“This is the best place to stay when near Alturas. In addition to rooms, there is a bar and separate restaurant. The bridal suite is immensely spacious. The main dining room is used infrequently but could certainly host concerts. Had the pleasure of meeting Jennifer, the owner. This hotel is said to be haunted but we didn't encounter any ghosts.”
“It made me feel really relaxed and well taken care of, which was exactly what I needed after a long day on the road. The room was clean and quiet, and the bed was comfortable enough that I actually slept through the night for once. I had a small issue with the coffee maker, but the front desk girl switched it out for me within five minutes without any attitude. Breakfast was basic but everything was fresh and not swimming in grease. I liked that the parking was easy to pull into after dark. I would definitely stay here again next time I pass through Alturas.”
“I book rooms for the company that I'm employed with. We have stayed at the Trailside for many months with multiple rooms. The staff is very accommodating. Sometimes we have to cancel or check out early because we are a construction company, and the schedule changes from week to week. They are very understanding to our situation. The staff is always friendly and the rooms are clean. If in Alturas, I highly recommend staying at the Trailside Inn.”

“Great value for the price! Booked the room through booking.com. We were running late so we made sure to call ahead and let them know we would be arriving late into the night and they made sure to save the room for us. It was super roomy, clean, and the a/c worked perfectly. The worker made sure to let us know about the free breakfast that comes by staying here. The free breakfast is a burrito from the Valero nearby and it was delicious!”

“We just walked in to our room. Yes, it is an older hotel but for an older hotel our room is very stylish and IMMACULATE! The beds are very comfortable and I am waiting for back surgery. Cindy the manager was as nice as could be. I love to travel and I have stayed everywhere from Motel 6 to the Ritz Carlton in Kapalua, Maui and I would not hesitate to recommend this motel. I chose this hotel from reading the excellent reviews. We stayed in room 8 and the air conditioning was wonderful.”
