Love the gas discounts for shopping at Safeways! Certainly helps with the increasing gas cost. Today I save 70 cent per gallon. $3.45 per gallon- deal! Thank you Safeways!

I mean the food is what you expect from any Safeway. It is junky and very unhealthy but I guess if that's what you're looking for then this place is great. From my experience the people were very nice and treated you like friends. Yeah there really is nothing more to add.

A week after this incident I went back to Safeway to the customer service counter and spoke to a nice older lady who has always been nice to me whenever I come to this Safeway. I explained the situation to her and she ran the gift card through the customer service register for 25 cents and confirmed it worked just fine... I asked a male Safeway director who walked up to ask what was going on, to ask Joanna (the Safeway director who I had an issue with during the incident) if Joanna could call me and apologize. No call was made to me. I also want to point out that corporate responding to my complaint was terrible. They kept saying the district manager would contact me, but they didn't contact me either. Seems like they just want to sweep it under the rug and pretend it didn't happen. I left a copy of my gift card printout that clearly says it was purchased from Bitrefil (Safeway gift card for $250) with my phone number written on it. I'm assuming Joanna just threw it into the trash. Thanks Safeway, and thanks corporate for no accountability.If corporate says the district manager will be reaching out to me but nobody reaches out, it makes me feel like corporate doesn't care.

Save your shopping points and use them to lower your per gallon price. Need to use a debit or credit card at the pump or if cash use with the inside cashier.

Aptos is like Los Gatos by the Sea but this Safeway makes it seem like San Jose by the Sea. It is like Night of the Living Homeless in the parking lot. Mexicans are slining food from the trunks of their cars. Also, there is pigeon crap and flies covering the entrance. Go inside and it is like a scene from The Hills Have Eyes!

(Gas station) This is the Safeway gas closest to my house and my least favorite one!! I always wait in the correct line. Because I know they only have it to lanes for one way in and two lanes for the other way, however, no one ever pays attention, but I patiently wait in the correct lines however, it seems like it doesn't matter and I'm the only nice person there is. It just causes a big traffic jam and it takes even longer. I would rather pay more money for gas then.

While on vacation, shopping at the store in Aptos, CA, at about 11:00am, my husband and I were in line with groceries and a 12 pack of White Claw. The checker, I can not describe her any further than she had a mask on and purple gloves, proceeded to ask for both my husband and myself, for our IDs, both of us being 40 years old. We showed no signs of being inebriated, nor showed any other signs of impairment. I did not have mine but my husband did and the checker proceeded to tell us that it is store policy to ask for two IDs- this is not posted anywhere in the store nor the law in the state of California. When the manager was called over, he said that whatever the checker said, is what goes. We did not complete our purchase and left the store without causing a disruption. This is unacceptable customer service and I will be reporting this store to the Alcohol and Beverage Commission.

Be attentive..I've been stalked/observed, photographed, and recorded throughout my entire visit inside, and even to my and home. ..I'd recommend not shopping here if you read labels, compare items, use the phone/app(or anything in your pocket periodically, are indecisive, injured, handicap, or take time. They'll call code 200 and 201. Most likely, they will label you and then share all they've obtained with other locations, so dont be surprised if you get extra odd attention by random shoppers. They most likely took off the apron just for you... They stalk and awkwardly shop next to you. Won't help when you have questions or need help, like a cart throughout your visit. I've always been curtious, kind, and polite and cautiously shop for my strict diet often. It's not acceptable to feel uncomfortable buying food while being judged and treated like a criminal. The DM and SM have been made aware after i experienced this for many visits. I've been fed up with it and can't take it as a joke any longer. Safeway creates a false narrative by b discriminating and judging your shopping presence. If they lived up to their name, a safe way to shop is providing quality over quantity, genuine assistance, and setting the standard on their knock-off brand! How i see it, instead of bulk buying questionable foods to charge unrealistic prices on while blaming the consumer due to high turnover(waste) that they've made. It'd be more welcoming if they were charging a reasonable rate, discounting*(and honoring the discout( or donating the food before it expires)..

Deli is terrible, ordered a hot Ruben sandwich. The sandwich was terrible as was the service. The only bread they had was everything bagel seasoned roll, they was basically no meat on the sandwich and it was supposed to be toasted. It was cold. The entire store smelled of urine. I won't go back.

So frustrating that this Aptos store uses all the customer carts to load all their display items on! Happens quite often. Hurt my back using a hand basket today. Asked a clerk walking by, with 2 empty carts, if I could have one. Told him my back was really hurting from carrying the hand basket. He just said "sorry, I need them for my display." I then repeated that my back was in a lot of pain and he said "sorry about that" and walked away with the carts. There were no carts outside anywhere, not even in the parking lot! All of them were in the aisles, filled with cereal, candy boxes, torn up boxes, etc. There were none for the customers and they were complaining. Can't Corporate supply the employees with long carts of their own?? One older clerk saw me standing there and finally emptied out a cart from display items and gave me the cart. My back has been hurting for several hours, from this fiasco. Some of the young employees and its' manager could care less about the paying customer at this Aptos store. I have been a customer for 50 years and have shopped all over the area, from Santa Cruz to Scott's Valley, Felton, and Watsonville and beyond. Never had a problem at any of those Safeway stores. Are you listening Corporate, or is it falling on deaf ears?

Oh lovely Lisa at customer service not so lovely and not so great at customer service I should've known better when I approach the register and she asked me what's up? I had two items from the bakery that I wanted to purchase but all the self check outs were closed due to maintenance and only two registers open with extremely long lines, I passed customer service thinking I could buy it there. I asked her if she could ring me up and she said well I really don't want to be stuck behind the register mmmk you work at a grocery store? So the whole time she was ringing me up she was complaining about how late the maintenance people were there for the self check blah blah blah that's all I heard! So the two items she rang me up for I paid and I was so sick of hearing everything she was saying I just said I don't need a receipt and she proceeds to tell me you should take your receipt if you don't want to toss it outside......what????? This woman is crazy and apparently really dislikes her job!

I want to send out another big THANK YOU to one of the employees at this Safeway. Her name is Karina and she is exceptional! I was looking for a specific type of cheese and saw her in the front packing out other cheeses. I asked her about it and she showed me one. Karina also said there were more down the aisle of 8 and 9 in the dairy section. I went to check it out but noticed one of the large refrigerator displays was out of order and the cheese I was looking for was nowhere to be found. So I went back to the front to get what Karina originally showed me and after asking me if I found any, she offered to go in the back to see if she can find the others. Amazing! Where can you find exceptional Customer Service like this these days? I told her if I had a business I would offer her a job immediately! I hope Safeway in Aptos recognizes how wonderful Karina is!!! Give her a raise! Thank you Karina!!!!
