I don’t care what others may say…The pharmacy in Safeway/American Canyon is basically the BEST pharmacy in “AmCan”.I genuinely look forward to making more than small talk with the pharmac-techs AND pharmacists (—like Gloria!). I’ve always loved her demeanor honestly…She LEGIT makes me “know“ she DOES feel bad when my family’s insurance is taking longer than THEY should to approve a prescription refill or if the location is out of stock.Between peoples’ insurances being extremely strict (sometimes it’s valid reasons; most times it’s not) on WHEN they decide to get around to said approval, and the pharmaceutical warehouses being conveniently “lacking“ in supply on ONLY controlled medications (like Concerta), I could NEVER aspire to be a pharmacy tech even…Pretty sure ANYone (competent or no) get more flak than the bare minimum allegedly “deserved”, being in a position of keeping human society in mental check. I ALways make sure my “extended family“ know at least I acknowledge what they must go through.Being that I’ve heard OF entitled jerks via “r/slash” on YouTube, and knowing employees “have” to deal with verbal abuse from random customer, legitimately makes me WANT to tell someone like that off…Just like I did with my younger sister’s elementary school bully to basically keep in line or I’d MAKE him, I’ll be willing to fight for my extended family too…Too Long; Didn’t Read?:…Then actually READ it.

We go often to this pharmacy. The staff is super friendly and very competent! Also very knowledgeable! Wonderful staff, super happy with the service and pricing! Both the pharmacists really care, and even of we’re just walking by, shopping, they still acknowledge and wave. Definitely recommend!!

They take appointments for shots and don't have to wait in the pharmacy line (to the left). You can ask at the other line to the right.It would be nice if they had signage to let us know.

Overall a very nice story but my experience in the bakery department was dismal. It was my sons birthday and I wanted to buy him a birthday cake. The selection was adequate but I had some questions. After pressing the help button 3+ times over a 10 minute period I gave up and grappled something that looked ok. By the time I made it to the check out stand a lot of the fruit that decorated the top had come off and slid to the side. I told the check out guy I no longer wanted that one and that I would get another. Went back and pressed the button again with no one responding grappled a Tres Leche cake that looked like it had potential. When we served the bottom was so soggy it was falling apart, the cake part was stale, the icing non descript, but the fruit on top the only thing that shined. First, do you need more help so that your customers questions are answered. Do you need more help so that your product doesn't disintegrate before leaving the store. Do you need more help with your inventory so you are not selling stale products. I will still shop there for other things but will avoid the bakery

Safeway Pharmacy in American Canyon is the absolute best pharmacy! Darlene, Gloria, Trish, are tops! They are knowledgeable, caring, intelligent, and super kind individuals. My review is years in the making ! Thank you to them they are wonderful!

This Safeway sucks! Came and asked for some meat from the butcher and he lied that they were out even though I came back later and they have plenty out. Very unhelpful. Why come to a store where they don't won't to sell you their merchandises because of lazy workers.

I have shopped here for a long time but honestly think I will have to find somewhere else.Every time I go into the store I have difficulty finding what I need as shelves are empty.They also have a new system where you have to pay separately for all toiletries medicines or alcohol.You are generally not even allowed into this section untill you pay separately for your other items.Lines are always very long even during daytime hours and most busy people do not have time to wait in two long lines.Kind of defeats the reason for a supermarket. The final issue is a new one.The store is open untill midnight but no checkouts are open past 9pm.Only checkout is the self checkout.These are not suitable for multiple items as they often malfunction.Few staff are available or willing to help with this.It also limits what items can be bought as self check out items are restricted.Unsure if this is down to staffing or so called progress but it is making the lines even more epic than usual.

Safeway Store in American Canyon is very helpful and professional. I recently ordered groceries via the app. I then had a family emergency and had to cancel my grocery order. After having called a couple of other Safeway stores, I found out that this was the store that delivered. I spoke to a young man in Customer Service who very kindly helped me, unlike the 2 other stores who spoke to me like I was a pest. I wish I asked his name. Thank you young Man. I grew up in American Canyon and every time I visit I swing by Safeway, after all it is the largest grocery store in American canyon other than Walmart. Today I went to purchase last minute flowers for my Father who is in the hospital and boy was that a mistake. It seems from the sight of the flowers "last minute" is the perfect description to replace Safeways word "fresh" because clearly based on the condition of the flowers Safeway gets the last of the fresh flowers. The selection was minimal which is to be expected from a grocery store however The flowers were dead and over priced. Nonetheless I spent $20+ determined to make my dad smile even with sad flowers. Once I got home to put the flowers in a vase the flowers went limp and had no support which was a facade due to the support of the rubber and and plastic wrapping. The worse part was not the dead flowers but the mold on the flower, leafs and steams. Imagine taking moldy flowers into a hospital where people go to recover from illness on top of covid. Over all I am very disappointed and the manager of the floral dept should regroup with the purchasing team about the quality of products in his/her dept.

Worst customer service from a cashier named Bobbie. I told her to have a great day and she rolled her eyes at me. "Wonderful" experience Safeway. I'll drive to Napa and shop at Raley's.

I come to this Safeway once a week & I haven't ever encountered an issue with any of the cashiers, being rude, but I have ran into the cashier Michelle & let me tell you. She is very rude & pushy. Usually the cashiers will chat with you NOPE not Michelle, she was silent the whole time she was ringing me up. Once I was finished paying she started ringing up the people behind me, while the young man was STILL bagging my groceries. Now if that isn't pushy I don't know what is. She gave the young man the stare of death because he wasn't doing it fast enough so I had to help him out. Michelle definitely needs to work on her customer service. If she doesn't like the job please go else where.

I go here often to buy groceries and the staff is really nice. Their products are really good quality, and the worker John was really helpful!
