I came to this gym as a complete newbie to structured exercise and after four months of going and working with a trainer there, I feel much more confident in myself, my body's abilities, and so much stronger!! It's been so satisfying watching myself be able to lift more and more over the weeks. Everyone I've met at the gym has been so kind and helpful, and it's clearly a community of very friendly people. The owner Julie is super responsive and very helpful with scheduling, and my trainer Jesus was the perfect fit for what I needed! I really liked that we were able to have a very non-judgmental and lighthearted approach to learning the lifts while still being serious about getting things right. It was challenging but in a very fun way. Overall, if you're thinking about learning strength training or maybe getting into powerlifting I would highly recommend this gym! The setup is fantastic, and you could not ask for a nicer bunch of people.

A month in and I can confidently; this Gym is among the absolute best if not the best in all surrounding areas. Everything you need, and more. The true win is in the surrounding energy which is unmatched. 99% Pros and damn near less than 1% cons. Exceptional in every way

This is my first “small box” gym and I’m never going back to commercial gyms like golds or 24hrs.The vibe here is absolutely amazing with great art on walls and friendly people. You’ll love the gym if you love weight training, powerlifting, etc. They have everything you need when it comes to weights.Only one old treadmill which sucks but not a big deal just run outside. Most days there are < 10 people so you won’t have to wait for equipment. Overall great gym.

Definitely the best gym I've ever been a part of. Totally a family vibe where everyone will support you from day one. Facilities and equipment are top notch, and the trainers are outstanding. Can only give 99 Barbell my highest recommendation!

Amazing gym with top notch equipment! If you are looking a solid gym with really nice equipment, look no further! I was in town for Thanksgiving week and was able to sign up quickly online for a 1 week membership and was able to visit a few times during my stay in the Arcadia area. Suffice to say, I wish there was a gym like this near where I live in NorCal.This is the best strength training gym I've ever been to. Amazing equipment and the staff and members are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. The overall vibes and atmosphere was very motivating. 100% worth it!

99 Fitness is a great studio for new and experienced gym goers alike. You have to start with a scheduled tour around the gym before starting as a member, but they have many time points throughout the day. The staff are incredibly friendly, knowledgable, and equipped to handle any situation. The equipment itself is on par, if not better, than most gyms at this price range. Cleanliness is a big thing here; everyone wipes down after use. There is both an indoor and outdoor gym, but most of the lifting machines are inside. This place has something for everyone, and it has been a joy coming here! The best part is that everyone at some point will talk with the owner, who is super sweet and nice.

It took me so long to find a powerlifting gym near me but I finally found the one! It still takes me around 30 minutes to drive here but it's worth it because they have awesome equipment. They have power bars, deadlifting bars, deadlifting jacks, squat bars, women's bars, literally all the bars you need. The squat racks are also super sturdy and the deadlifting platforms are so nice! I've had experience using crappy equipment soooo... yeah it was so refreshing to use theirs. There's even an outside portion of the gym with all the essential equipment you need to workout just in case you want to be covid cautious. There's a bunch of bodybuilding equipment but there's also all the cardio machines you need. There's a stairmaster, a row machine, and a treadmill. The workout community here is also so supportive of one another and the people here go to the gym to go hard which motivates me to go even harder haha. I recommend checking this place out! A day pass is $20 and a month pass is $75! Definitely worth it!

I love Julie!!!! She's the owner also my personal trainer, I don't think she accepts anymore personal training clients but she's amazing! The other trainers there are just as good anyways. I love this gym so much, it's private and very clean. The people here are so much better than going to a corporate gym. I'm currently on a break cause I'm on vacation but I often think about my times here lmao. I miss it. I came in all flabby and no muscle on my butt, now I'm fit and my butt is too round I'm happy I took a break cause it was getting too big LOL 5 STARS TO THIS GYM AND STAFF. Also, gym shark rented out this gym one day ;) cool huh

Great gym to learn the art of muscle building. If you want to gain strength and build muscle this is the place to do it. Their equipment is tailored to lifting, a very niche place actually, you'll find equipment here for strenth training thats not avaliable in other gyms. I have a great time here, with the trainers, but if your already a seasoned weight lifter you'll find they have all the equipment you will need as well to train on your own. Very fair membership price for such a focused gym if your into hitting the weights hard.

I think this is the epitome of what a gym should be. It's not about the pool, jacuzzis etc but something simple, elegant and makes you feel like you have worked out when you are done. The reasons are listed below:1. Pricepoint: for the amenities that you get from the gym, the pricepoint of the gym is fantastic. You are not paying $100+ rather it is a little above $50. Fantastic price2. Equipment: this gym caters to everyone. True, it is built more with a powerlifter mindset but honestly even if you are a straight body builder, they have the equipment to cater to your needs. In addition to that, they have fantastic platforms for weightlifters and an assortment of bumper plates. In terms of squat racks, i would say they have those in abundance plus they have the little oly squat stands incase all the racks are taken. The owners of this gym have thought of everything.3. Ownership: i get the sense that this gym is a family business and everyone in the family really cares. And when i say everyone, i mean even the father( i presume) of the owner. They are super engaging and i see them walking around talking to members. Sometimes i even see the owners giving advice on form/equipment and infact they actually helped my girlfriend out when she needed some advice on equipment to use. Super engaging and a fun couple.4. Members: legit, the members in this gym must be the most hardworking people i have come across. They push weight and are super social. Am the kind of person that comes in and kinda just works out at the corner and generally likes to keep to himself so i really observe the community. And to be honest there is a community here. I will be honest though, i wish people wouldnt walk right infront of someone in the middle of a clean and j*** or snatch but honestly most gyms dont even know about that so i dont put it against them5. Organisation: there is an app where you can choose your timeslot for working out to prevent overcrowding. They give you sanitization bottles and little rags to clean your equipment when you are done. They have 2 gyms, outdoor and indoor. Its really well thought out and in terms of covid, with this org. i feel really safeThinking of a place to workout, honestly check this gym out.

Wow! This place has to be the cleanest gym I'm ever been to. The clients are incredibly conscientious about picking up after themselves, wearing masks, and wiping down equipment. The energy is great and the employees are helpful. Plenty of equipment, plates in both pounds and kilos, and both indoor and outdoor locations. The only downside is I live in west la and so I can't come here every day :(

Writing this as a powerlifter myself who goes here sometimes for SBD Saturdays. This place is a great private gym to go to and is one of the cleanest ones I've been to. They have all the bars you could ask for (squat, deadlift, power bars, etc...) This place deserves a 5 out of 5, every one of the employees and owners is so welcoming, I would give 99 Barbell a 4 but they only deserve a 5 for every review. My only reason for saying it could be a 4, is because I'd expect the vibes to be way better during Saturdays because Saturdays are always the best training days if you go to any other powerlifting gym like WARCAT or Exceed Performance they are always hyped and a lot of powerlifters train SBD on a Saturday. Great facility, with great squat racks, deadlift platforms, (could use more racks for benches) but the benches are still good, everyone here is nice and although I've never scheduled a training session with a PT, they seem very educated in what they're doing whenever I'm around them training their clients! This gym is really clean because of how everyone cleans the equipment themselves after using it which is a +1. They provide us with cleaning equipment to use and are also Olympic weightlifter friendly (they have platforms used for Olympic weightlifters to use the bumper plates :D). A lot of dumbbells up to 150lbs. Facility: (5/5) They have everything! (My photos include how many platforms they have for each lift, but they also have more platforms outside where you park!) Vibes: (3/5) meh. To me, the vibes and the people with who you're lifting are a very important part of an experience in a powerlifting gym. I want to hear people scream their lungs out whenever someones hitting above RPE 9. The music choices were good, had a lot of hardstyle :p Service: (5/5) GREAT! If you ever want to check out the gym, it's $20 and they work with you fast to get in a session for any day!
