Graduate of class of 2016 with a average GPA of 3.0 over 4 years when a majority of my time spent at home was gaming. During the spring, I did track and field but I still had time for gaming. Point being, anybody can get good grades if they really want to while doing sports or hobbies at home. But the real reason behind this review is how center high school set up their students for failure. The school system has a huge responsibility when it comes to teaching their students about the nasty dark reality outside of school. Center high school believed it was more important to learn about Shakespeare than explaining how to do your taxes, how to be financially literate, and how to a functioning adult in this corrupt state of California. We are nothing more than a $$$ to this school system, they don't care about us but they force attendance otherwise they don't get their cut. Attendance should be optional, home school should be given as an option for those who don't want to waste time goofing around in school and want a early head start in life and work. You don't need a college degree to be successful nowadays. I'm not saying it won't be easy without a degree but schooling is just a waste of time and money if there is no 100% guarantee of employment after your degree. Look at what covid showed us, you can be unemployed for refusal of the vaccine or you could be the tens of thousands who were laid off because of the economy. Work for yourself, love yourself, and think about yourself. Center high school needs to expose students on lessons on how to survive after graduation, not preparation for college which is optional. The only thing great about center high school was the media communication academy (MCA) and the teachers. I've learned a lot of USEFUL knowledge from MCA that CHS could not provide which is quite absurd. I thank all the teachers for their support and guidance and encouragement throughout the years. Without MCA, center high school would've felt like a prison just like Wilson C. Riles. To all of the great teachers who have retired or are planning to soon, thank you for everything.

The saying is True, monkey see monkey do. A staff at the district and a staff at the school is the same. One attitude. With that said, no wonder their school rating is a 7. What family would want their child at this school? Relocation during this Covid19 Pandemic is already overwhelming and to deal with these 2 during a process that is so simply is frustrating. They made it unbearable when it doesn't have to be. Guess it all comes down to $$$ they get for a child to attend at their school. Living in another city but have to drive across town to another city because old district mapping makes no sense. When a school just open within 5 miles radius, we cannot get approve. So if it isn't about money then what is it? Yet, its okkkk for my family to waste money on gas when I can use it to put food on the table. Use that gas money to keep the electricity on and water running. No let's just use it to drive a 30 minutes ride to and from school, 1 hr total. Hey it's not their money so why care. That reason isn't good enough in those 2 eyes to approve my transfer request for my child. What is?
