the service at the store. If they're not 24 hours they need to list the proper hours!

This Safeway says they are open 24-7 but they closed at midnight last night. Even the automated phone system says they are open 24 hours.

The deli counter is not customer-friendly. The 2 times I tried to buy food, the workers ignored me forever then grudgingly provided minimal service. My last attempt to buy something was just plain weird. On a Saturday afternoon, the 2 people behind the counter appeared to be slicing meat on a mechanical slicer and didn't say anything to me despite my long wait and polite request for service. The female worker finished slicing, then puttered around for several minutes, never acknowledging me. Then she walked into a corridor and appeared to clock out. She returned to her work-station, talked to her male co-worker, said nothing to me and left the premises. Finally, the male worker came to the counter. I tried to buy the last of the Kale-Mango salad, about 1 1/2 cups. I told the guy I'd like to buy all the remaining salad, which would probably fit into the small plastic container. He put about two-thirds of the salad into the container leaving about an inch of emptiness at the top. I asked him to pat down the salad with his serving spoon and add the last half-cup of salad. He replied, no because the container would break. The salad seemed way too lightweight to break the container. I explained that I've packed the container in the past. I also pointed out that nobody would buy that last bit of salad. He still insisted that the container would break, so I couldn't buy the last half-cup of salad. Because the guy had an unfriendly tone of voice, I gave up and left the store.

Excellent selection of food. I haven't been here in years. I picked a beautiful cabbage from the produce section and took it to check out. That's when I discovered the sad truth. There were long checkout lines from hell, and the people totally ignored social distancing. Yes, they wore masks, but we all know how useless masks are. It was not safe. One star for food selection.

According to their own website this Safeway store is open 24 hours. When we arrived at midnight the doors were locked and when we asked the manger/cashier she barked, "yeah we open but I ain't got no employees and I ain't workin no double shift," and she refused to let any customers inside, hence Safeway's new marketing campaign: "we ain't workin no doubles." Unfortunately it's the only "24 hour" supermarket in the area.

The attached photo shows a drainage vent below the meat freezer display case. Needs attention!! Unhealthy accumulation of mold and steady dripping observed.

If you are looking for something hard-to-find and have to drive through 3 towns to get to this SAFEWAY, Do NOT trust the operator, demand a shelf-check or second opinion.

For some reason, one of the cashiers, Maria, is always super rude to me. Around Thanksgiving, I was buying a discount ham to help feed the hungry, and she gave me all kinds of grief, because the ham wasn't supposed to be marked down (supposedly). Anyway, the price tag was what it was, so she "allowed" me just this one to get the discount price. Whatever. I recently went back, and got this same woman. I put my items on the shelf area in front of the conveyer belt, waiting for it to clear before I put it on the belt (because COVID). I'm looking at the candies, etc. when she starts just tapping on the belt and yelling "Hey!" at me. The person in front of me want even cleared yet. She ends up not saying anything to me through the transaction, except to give me my receipt. "Here you go." I don't know how I ended up on this woman's s*** list, but I'm going to just avoid this store if I can help it.
