This is literally the worst store in all of Colusa county. Company only cares about its arbitrary metrics and corporate goals, not Arbuckle.
Manager Amrita is disrespectful, unfriendly, hostile, lacks common sense, is out of touch with customers’ needs, and creates a consistently unpleasant environment for the store. She couldn’t give less of a f about this town and making things more convenient for its people and serving them. All she cares about is keeping herself in her position of mediocrity at DG. She prefers to hire other unfriendly and arbitrarily-minded people ensuring that they also contribute to the unpleasant store vibe. Customers need to approach her more to address problems with the line, register, physical obstacles throughout the store, and urge her to put in some effort to retain quality employees who prioritize customers - rather than ones who nitpick DVDs. She is often seen outside vaping while customers and other employees suffer through the constant long line.
By the way, one of the people Amrita chose to be a Lead Associate/key holder has some sort of incredibly disturbing hygiene/BO issue and always reeks. Customers already complained about it to her and yet he remains primarily at the front register. Shows how much she cares for the shopping experience.
Even though this is a large immigrant community with the majority of customers being Spanish speakers, few employees at the Arbuckle DG speak the second-most common language of the USA. This is another telling sign that management doesn’t care to address basic customer concerns if they are not in English.
Go to the Colusa (13 miles away) or Williams (10 miles away) locations and you will not encounter any of the aforementioned issues. Amrita is the problem.

Long line because both self-checkouts are not in service. The strange thing is if line gets really long, employee will turn on self check out and assist customers. Why are they not left on? The people of Arbuckle believe it's to deter customers from leaving honest reviews of the store.

I like Dollar General stores, this is our local store and was remodeled a couple of years ago to add a small produce section and expand other sections ( making the aisles smaller and stacked to the roof) ? anyhoo this left a lot less area in the aisles because now Corporate is shipping in soooo much product that it frequently stacked in the aisles and you can't get into certain area because it's continuous used for storage. I don't blame the workers, they're constantly replenishing the shelves but there is just too much product from corporate, a profitable store but not convenient to shop in.

Aisles are cluttered. Only one self-checkout works, resulting in long lines. You have to use shopping carts because baskets were removed. Employees complete surveys for customers in self check-out without asking for permission and leave high ratings to manipulate surveys.

I'm giving 5 stars only because this is the only dollar general that I've been able to find Mt dew Maui Burst. Maui Burst is pineapple flavored. It's exclusive to dollar general stores only, but I've only seen it at this location.

When your coming from the city to a small town, you appreciate a store that has all the little things you need that were a step away in the city.This dollar general has almost anything you vould be looking for. Not everything is a dollar, prices are a little bit higher but all things considered this is a great store to shop at for convenience in a small town.Given the climate of the country, even though possibly short staff, customer service was still nice and respectful. There could be better organization of the store and items but again with the state of the country and most likely understaffed, they were doing a great job.Coming from a big city, this store is a one stop shop for minor basic things like laundry soap, cheese, bread, pet food or coffee.

Been coming here for a while and since the remodeling of the store the shelves are consistantly out of stock there's only one person check stand all of the rest or self check and the cigarette case has been broken for a week nice remodel liked the old way better.
