“Truckee Roundhouse is one of the most inspiring and innovative community spaces in the Truckee–Tahoe region. It’s so much more than a makerspace—it’s a creative hub where people of all ages and skill levels can learn, build, experiment, and connect. From woodworking and metalworking to textiles, ceramics, 3D printing, and digital fabrication, the range of equipment and workshops is incredible.
The staff and volunteers are knowledgeable, supportive, and genuinely excited to help you bring ideas to life. Whether you’re a beginner trying something new or an experienced maker working on a detailed project, the Roundhouse offers the tools, guidance, and community energy to make it happen.
Their events are fantastic too. The annual holiday fair, classes, camps, and open studio nights highlight just how special this place is for locals, families, and creative professionals. It’s a welcoming environment that encourages curiosity, hands-on learning, and collaboration.
If you’re looking for a vibrant, community-driven makerspace in Truckee, the Truckee Roundhouse is truly unmatched. A wonderful asset to our region and a place that continues to inspire creativity year-round.”
“We had a family gathering and went to this beach most days as it was in walking distance to the cabin.
Loved the beach, the morning exposure in the shade in the afternoon.
For me that is the best!
The pebbles instead of sand were soft and comforting on the bottom of my feet And didn’t get lost in uncomfortable places at Sand does lol!
There is lots to do for a full day… Playground, Boca courts, basketball courts, plenty of picnic tables, grass and shade.
We love the west side of Lake Tahoe, and all of our future family events will be here!”
“A nice local art shop along the main road in Tahoe City. The lady was nice and we liked the mix of different art from various amount of artists, even with the jewelry being made by the cashier. Worth a stop to see some local art.”
“First place to stop when visiting Tahoe City and the North Shore. Kim and the crew do a great job. If Ed's working be sure to chat with him, it's worth the time.”
“Went to the center to get advice on a quick itinerary for a 5hour visit…Eline was great, she picked up quickly on our limits and provided us with an excellent tour itinerary along the lake etc…BRAVO??”

“I was thinking about donating to your bear rescue after I saw the story about the bears you're helping that are living in the crawl space in Tahoe. But your reviews are terrible! And none of the reviews are about how you treat animals, all the negative comments are about rude people working for you, and I would guess you're run by rude people otherwise this behavior would NOT be unacceptable. I'll give you five stars because it appears you do help bears, in the hopes that you can improve this aspect of your business. You drive away interest from people who would like to help, and donors. Please treat people with respect.”
“I have a child with special needs, and Achieve Tahoe has been an incredible help. All of the tutors are experienced, kind, and truly dedicated. They keep detailed notes, so each new coach understands my son’s level and can get hands-on quickly.
At first, I wasn’t sure whether I could trust leaving my son with the coaches, but it turned out he worked very well with all of them and had a great time. He continued to make progress after each lesson.
I am extremely grateful to have found this wonderful service at Lake Tahoe. It is such a blessing for families with special needs in this area. ?”
