So I began renting here in April at $95/month for a 10x10 unit. Within a few months, my rent crept up to $200+ before taxes and fees. COME TO FIND OUT, under the California Self Storage Facility Act, they’re required to give a 30-day written notice before raising rent. That never happened. Mind you, my current unit size is going for $80 online.
I’ve tried reaching the property manager and can’t get a response. Funny how they’re quick to threaten the lien process if you’re a couple of days late on payment, but don’t follow California law themselves. What a joke.
I’ll be reporting this to the Better Business Bureau because customers deserve transparency and fair treatment.

Review for Public Storage
I’m writing this from the heart because people need to know the truth. I trusted this place with my belongings, and while I was paying for my unit, everything I had was taken. Walking in and seeing my things gone felt like being robbed, but worse — because I was paying them to keep it safe.
To me, it felt like an inside job. The staff and the property manager acted unprofessional, cold, and like my loss didn’t matter at all. That hurt just as much as losing my things.
I want to warn everybody: do NOT leave your key with anyone in that office. Watch your back, because instead of protecting you, it feels like they’re watching you, waiting for a chance to plot against you.
This place is supposed to give you peace of mind, but for me it turned into heartbreak and betrayal. I wouldn’t wish this on anybody.

This company raises storage rent approx. $50.00 a month--every six months when you're renting a large unit--even though you could be a long term renter. i WOULD NOT recommend renting from them. They are making a lot of money and I think they're a bit greedy. For much of the time--there was also NO ONE at the site much of the time and you could only get them reaching out to their corporate office (I guess) and not a 'local management person' cause they didn't have one on site. when there was a local manager, the people were nice.

I've rented here at central self storage in Antioch for 8 years and never experienced anything like this. My lock on my unit was cut off and my valuables were stolen. Things that cannot be replaced were taken from me and I will never get them back. It was one of the worst days in my life. I felt violated and betrayed. I thought this storage unit was a safe place to keep ones dearest possessions. A person need a code to get into the gate, and to go to the 2nd and 3rd floor. You have to input your code to get out of the facility as well. They had security cameras everywhere. In the office they had a big security screen that showed multiple locations that were being monitored. I think that was used to give customers a false sense of security because our storage units was still burglarized. I wasn't the only victim to get rob their. Multiple people storage unit were burglarized at this facility. That manager, Jasmin Perez is barley in the office during business hours. When I went to the office to report that my unit was forced open and items were stolen, she wasn't there. I was banging on the door, and calling the office number, and there were no answers. About an hour later she appears in the office. Somebody needs to be held responsible for our storage units being burglarized. There is no excuses. They have that loser suspect on surveillance!

Be sure to have management clearly specify the "First Month Free Deal." It's NOT 30 days if you rent after the first of the month, it's the remaining days of "that" month. Customer service is not on site so good luck if you need help getting into your unit.

I'm hot! I've only had the storage for a Few hours. Let's start with yesterday, no Wednesday! Wednesday: I called around 5 PM website says they're open until 6 PM. When I call, it rings and then, it was like, someone picked up and hung up the phone on my face. Being gracious, I gave the benefit of the doubt, It's the end of the day they're probably ready to go home, OK Go over there tomorrow. Thursday: I arrived on the property. Try to go to the office nobody's in the office. There was even another individual outside inquiring about the storage place(asking me if I like it here). Told him I also trying to open a storage unit, so I didn't know what they are like yet. I go to the door there's a sign that says, something to the degree of "Closed From now on on Thursdays, due to on for seen circumstances sorry for the inconvenient". Again, giving Grace being patient I said, "OK that's unfortunate maybe something bad happen I'll come back tomorrow." Friday: I come around 11 AM again nobody is in the office. There are also two people waiting outside apparently trying to get in the office and talk to somebody. There's another sign on the door, a different sign this time, in addition to the prior sign stating that someone has COVID so they are closed. I get that but this is still a business, PHONES SHOULD BE UTILIZED!!!!! Apparently Central self storage is a franchise of some sort because when I made a phone call I'm assuming I got some type of corporate office. The lady was so big on selling me on the money and how much everything is gonna cost I asked if I could see the unit and she was just like yeah you could see the unit just go inside. I told her I was already here and nobody was in in the office. She said oh I wasn't aware that there was nobody in the office and then she went straight back to talking about the money portion, talking about how I could do everything online..... then I did . When I first tried to access my code and get into the storage unit area it didn't work so I said OK I'll give it some time gave it to ours came back. I was able to get in. But I can't find my storage unit, look for a map can't find a map. I said OK since I can't find a map I'll just go and explore and figure it out. Try to get on the elevator it's been like 30 minutes before I decide to write this review. I've tried to get into the elevator for freaking 30 minutes!!!! It says that you need to push the elevator button and then type in your code. The amount of times that I did this and it didn't work is absolutely 100% ridiculous. It's not working and the elevator is not moving!!!!!!!! So I can't even get upstairs to the storage unit WHAT THE ACTUAL F$&K!!! Why isn't the elevator working!!!!! After 30 minutes of trying to get the elevator to work I'll try and call somebody and their phones aren't working it just gives options to make a payment or leave a message for the property manager! DONT RENT HERE GUYS!!!!! Saturday: it's Saturday! i'm here again still can't get into my storage unit, I was told yesterday when I was on the phone that somebody was going to call me back a manager or something. No one ever called me. And again I AM STILL UNABLE TO ACCESS MY STORAGE UNIT!!! This is not ok! Or how you treat new customers.

Front desk is very helpful and very nice. Good affordable prices and very secure. ?
