With an appointment, I was in and out in 20 minutes for a Real ID. Every worker I dealt with was so nice and friendly. Great DMV.

i arrived at 2:45pm and although there was a line outside, it’s honestly not the worst line I’ve seen at a dmv; it moved quickly !! the line is muuuch worse if you come at opening. keep water and a snack with you, and possibly sunscreen because it’s summer time. you might also have to park in the residential streets nearby. (it may be worth mentioning this is a tiny location).
*i made conversation w someone after I finally took my real id pic — she had better luck coming around 4pm and didn’t wait in the sun :-) thank you TAMALA for being the biggest sweetheart while helping me out !!! the security guards are also kind. some dmv employees can be so rude, but i got lucky <3

I came here cause I read the reviews and numerous people posted the wait wasn't to bad. I got here and it's the most crowded DMV I've ever been to, I even went online prior to arriving and got in the virtual line so I didn't have to check in when I got here to get in line.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience today. I arrived at 1 PM, and the front desk instructed me to complete the application online by scanning the document I had. I was then told to return once I had finished. The application provided the option to pay via Apple Pay, which I utilized. However, upon receiving the confirmation number and approaching the customer service counter, I encountered rudeness. The representative informed me that she could not process our ID application because the system requires 24 hours for completion. This situation is unacceptable; it should not allow payment if there are such delays. I have just exited the facility, and it is now 4 PM. Left without any help. Please fix this .

Literally EVERYONE was SO nice. Answered all.the questions and respectful and easy to talk to. I haven't visited dmv for.a long time (prob. 10+yrs) and remembering mean reps robot like but this DMV reps were beyond. I went in for daughter learner permit and warned her of limiting questions because they are mean but No. What an experience. Kudos to all the employees we came across today. I was afraid that review was low and didn't expect too.much but this was one of the best ever experience w all the dmv employees. Thank you for great experience for daughter's first DMV visit!

Van Nuys Facility is never client friendly pr updated. People are lined up under the 100F+ heat without any shade or Ac or heat in the winter.

They had us waste time in the driver line for 20 minutes, when we checked in they said the appointment was only to make a drivers license appointment in person ? So an appointment to make another appointment ?? Then we got back in line to make the appointment and they told us to go to the side and let them help other people first despite us waiting in the line and it being our turn. It was a lady named Cecilia I couldn’t read her tag and a security guard with an accent who gave us even worse instructions to get back in the line with a car. Joke of a dmv

Crowded waste of time, I had the wrong info for the kiosk! Walked out empty handed.

Today, July 1st, I spent over five hours at the Arleta DMV, enduring 89-degree heat with no shade or canopies. ( For me is ok )The line wrapped around the building, barely moving, with many elderly individuals struggling in the heat.
At 2:00 PM, just as I was about to enter the facility, the system crashed due to an isolated network issue. After wasting hours there, I went to the Van Nuys office instead.
The DMV needs to make significant improvements for the summer, such as providing adequate shade and hydration stations. They should also reconsider what services can be handled on-site versus online, given that many elderly people have difficulty using the website and kiosks. A dedicated fast lane for elderly and vulnerable individuals could be highly beneficial.
Additionally, it's clear that security at these facilities is lacking. Improving security measures would ensure a safer environment for everyone.
A security Audit wouldn't be out of the question.
While the staff is doing their best, the overall system needs restructuring to better serve the public, especially during extreme weather conditions. ✌?

After my number was called I went to one of the windows where the woman immediately made me felt stupid. She was very rude when I was doing my vision test. Kept yelling at me “NO”, every single time I got a line wrong. Telling me why didn’t I have glasses. Basically made me feel stupid for not knowing I was kind of blind. I got a serious headache from her attitude and her kind of just making me feel flustered and stressed for not being able to se the letters on. The screen.

This DMV ain't to bad. I was there from the time they opened a few things to do there and was done in about an hour.
I also noticed by the time i was finished and walking out that the line wasn't going out the door anymore. That being said, the line was going into the parking lot, then there was no line at all by around 9:00am.
I'd still rather deal with Winnetka DMV. The workers there are more friendly and more helpful.
