Its a decent store with high prices. We were visiting the area and I stopped in to pickup some TriTip. Sadly, the TriTip had a lot of extra fat on it and it was the absolute worst TriTip. The meat looked amazing on the outside, but it was the worst kind of TriTip and most TriTips are pretty good. I wanted to make it last for three days but literally threw it in the garbage? We did somehow manage to eat some of it between the odd gristle and weird kind of fat in it. It had so much gristle in it that it dissolved into nothing. Weird! Absolutely the worst piece of meat I've EVER bought! The steak was $38.00 on the pricey side. Bad, bad, bad meat that I was hoping to eat the next day. This has never happened with a TriTip before? I was not a happy customer and when we're paying that much for a TriTip someone needs to be checking where this stuff is coming from because it was absolutely terrible terrible meat! Even my husband told me to throw it out? And for him to say throw it out, you best know it was a complete waste of money.

Angels Camp SaveMart is neat, well-stocked and employees are terrific. Haven't had the ol' "hmmm, I don't think we carry that" which translated means "I don't have time/want to look for it". Everyone friendly and knowledgeable about the stock. No need to go further for all your essentials.

We stay at Angels Camp at least once every year. We always come to this store for groceries because the people here are always very nice and friendly.

Health code violations galore. About a 1/3 of the customers were not wearing masks and at least one cashier was not either. No one was enforcing it. Gave it two stars because it has everything I needed, but will try another grocer next time.

Long story short- This Save-Mart has health code violations and horrible customer service (don't go here). I went into the store and wanted to get some lunch eat so I went to the deli counter and waited in line patiently for 5 minutes before being spoken to. While I was waiting I saw a deli employee put clean sanitizer towels from a red bucket into a dirty towel bin, then another employee took those towels out of the bin to be used again, this is cross contamination. Health code violation? Most definitely. I figured oh well, hopefully it won't affect me, so i asked for my lunch meat (kept an eye on those towels) and the employee said that she would slice my meat after she was done slicing the lady's order who was before me in line. I kindly said thank you, no problem. After waiting 5 more minutes the lady in front of me still didn't recieve her lunch meat so I asked her if she thought they could be using the other meat slicer. The lady behind the counter overheard me and immediately got defensive saying, "we can't use that one because it shreds the meat up." I asked if they get it sharpened by someone since they are a chain/corporation?(this would prevent the meat from shredding) She then asked me if I had a problem and I replied "no, I was having a conversation with the lady in the line, and you overheard it." Then she got even more mad and asked if I wanted to see a manager and I said no, If I wanted a manager I would find them myself.

I like this Supermarket. It's a little drive away from the ranch, but worth it when we need to grocery shop. Came here about three times with in my last stay at the ranch. One thing I like the most, you can go the the meat department, and have them grill you up your choice of meat. I thought that was really cool. Make sure to call ahead of time. Supermarket is a bit pricey but there isn't much in the area. I tasted the nastiest hot wings ever. The wings were huge -- didn't have the flavor of hot wings at all. Wasn't even spicy. I was hungry and needed a quick snack before dinner, that ruined it. However, the one small piece of chicken tender was good. I truly wanted to give them higher stars, but a few times I was uncomfortable taking to a few of the older workers. I sensed racism. They were rude and short when I asked a question. I expected it coming from a small town. But, over all I'll be back. Next time I may have to call them out!

Save Mart was closed on Christmas day and we ended up driving to Sonora to pick up groceries when we were in Angel's camp for a vacation last week. Was a little annoyed but that went away on the subsequent trips to Save Mart. I thought this was going to be small grocery store with limited options but it is BIG and just as good as a Safeway.

not sure it is worth leaving a review, since most of the "high marks" come from tourists happy to find a large store. My profile shows WA but I am living in Angels Camp for the winter. SaveMart has been my go to, but it sure seems poorly managed or there just is not good help available. Checkers and baggers gab away with each other, coming to a complete stop at times. One day getting a deli order all work came to a screeching halt when a local came in with a puppy...which he took back i to the deli area! I try to like this store as it has the best selection ( but meats are questionable). But it is so frustrating that customer service seems to be a secondary priority to social lives.

I’ve been working at Save Mart for 12 years. We’ve come a long way. We have a salad bar, hot foods and prepared salads, which are delicious

My family loves this place. We go up to Angels Camp annually if not twice a year and love this store. Well organized; great selection; great meat; and the pinnacle........great customer service! Everyone here is super nice and helpful. These are genuine nice people and they go above and beyond to help you. Always a joy. Make sure you go back to the butchers counter where they periodically bbq meat. This particular day is was tri-tip and chicken!! The whole place smelled amazing...... so amazing that we changed our dinner plans for the evening and bought some of that delicious bbq chicken. Just wish we had bought the tri-tip also.........hmmmm, next time. The guys know what they're doin!

I bought an electric pumpkin carving knife and when we tried to use it the day before Halloween, it turned out to be junk. Couldn't even cut through the pumpkin. I couldn't get back to save mart until the day after Halloween to return it and couldn't find my receipt. Manager "Zeke" was called up and didn't question me just gave me a refund. Great customer service. I'm a regular here and appreciated this.
