“I would like to update any yelpers or readers about my call with Briana Lyle. Today 2/25/22 3:19pm I ended a call with Briana and I am left in awe as to how kind and compassionate she was on our call. I am very thankful I made yet a fourth attempt to reach her over the incident with her fellow employee Yoana. It is my hope that Briana is very well recognized for the way she cares about each customer and their in store experience. Everyday since that day I've driven in the area of this Safeway I can't help but to fee the negative feelings after my experience in the store that day while wanting to get a sandwich. Since my call with Briana, that feeling will change into a positive feeling as I am very thankful to know Safeway has a great store director. To Safeway Corporate, I hope she is recognized for the way she's handled this situation. I hope to speak with the area manager to give that person the positive news on the outcome of my bad experience.”

“Here’s the thing I love this little Safeway but Santa Cruz has gotten so big I walk in and want to leave. One to two cashiers and long lines make me dread grocery shopping. With all that I still love this Safeway and the people who work there been coming since I was a kid.”

“This review is about the pharmacy mostly. I was traveling and figured I'd stop by this Kmart and browse around. Before entering the store I noticed signs encouraging you to grab a free flu shot (with insurance). Why not? The whole experience was about the best I've had getting a flu immunization, the pharmacist had an excellent manner and was very friendly and explained everything plainly. If I lived in the area I'd fill my prescriptions here for sure. I hope to be back if Kmart continues on!”

“I have a wonderful experience today with Rite Aid Pharmacy at Soquel Ave., Santa Cruz. I am a care home owner. A new resident just moved in today and had 12 OTC medicine needs to fill up ASAP. I was extremely busy and would not be able to go to different pharmacies to find all meds and also make sure they are the right one to get. Duy, the pharmacy manager took my list and tell me that he would be happy to help me out and I can come back later to pick them up, which I did. One hour later, everything is ready there for me. Duy told me that he took the order but it was his co-worker Jeannie who helped filling them up. I am very touched not only by their professionalism but also their warm hearted attitude for their customers. I will definitely use their services again at Rite Aid! Many thanks to Duy and Jeannie!”

“Honestly don't know what the other reviews are talking about. Huge selection and huge store in general, biggest CVS ive been in. The staff is always so friendly and helpful. I was nervous to change pharmacies because of the reviews but I had a more than happy experience with the lady at the pharmacy who helped me out with my prescriptions and answered all my questions. She was kind and helpful and I really appreciated it :) The cashiers and I am assuming the manager who work at the front have always been very helpful as well and friendly. They do usually only have one person to check you out and one at self checkout so a line is possible but it is a line at a store? Very normal.... and no one is more special than the next? If you are in a rush then you should better manage your time, not blame the people who are working and helping you check out. Also self checkout exists and is usually empty! I would ignore these reviews as ive noticed scotts valley residents are a bit extreme........ Thanks to everyone who works at this CVS i am only able to imagine what the customer service is like and you are still doing a good job (i dont think i could) There are people who appreciate your work and jobs :)”

“At the risk of providing evidence of how ancient I am, I must admit that I have been shopping here since the 80's. Back when it was called Thrifty Drugs, then later PayLess Drug Stores, and now Rite Aid. Way before pharmacies like CVS started cropping up in every corner. Growing up in a small town like Watsonville, you had limited places to shop. Basically you either shopped here (formerly Thrifty Drugs), Woolworths, and Kmart for your prescriptions, over the counter medication, and for a quick, convenient location to pick up every day needs/general merchandise. I realize the younger generations reading this won't even know what Thrifty Drugs and Woolworths are. Let's just say that in the 80's these two stores, when combined, are equivalent to modern day Target stores. With the exception that Thrifty was also an ice cream shop where you could purchase ice cream by the scoop like Baskin-Robbins. Whereas Woolworths had everyday goods, including a pet store section where I purchased my first goldfish pet. Anyway, as a kid, I always looked forward to going to Thrifty with my parents because it always meant I would get treated to a scoop of ice cream of my choice on a cake cone. Back when I was little a scoop of Thrifty ice cream cost you just ten cents! Now a scoop of ice cream from Rite Aid is $1.99. I am glad that although Thrifty no longer exists, their ice cream lives on. You can still get a distinctive, cylinder-shaped scoop of ice cream at this Rite Aid and a few other West Coast stores. Thrifty's award winning ice cream has been around since the 1940's! It is quite the feat that until this day Thrifty's ice cream is still being sold despite the overwhelming competition. Many Thrifty ice cream recipes have remained unchanged for over 50 years! A California-based company continues to churn out quality, delicious ice cream that is made with real pieces of fruit and cookie, along with Real California Milk. I like that they have kept the nostalgic graphics and images on the tubs of ice cream being sold at Rite Aid. The vintage imagery really takes me back to my childhood. Remarkably until this day you can purchase a scoop of Thrifty's ice cream and even 48 oz. tubs of your favorite flavor. There isn't any other location in this area, where you can pick up your prescription medication and a scoop of ice cream. Talk about convenience! Especially on a hot, summer day. There are quite a few pharmacies in every town. Unfortunately the cashiers that ring up your prescription medication purchase and those that work at the main store's front counter are not usually the friendliest. I get it, they deal with the public as a whole and people can be impatient when it comes to picking up their medication. Honestly, nobody enjoys picking up medication. However when you do, you want to be treated with respect and for the pharmacy staff to not only be knowledgeable but courteous and friendly. This pharmacy has it right. All cashiers are generally friendly and helpful. The store is clean and modern with hardwood floors or laminate. I like how well lite and organized this store is. They have a decent amount of inventory and great sales too. Don't overlook the grocery and snack isles. There are often great sales to be found there. I'm not saying you can buy meat and produce here. They are mostly snack items and dry grocery goods. You will be surprised to find items way below their normal selling price when compared to a grocery store. I think the reason for this is because nobody goes here primarily to purchase groceries. Since they are not their best selling items and need to be rotated before their expiration date, they price food items at a really low promotional prices to get them out the door. Honestly I think that besides the pharmaceutical items, the alcohol being sold here is also a best seller. I haven't personally purchased alcohol here but I do see a lot of customers purchasing alcohol. Prescription medication and alcohol. Sounds like a party! Lol I think the biggest”
