pros: straight to the point car repair/maintenance cons: can be some wait times. Can get a bit unorganized and chaotic but it's a trade off to having someone I trust work on my cars.My review of Upgrade is totally biased. As a decade + customer, I love Michael and his team working on my cars and giving me advice on them. It's important to note that while the customer service at Upgrade may not be up to par, the work performed by Michael and Guy is certainly noteworthy. Their technical expertise and attention to detail have earned them a reputation for producing excellent results. If you're looking for reliable and high-quality automotive work, Upgrade is definitely worth considering, despite the less-than-ideal customer service experience. Ultimately, the choice to work with them would depend on your individual priorities and needs. The works range from oil changes to major tune ups (belts, pumps, etc)

I've been a loyal customer for more than 10 years with all my cars. That includes VW GTI, Lexus IS300, toyota sienna, audi a4 avant, lexus CT200h, porsche 911, porsche cayenne and lexus NX. I've also referred my friends there and they all has great experiences! Edgar, the person that helps me every time knows his stuff and he will do extra and beyond to help out a customer! Not only is edgar helpful but all of their people including the boss are honest. If they feel like its not something you should waste your money to fix, they would just tell you for cost saving. THANK YOU!!!

Google needs to update the address because this shop has moved to 2101 W Valley Blvd, Alhambra CA 91803. My dad has come to this place for years. Most recently he worked with Michael and he is thorough in identifying the issue with our water leak and also double checks to make sure it’s no longer leaking from another location.

Michael is super honest & I always trust his recommendations. He will tell you straight not to waste money on things that don't give you good return on your investment. I strongly believe "honesty" is the most important factor in choosing a auto shop. Also, they do good work. Michael only hire & keep good mechanics. I have been with Upgrade since in the 90's. It was recommended by my neighbor. Now I have moved to N CA, I still occasionally bring back my car to Michael. I also recommended them to my in-laws in LA.

Been coming to Michael for years, the only honest mechanic in Socal. He tells you the way things is, doesn't sugar coat anything.

I am updating my review after I got my car serviced last Saturday. I got there just shortly before the shop opened at 8:30 am. At most, there was only one couple ahead of me. I brought my car in for an oil change, but I specified that I also needed someone to take a look at my oil leak because my car was leaking oil about 1 to 2 drops a night. Michael wrote down my phone number and said my car should be ready in a few hours. I assumed that since he had written my phone number down, and because I had received calls in the past when my car was ready, that he would call me that Saturday. I had already taken RideShare to a nearby Starbucks while my car was being serviced. However, by 3 pm, I still had not heard anything. So I called and asked him if my car was ready for pick-up, or if he needed to keep my car longer to work on. I told him I could arrange to get a rental car if he felt that he needed to service my car longer. He said my car was ready. So I took RideShare to pick it up before his shop closed at 3:30 pm. However, much to my dismay, I don't think he even took a look at the oil leak at all. Earlier this week, I noticed that the oil leak from my car were more and bigger (5-6 drops per night this week versus 1-2 drops per night last week). I really felt like I wasted my Saturday getting my car serviced because it was even worse than if I had not even taken it in at all. When I picked up my car, I noticed on the invoice where he had written my phone number down (but did not call me) that he didn't even write my name, even though I have already gone to him for at least 3 or 4 times this year. You can imagine how "valued" I felt as a customer when I saw that. Needless to say, I will be looking around for another auto mechanic. I won't be coming back.

I have been taking my cars to Upgrade for at least 15 years. They are very honest and David is a great mechanic.

There's nothing more valuable than an honest mechanic and Upgrade has been my go-to for 20 yrs and for my parents 15 yrs before me. They helped rebuild my Mazda Rx7 engine to give me additional trouble free use for 5 yrs until I sold it and then again with my BMW 5 series both an engine and transmission rebuild for additional 8+ yrs until sold. I trust them with service for all my cars after warranty: Honda, Toyota, BMW, Audi. Like other reviewers have said they really know cars and they are efficient and affordable. Michael and David are the best.

It maybe just an empty field but I've never had a better upgrade to my auto service. And, the customer service is something you just have to experience for yourself! Full disclosure, it's difficult to find this little gem because it's fenced off with no access. But, if climbing an 8' fence and ripping your jeans isn't worth the best upgrade auto service of your life I don't know what is. I'd do it again, in a heartbeat!
