About Lions Tigers & Bears The San Diego Animal Sanctuary
Lions Tigers & Bears is an animal sanctuary, not a zoo, dedicated to rescuing animals from situations involving backyard owners, breeders, neglect, and the entertainment industry. The mission is to save abused wild animals and provide a place for them to live out their lives in peace and comfort. The sanctuary is located in a nice setting and features very large, secure, and clean enclosures for the animals, which include lions, tigers, a beautiful white tiger, jaguars, bobcats, Himalayan black bears, and a grizzly bear. Visits require a pre-booked appointment, which ensures efficient entry and limits crowd size to a small, relaxed tour group. The staff and volunteers are incredibly friendly, welcoming, and informative, providing plenty of time to see the animals. The experience includes a video presentation and a walking tour that lasts over an hour, offering a valuable learning experience about the animals' plight and the sanctuary's work. While the stories of past mistreatment are sad, the atmosphere is one of hope and love. A highlight for many visitors is the unforgettable opportunity to feed a lion, bear, or tiger, an activity reserved for adults. The sanctuary has a relaxed, chill vibe and does not specifically cater to children, making it best suited for visitors 18 and older. It is a unique and versatile venue, considered a cool place to host events or simply relax. Overall, it is an amazing, heartwarming, and fun experience, well worth a visit to support this good cause.
We were the only two people on the tour. We had a great time.

This sanctuary was absolutely amazing. The staff was so knowledgeable, and the amount of care put into the animals and facility was remarkable. Hands down the best zoo/sanctuary I have ever been to. So amazing to see them so well cared for, and that the staff care so deeply about their well being. Definitely recommend!
