Alpine Base Area at Palisades Tahoe offers a great skiing experience with a variety of terrain. Many visitors enjoy the mountain’s awesome runs, especially since it tends to be less crowded than Palisades Tahoe. It is known as a good place for families, with a good family slope and friendly staff. The chalet restaurant is a highlight, especially on sunny days. The area has many runs, but beginners may find limited green options and sometimes get lost on the signs. Parking can be a challenge, with a reservation system that some find stressful, and limited spots during busy days or special events. Despite these issues, Alpine is connected to Palisades Tahoe’s lifts via the Base to Base Gondola, making access easy. Visitors appreciate that it feels more European and less crowded, and staying nearby makes the experience more relaxed without dealing with the complexities of the Village. Overall, Alpine offers a good, convenient ski experience with friendly service and great terrain.
Amazing for Snowboarder. Long trails not too many people.

Used to make an annual pilgrimage to Alpine from Colorado every March to ski the spring corn on the High Traverse. A good vertical drop and consistent pitch guaranteed fantastic skiing on snow as smooth as a dance floor. Carving huge pendulum turns all the way down. What a ride!
