Technology and Amazing ServiceOn conclusion of the Expo West food exhibition on Saturday evening we went to dinner at the Roy’s Restaurant in Los Angeles. We had a lovely meal served by Shannon. We returned to our hotel to pack our final bits and pieces before heading out to LAX airport to return home to Charleston, SC. It was at this stage I discovered one of my hearing aids, which were two weeks old, had fallen out of my pocket (not ear), somewhere. But where? The last place we had been was the restaurant. We tried calling the restaurant only to discover the their phones were out of order. We had to leave for the airport. En-route, my wife Rose, kept calling the restaurant for a long shot chance that my hearing aid had fallen out there. Next thing Enrique texts back to ask how he can help. Rose, a seventy four year old granny, texts him back explaining the story, and which table we had sat at, and could they look around and see if they could find it. Not expecting any good news we were flabbergasted when they came back to tell us they had found it.Dilemma, we were in the car on our way to the airport. My son Michael was driving and suggested we get Christopher (my other son) to call Uber Parcels and have the hearing aid sent to him. Christopher was flying back to Cleveland, GA early next morning. My wife texts Enrique to say Uber Parcels is on their way and would be there in four minutes. The driver actually arrived two minutes early and collected the hearing aid. Twenty minutes later he had delivered the hearing aid and it cost me $10. I sat in total disbelief at how quickly everything had happened. I was so impressed at the service Enrique gave us. But equally impressed at how Uber Parcels stepped into action to get the hearing aid from the restaurant to Christopher in such short order. Christopher was flying to a completely different destination to us but we would be meeting up with him in three days time. I was also super impressed with my talented “super granny” wife coordinating everybody and getting it all to happen. My faith in the goodness of people was restored and equally my appreciation of how modern technology solved this situation. Thanks to Enrique, Rose, Michael and Christopher.

Roy's was a wonderful dining experience during our stay in Anaheim. They made my baby's 7th VERY special! ? Definitely recommend to anyone more concerned about quality and value than the price tag! Great eats, no doubt!

Sadly, the service at Roy's in Anaheim is not like what I experienced two years ago at that location, or ever at any of the Hawaiian locations. We experienced: a lack of knowledge about menu contents by our server, who could also not answer questions about entrees. Broadly, there was a lack of knowledge of fine dining service, I.e., opened wine bottle but did not test or serve; placed wine bottle In ice bucket that we could not reach and never at any time poured wine for us. The wrong entree was delivered and our server left quickly before verifying we had what we ordered. We had to flag our server down as he failed to check back with us regarding the entrees (or any other course). By the time the mistake was corrected the correct entree was 3/4 eaten. The corrected entree was a sampling plate and 1/4 of it was severely overcooked. The manager never checked in about the primary mistake and no consideration of mistake was given. Desserts were delivered without silverware and we had to ask to get coffee refilled - but the bill was delivered promptly. Our server was nice, but not trained properly and had zero fine dining experience. A sad $300 dinner on what was supposed to be a lovely evening out at my favorite restaurant in Southern California.

Went again, food quality has deteriorated. And I never received any coupon despite asking me to fill out a form several times.

Our waiter was nice but the overall experience was terrible and we have been to different Roy's in the past. First our water glasses were so dirty. Our waiter was kind and got new ones but this time there was something in the water. Finally got a decent one the third time. Then we must have killed about 10-12 flies/gnats. It was so gross and so annoying. No joke. At least a dozen. We moved tables and while it was better we still came across another 3. Just terrible for the price.

The service was most excellent! Our server Que( maybe Qu) went above and beyond to see to our needs! He was very helpful in suggesting ideas for us!! The appetizer, The canoe appetizer for two was great!! The only negative was the shrimp salad, though it was good, it lacked in presentation! Overall a very nice experience!!

We were a party of four and got a table that would be ok for two. It was difficult to fit our plates and glasses on the table. The waiter did not really care. When we sat it took ages until someone showed up to order drinks and until they came it took ages as well ... and this was the theme of the whole evening. .....waiting.....The noise level in the restaurant was terrible and hard to conducts meaningful conversation. Taking into account the price level the evening was a disaster

I really do hate that. I can only get this restaurant three stars. Our party of 8 waited over an hour for our food to come to the table. After working at the Anaheim Convention Center for 3 days, and on our feet all day, we all were exhausted and hungry! We weren't informed of what was going on. The waitress finally acknowledged there was a problem. Not the same Roy's up scale I've enjoyed in Scottsdale.

Service was terrible. Prices are very expensive. Food was ok but not a lot to eat. Shrimp dish was room temperature not hot. Very disappointing. Wait time for food was unacceptable. Very noisy!

The brunch menu is small, but the offerings are all delicious. We had enough in our group to try one of each item. Unfortunately, the food took nearly an hour to come out. We were the second group to be seated, with another couple that had arrived before us. The restaurant was not crowded at all for Sunday brunch. Not sure why it was such a long wait for the food. There used to be validated parking, but it is no longer a service they provide. So expect to pay full price for parking. The other small shops in the center do not validate either. Will probably not go there for brunch again as there are many other places that have better offerings.

We arrived at 6pm, restaurant was at less than 1/2 occupancy. The dinner for 3 adults and our 7 yr old grand daughter started off as a 6 out of 5 stars. The waitress was terrific and we were excited to be at Roy's. Cocktails, then appetizers went very well, waitress was checking frequently. We wern't rushed and then we placed our starter and main course. 2 of us had lobster bisque. As with the appetizers (pot stickers and Brussel sprouts), the soup was great. Just prior to our soup coming across the aisle a party of 12-14 was seated. I joked with the table that it was a good thing we placed our entree order in before they arrived. This is when the bottom fell out of the whole evening. First thing was as we finished 1st round drinks that the waitress was not visiting much now. Then as we finished our soup starter course the attention pretty much vanished (other than the busser who was quite frequent)... time passed and I realized something was off now... then the entrees for the large table started coming out.... more time passed as we watched the large party receive their meals. More time as they were finishing their food... It was obvious at the 25-30 minutes past the time our starters were removed that we were perhaps quite overdue for our entrees. This was coupled with needing to ask for our waitress to reorder drinks. Finally the dishes came out, I was just about ready to cancel them and leave, but with family and as it was my birthday dinner I did not - something I regret now. The mood at the table was now ruined. when the entrees came the plates were searing hot but my fish (black cod @$54) was tasty but the fish was quite tepid almost cold. We were all ready to just get the check and leave (the large table, I recall left) and so we declined desert and asked for the check. The small plate with one lit candle came but alas a bittersweet gesture. I asked the waitress what happened? Check was $380/ tip $70 $450 total. Expensive train wreck night

The food was delicious and the service exemplary. The only downside was the dark and uninspiring ambiance along with pesky gnats that kept flying around our food. We got rid of four but others kept appearing. It was difficult to really enjoy the food.
