Having only 1 cashier open is an issue. Having to bag my own groceries is an issue. The Hispanic male manager always has an attitude. I will be shopping at stater bros from now on where I feel respected and appreciated as a customer.

Sorry for the long rant: The store itself and the rest of the employees get 5 stars. But unfortunately I'm rating it one star because of the incident that happened during my hiring process. I originally was very grateful that they were waiting for me to get my license until hiring me for the pharmacy, but the board of pharmacy took so long that I had to let someone else take the job. That was understandable A few months later I finally had gotten my license and re applied. Things were going smoothly until I had received a phone call from the store director, she was angry and rudely accused me of gossiping. It took me off guard considering just a few days ago everyone was so kind to me. She said since I had mentioned the pharmacist was retiring soon, that meant I was gossiping. Keep in mind no one told me to keep it to myself, and I had only brought it up in a congratulatory way. I am a very shy and nervous person and was just trying to make conversation (keep in mind too the only people I had talked to were the pharmacist and store director no one else). So basically I was treated as some sort of weird criminal for a small misunderstanding. The last half of the phone call she (store director) was criticizing me in a rude way about everything and passive aggressively told me "yeah we will definitely consider hiring you for clerk now" before hanging up. I was pretty hurt considering I had been waiting for this job for a long time and I had considered those two people good acquaintances. Anyways about a month ago I had dropped off a card to apologize, but I heard nothing back. My advice is: unless you want to be treated rudely, do not apply here. If they had no problem treating an applicant this badly, imagine how they treat their employees. Not to mention their hiring process is the worst. Corporate lists new positions weekly yet the store only hires like once every 3 years and they barely communicate with you during that. So good luck

I always have a good experience at this store. They have things that you don't find in some of your other grocery store chains, however you will pay the price. This is not the market to go to to save money. You will get your higher end sauces and spices, things like that, when you need an ingredient for recipe that is not as common you most likely can find it here, however you will not find much savings on items. I gave five star rating because the staff and quality of items. Staff are always extremely helpful, friendly and even late at night willing to help you find something or at least give a good effort to locate items. Customer service is very important and that alone is worth a five-star rating also the items in the store are of good quality and this includes the meat, produce and bakery. Again, nothing is cheap in the store. You will spend an average 30% higher for groceries here than you would at most of the competitor markets, but you will find what you need in almost all cases so you have to weigh your priorities. They are open until 11:00 p.m. at night which is very convenient for people like me who are busy most of the day and don't get time to get to the market until later in the night.

A very dangerous area to be at night. The area is experiencing a heavy flow of people from LA. and Mexico. Expect to see shady people all around.

Thank You! Bakery department for your outstanding strawberry whip cream birthday cake. Truly delicious stuffed with fresh strawberries and not so sweet whip cream. Also provided on same day as birthday for my daughter. Outstanding!

One of the only grocers opened on Christmas day along with its siblings stores (Vons, etc) and I'm grateful! Definitely did not plan out the holidays as well as previous years, but we got everything we needed and at fairly reasonable prices... It is your store after all (or so the old slogan would say). Albertsons of the High Desert is located in Apple Valley in shared shopping center with Walmart, McDonalds, O'Reilly's auto part and Taco Bell off Hwy 18 aka Happy Trails Highway. The Albertson's has a US Bank store branch (closed for the holiday, but ATM available) as well as a Sav-on's pharmacy (closed every Monday). You can find all the essentials from bakery to floral to deli departments and all your essentials... Beer, Wine and Spirits being on the pharmacy side entrance along the wall (technically the last isle of the store)... Was really impressed with some of the deals going on in these isles... including closeout specials (which of course were mostly gone giving huge red tag markdowns). Being so close to the famous Route 66, you can find some fun collectibles, gifts and souvenirs as well as some touches of R66's history. Being the only major grocer in Apple Valley open on Christmas day, it was plenty busy, however the Albertson's Apple V crew kept things flowing and somehow with more than enough holiday cheer... though that one gentlemen in deli was extremely upset with a customer who was giving him the worst x-mas with nothing but hostility... She blamed him for the department not being open like the rest of the store even though he didn't work in that section. She made him list off who she could've spoken to earlier to see if the department was open... I guess there was a misunderstanding because the physical store was closing at 3/30pm that day, but the deli department wasn't open at all... But she took that out on him O.O even though he wasn't there in the morning and had just started his shift. It was pretty wild... Like the overall layout of the store itself.. I think it's a very Albertson's thing. A lot of refrigerated items you don't see as much in other chain grocers... Almost all the dairy as well as non-dairy was behind glass, like the frozen goods and beer. I use the Vons app when shopping here, but you can use any of the ones affiliated with Safeway, including Pavillons,... Same number and/or account across the board. Good customer service, plenty of parking, friendly security... Happy Holiday!

It's ok. Prices are ridiculous. Swear I'll go for a discounted item and it turns out to be more than the tag. How this place is here I'll never understand

Ok so the prices not great to much unless they have a sale on something but they get 5 stars because their grocery pick up is AWESOME and the fact that you can pay about $4 extra if you need something in 30 minutes or less, which they always have it ready in 15-20 minutes max love this makes it so worth it with little ones.
