You can always find all the necessary products of fresh quality. There is a pharmacy with the necessary drugs, there is a department with baby food and baby care products. The prices are affordable.

worst experience ever today at this safeway. apparently the power had been out for HOURS at this location but instead of closing the store they just kept it open. I wasn’t able to get food that I DESPERATELY needed from here and just ended up going somewhere else. WHO DECIDES TO KEEP A STORE OPEN WHEN THERES NO POWER????

It's not open 24 hours. The hours should be updated accordingly. Apparently it closes for an hour each morning when no sales can be made. I was not allowed to purchase products during this time.
Note: Updated rating due to fast response to my review. I still think hours need to be corrected so people don't think it's open 24 hours and make plans to go only to find it's closed.

Typical grocery store. Clean & we'll stocked. The store app was easy to use & saved me on several items. People I interacted with were Very Helpful. Seemed crowded because the aisles are a bit narrower than I'm use to.

Despite comments from managers referring complains to the Management Team, I have not seen customer service improvements over the four years that I have been shopping here. Staff is unfriendly, do not make eye contact, not a “hi, how are you doing”……..nothing!. The only time this employee said anything to me was when I was leaving, she handed me my receipt and said “here!” No thank you, no acknowledgment, not friendly. One time a check out person was too busy eating cake and talking to the bagger to run my groceries through. One time I asked a bagger how she was doing. Silence……… when she realized I was talking to her, she said “I’m so used to tuning people out.” Yikes!!!! I cringe when I go to this store not knowing what my experience will be. Ive recently started driving further for my groceries for a more positive and pleasant experience. Management Team, please train your staff to be more pleasant, make eye contact, smile and ask customers how their day is. Simple things like this can go a long way. It will also make the staff feel better about themselves. Smiles are contagious!

I have a service dog that I take in a dog stroller upon entering the store I was approached by an older man about how disgusting it was to have a dog in the store I proceeded to explain to him that it is a service dog I was on the phone with my daughter and she heard the whole conversation she called the store manger to make sure he wasn't bothering me she went above and beyond to ensure my safety I've been going to this store for years with no issues at all (with my dog )

It's one thing to say, "We take immense pride in offering world-class service, and will notify Leadership!" But it's a whole other step to actually implement it!!! This is the worst safeway in all of Santa Cruz. It was a pleasant store growing up shopping in up until recently with this new crowd you have running the front end. Not only are these new women terrible employees but they are down right mean, rude, and deserve an award for being the best at making customers feel extremely unwelcome in our own neighborhood grocery store that not only have I been shopping in my entire life but my whole family has also. Since this i now commute. Super disappointed!

Safeway kleenex. Safeway has now put their brand on the (Softly) kleenex and whenever that happens run do not walk away from that product. Bought 5 boxes of the Softly kleenex and since they have their brand on the box the way the kleenex is made has changed. So beware that they put two thin pieces of kleenex together and appears a machine crimps the edges to sell as one piece. Try using to remove makeup and the two kleenex pieces slide away from each other and you end up with one sheet completely shred in your hand. Maybe fine for blowing your nose but that is all.

usually i love this safeway because they stay open 24 hours but recently they have been randomly placing a sign that says they are waxing their floors and will not let you in. i do not care if you have to clean the store but at least update your hours so i don't drive out :(
