The Lady Anne is our favorite place to stay in Northern California. The hosts, Sam and Sharon, are delightful people that make our stay such a great experience every time. The house is an authentic Victorian home, with every bit of the charm and history you’d expect and hope for. Morning breakfasts are fantastic and interesting conversation is always on the menu. If you’re staying in Arcata, The Lady Anne is something you must experience.Rooms: There are many rooms to choose from, each with their own personality and vibe.Walkability: The Lady Anne is just a few short blocks from the Arcata Plaza, Wildberries (the best grocery store in Arcata), restaurants etc and is a short walk/drive to Redwood Park. Perfect location for visiting Arcata.Food & drinks: The breakfast served is delightful, especially for kids. Tasty edible flowers from the house garden often accompany the meal, which is a lot of fun and inevitably leads to interesting conversation at the table!

Probably the nicest place in Arcata. Featuring the most classic of Victorian architecture the rooms a spacious. Service is excellent and the location provides great views of Humboldt Bay and an easy walk to Cal Cal Poly. It's in a quiet neighborhood with parking.

One word: Wow! My partner and I went to college here together a few years ago. We always saw the Lady Anne standing impressively on the corner near the square and wanted to see the inside. Of course, we didn't have reason to until after moving away from the area. For Labor Day Weekend we decided on a spontaneous trip to see our old haunts! Sharon very gracefully fitted us in with our late notice even though they are super busy right now. We both love it! The inside is just what you would expect from a Victorian Inn: classy, antique, and Victorian! All the furniture is real wood and the carpet/rugs are patterned ornately.Downstairs there is a dining area and three different parlor rooms where you can hangout and do whatever. In our bedroom, we had this gorgeous four-poster bed in our room and a view of the bay. The mattress/bed was very comfortable and there was plenty of space for our things. The bathroom was clean and well-kept, and I appreciated the complimentary toiletries. We didn't try the breakfast (had other plans) so can't comment on that.Sharon was an incredibly kind, approachable, and accommodating hostess.Overall I would say if you have a thing for vintage/Victorian era things, and want to be close to downtown Arcata, you'll love this place. It was right up my alley!*Note: If you're someone who likes a hotel that is hospital-grade sanitary with white walls and modern appliances, just stay at the Marriott uptown. This stay is for people who like an inn that has personality!

Had a fantastic two day stay at Lady Anne. The hosts were very accommodating. We texted the hosts that we would arrive at 730 pm. The hosts were present at that time for check in and tour. They said we had only reserved the room for one night when it had been requested for two nights. Thankfully they were able to give a two night stay. It could have been a real problem. The hosts didn't send an confirmation email after the reservation was made. The bed was very comfortable. I think it was the largest room. The bathtub was delicious. Breakfast was pancakes, eggs, fruit, edible flowers and delicious coffee. Our hosts were very entertaining and friendly at check in and at breakfast. I'd definitely stay here again. Just make sure to get an email confirmation.

This is a very overdue review... My apologies to Sam and Sharon!!My wife and I spent the last night of our anniversary trip in the Lady Anne Victorian Inn. I found it while casually searching for lodging close to the Square (wife's request). The second I saw Lady Anne, I knew this is where we would be staying. Wife was able to book our stay the next day and she said it was a total breeze. We chose to stay in the Blue Room (each room has a different theme). After a very interesting camping trip on the beach for a few nights prior to our stay at Lady Anne, we were looking forward to our stay. Sam and Sharon were very friendly and greeted us at the entrance with smiles and "Welcome!"s. We got a run-down of guest operations and a small tour of the inside as we were led to our room. We absolutely loved the authenticity and decorations of not only our room, but the entire Inn. Sam and Sharon have done an incredible job of restoring the original beauty of Lady Anne and honoring the stories she's told while modernizing certain areas where needed. After an afternoon out, we returned to a lovely lit enclosed patio area and a cozy warm interior. The bed was almost "too" comfortable, especially after 3 nights on a deflating air mattress! But oh, was it nice to sleep on the clouds... I can't remember the material of the cover(s), but they were lightweight yet still kept us very warm. The next morning, we were greeted downstairs with much more than we had anticipated for breakfast. Warm, local pastries and rolls... hot, delicious coffee... fresh fruit... and these eggs that were absolutely decadent. I wanted to ask for seconds, but I didn't want to be rude to any guests who hadn't come down yet. Sam entertained us and another couple with some of his and his wife's stories of being Humboldt natives. When it came time to check out, they made sure we enjoyed our time, to which we exclaimed YES! Having known the area in which we were travelling back to, Sam had some alternate routes to recommend as to avoid the massive road work on the 299. **Sam, THANK YOU for the recommended directions of the 101 and across the 20!** We enjoyed a couple of small stops along the way in Clearlake as well.In all, this is a 10/10 recommendation and we are already looking forward to our next trip to Humboldt- we know where we will be staying!

Cozy bed & breakfast, comfortable and quiet accommodations. Innkeepers Sharon and Sam are warm and friendly hosts. Shops, restaurants and other points of interest are within convenient walking distance. The breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented with freshly-picked flowers and herbs from the garden. We would stay here again next time we visit Arcata.
