I came to Arcata on a weekend get away from los angeles. On President's Day weekend. The credit Union is a member network with my credit union so I can use their ATM for free. I headed over to the ATM because I was going to the casino and wanted to get some money out before I go. I tried to take out $500 the ATM took my debit card away suspecting fraud. Now I am stuck here in Arcata with no money. No way to buy gas to get home. I understand you guys suspect fraud because I am out ot town but let me clear it up with my credit union. Don't take my card and leave me stranded. And it is a holiday weekend so all your branches are closed on Saturday.

Oh my GOSH!!! I LOVE THIS BANK SO MUCH!!! I was robbed via Apple Pay in another state, CCCU told me to file a police report, cops didn’t have enough to go off of so i went back to the folks at coast central and within a day they got me my money back!!!! I know this might not happen every time, but the fact i was able to go in and talk to a real compassionate team of people was so comforting. They took time to listen and went above and beyond to help me in the rough patch i was in. I cant even begin to express my gratitude. Absolutely amazing people every time. There’s no where else i trust as much as coast central, you guys are amazing, thank you so much!!!!!

Friendly tellers, but very lousy hours. 9:30 AM is far too late of an opening time. Almost every time they open there’s a long line. It’s impossible to stop by before work for me and impossible to make it before they close. Lousy hours.

This is for this specific location. New staff is rude af. Been coming here for years for personal and business, but because they "didn't recognize" me I was called out to remove my hood and hat while another customer kept his on. Pure bias and handled very poorly. I'll skip using this location from now on.

In this modern day, what could possibly close EVERY PART OF your bank to make upgrades for 4 days? Yes, FOUR DAYS. No branches open, no on-line banking, no customer service via phone.... Your own communication is conflicted, Does it start November 1 or 2? (See web page screen shot) Your message, when attempting to reach customer service, says service will be back on the 5th, while your site says the 4th, in the evening. An issue came up on Halloween, but your entire organization has evaporated until the 5th. Thanks for nothing. AND, whoever planned the timing, the 1st-5th? Really? Is there any other time of the month that people need their banks more? Way to think it through.

I banked here for five years and finally closed my account because I couldn't stand it anymore. Incompetent inexperienced tellers constantly making mistakes that cost me hundreds of dollars in penalties over time.

Clunky credit union with a sneaky penchant for raiding accounts with fees. Steer clear of this place. You're better off with a national bank that has more regulator scrutiny. I was told to open a personal account in order to open a joint account with my wife so I did. Later, I realize that they are charging monthly account fees on the personal account but not on the joint. Turns out the personal account was being charged fees because I never received a piece of mail announcing the fees. Spent half an hour on the phone with customer service and learned this is apparently a serious revenue stream for them and they have revenue retention supervisors that block refund requests for arbitrary reasons. What a bad experience!

First! Ha! Christian opened my account for me and I appreciate his help. Coast Central's banking app is a bit clunky and it displays the pending balance prominently and in a drop down menu shows the available balance: this is exactly backwards and lends itself to causing chaos if you are opening a new account. After a few successive returned online banking transactions I was back in the Arcata branch and Christian fixed the problem and educated me about that drop down menu I was not seeing. I heard a story about a local business that applied for a loan through Coast Central to get started. During the opening process they didn't have an income to qualify so Coast Central hired the applicants come in at night and shred documents and clean up in order to qualify for the loan. Service like that and a desire to join and support the community are why I decided to open my account with Coast Central.
