Came in on a Monday night because our dog had ingested something toxic for the first time and was showing signs of tremors and shaking. This is our first dog/first scare and we immediately took him here based on a recommendation we received from a dog owner we met at our local dog park who said this was the only clinic willing to take their fur baby in during their dire emergency.Everyone from the front desk team to the doctor (I believe Dr. Ryan was his name) really showed our fur baby, including us, empathy, care and support during this stressful time. Our boy is now back at home and resting at home after the care he received. We are genuinely grateful for the staff that helped us tonight and we recommend this clinic to anyone in need of pet emergency services. Thank you VCA East Bay Vet Emergency team!

We found this place from our primary vet at Brentwood. Just in case if there's an emergency. Our pup accidentally act some cabbage which cause him to have diarrhea and vomit. We were really worried so we rushed him to an emergency. In the morning, only a few people were waiting. I registered our pup and they brought him in right away. Unfortunately, we had to wait a few hrs because the primary vet had not arrived yet. Later they brought us in. We had a consulation with the doctor and she decided to run some tests to make sure nothing is serious. She advised to go home and they will call us when he's ready.Good news nothing serious with his health from the test results. He just needed to take some meds to cure his diarrhea and vomiting. The next day our pup was back to his normal self.

Like many reviews start, I wish I could give this place 0 stars. They will leave your pet without treatment for more than 5 hours. We took our pet there at 11 and at 6 we called and said if our pet was okay, we wanted an update and they said he STILL hasn't received treatment. When I called and asked for an update they said "they took my dog on a walk" when he has injuries and bandages on ALL four paws, how is it possible he's "walking"? I understand it's a hospital and it gets busy, but they need to do better. It's ridiculous how bad this place is. They do not care about your animal. I didn't feel stressed when I got there because it's a hospital right, they're trained to take care of your animals UNTIL I read the bad reviews. This was the closest hospital in our area and they definitely take advantage of that. They charge you a ridiculous amount of money for TERRIBLE care and they have the worse attitude when dealing with grieving and scared parents of the pets. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE PLEASE.

I have needed these amazing folks twice in the last 4 months. They are compassionate and empathetic. They helped me get through two of the hardest days of my life. I hated that I needed them but without them doing what they do my babies would have suffered. I'm grateful to the doctors, nurses and the rest of the staff at VCA for being there for me in my darkest time and comforting and supporting me.

Thank so much for giving Big Frank a chance after his fight with a Coyote... Lame Thanksgiving but I was thankful to have had the chance to save him. They answered the phone right away, got him in as soon as I got there, they gave him ped med, xrays, IV, so we knew the truth that there was no saving him. We were able to be there as we put him to sleep. They were so great. Best wishes. Ignore the crazy karen reviews on here... with no life threatening emergencies you should wait.

VCA East Bay Veterinary Emergency is an outstanding operation available 24/7 and the first place we take our animals in an emergency situation. They are loving, caring and are there whenever we've needed them. I want to thank Dr. Lens and Sara for helping our family today. Thank you for taking such good care of our Sheltie. Thank you for being there when we need you. And thank you for your compassion, and your immediate attention to our little baby boy. We appreciate you more than you know. Thank you for being there for our family.

Update!!! My dog has cancer and ALL the symptoms she was having are very well known (to a real Veterinarian that knows what they are doing) symptoms of mast cell tumors. Not the ringworm Erin Hooper said it was! THANKFULLY her symptoms returned and I took her to a REAL vet!!! This disgusting excuse for a veterinary hospital set me back a month on treatment for my dog! If you want your animal to live... Go elsewhere!!This place is a joke! Waited 3 hours to see the vet, Erin Hooper. She doesn't smile, doesn't greet me or my dog, talks like a friggen child. (You've got a big girl job now honey, act like it. Talk like an adult!) Almost $1000 for tests that I was supposed to get results back in a few days, it's been just about 2 weeks and still can't get an answer. Take your dogs/ cats/ birds/ rats/ lizards / tarantulas ANYWHERE ELSE!!!!!!

Everyone on staff was really nice and very professional. I would definitely recommend this location to anyone in need of emergency pet care. Our 15 year bully had been throwing up for 2 days straight and would not eat. They were able to find the issue within a few hours. They also provided a solution that best fit our finances and saved our dogs life. THANK YOU TO THE WHOLE STAFF!!!!

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING STAFF!!!!!! just a few days ago my cat was in labor and it was a difficult labor, one of the kittens intestines were outside it's body so I brought the kitten in and unfortunately it had to be euthanized. I had $20 to my name (wasn't going to be paid for 3 more days and I explained this to them before I went in) but they wanted to make sure the baby felt no more pain so they dealt with that situation first and then discussed payment with me, the vet nurse came back in and told me they were covering the cost of the bill. THEY ARE 100% FOR THE SAFETY AND CARE FOR THE PETS THEY SEE. I do not have enough words for how amazing they were and how comforted they made me feel. THANK YOU SO MUCH VCA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Had a crazy couple of days. Brutus has us scared for the worse. He had a terrible seizure that forced stones to his urethra. And then continued to have 2 more seizures until we got to the hospital. He had to get emergency surgery to remove the stones and close the rupture in his stomach and we are finally home. He is trying different meds to control his seizures. But we are so happy to be home and resting. 2 hours after we got home, our other dog Luke was bit by a bug and had an anaphylactic allergic reaction. He was shaking, itching, ears were bleeding, then fell to the ground, I had to get him into the car as fast as possible and never drove so fast in my life to get him to the emergency vet. By the time we got there he was covered in mounds of hives all over his body. The vet pumped him with steroids and Benadryl to get him better. I have never had such a rough couple of days and couldn't thank the Antioch emergency vet enough. They are such angels in saving my dogs lives and supporting me to keep me and my pregnant self ok. They treated my dogs as if they were there own and the communication was excellent and they were so patient with us.

Awful!! The wait was ridiculous and no one on staff seemed to care about my cats burnt paw pads. They made her wait hours and hours and had the audacity to say that "she is very comfortable " needless to say this wasn't my 1st crap experience here.. other vet offices told me "don't take your pet there unless they are on the brink of death" it's very true! Will never go back and if your thinking to go here ..... DON'T!!! Or expect crappy care and LONG LONG wait times. If you love your animal... avoid it!!! Take your pets to VEG in San Ramon. Yes, it's a bit of a drive but worth every minute. They are 24hr emergency services and the wait is no more than 15min. Trust when I say that they care about animals there.

I wish i could give this place a 0. I noticed blood in my dogs pee and rushed her to the emergency. I was charged $1200 for blood work and urine test. When everything came out normal, I was asked to pay another $250 for x-rays to just to make sure there were no kidney stones. The doctor told me that the dog has a UTI. We were charged about $1500 and sent home with some antibiotics. The doctor informed me that she might have to change antibiotics after all her test results are in. Fast forward, I called the office to inquire about the test results/possibly switching the antibiotics since I was still noticing a small amount of blood. I was notified by the front desk that I will have to follow up with the regular vet and they don't do follow-up care. This is after I was told that the doctor will prescribe different antibiotics. Either the vet is inexperienced or the place is only money hungry. How is that it you charge $1500 to notify us that the dog has UTI and still not to able to treat it. The office obviously doesn't care about patient care and its all about the money. HIGHLY DISAPPOITNED!

We brought our beautiful Pug Ruby Cube to this facility. The care she received was absolutely amazing. I truly believe the reason our Ruby is home with us is because of the excellent care she received from VCA!Rick and I are beyond grateful for them! My pups will never go anywhere else for emergency care!We thought we were going to have to pay additional $ as she had been in the hospital for 2 days including an oxygen chamber…when we asked what more we owed….they said, nothing we are reimbursing you $450!Thank you again to all the amazing staff that gave our Ruby around the clock care!
