“This week, my wife and I had a glorious day hiking in Big Trees Park with the wonderful fall (dogwood, etc. ) colors and red woods. We then stayed at the Black Bear Inn – only about 3 miles from the park. What a GREAT Inn, grounds, and owners/staff! EVERTHING was perfect. The Inn is nestled in the woods and so peaceful and quiet. The Inn’s grand architecture includes a huge main room with huge wood beams and fireplace, bookshelves stuffed with good reads, wonderful paintings and other artwork, a piano, and views of the property. Our room was topnotch - so cozy with wonderful views of the woods, etc. The owner and great staff member are the best, and so attentive to any needs. The complimentary breakfast, and late afternoon food, and wine were “to die for.” We were made to feel at home and so comfortable. You cannot do better than this wonderful and stately Inn!”

“Great little lodge that is immaculately clean and well kept. The innkeepers are super friendly and helpful, but not intrusive. Location is top notch: few minutes from Big Trees State Park and a lake nearby too for swimming and non motorized kayaking/paddle. The rooms are updated with nice furnishings. Our room had a mini fridge, microwave and keurig coffee maker.

Nice touches include the solar panels on the roof, the fun seating, patio grill and fire pit area (not pictured), and smores kits available at reception. The back of the lodge is forested with a cornhole game. It was very quiet. Parking is included. Great place, we enjoyed our two night stay!”

“Review of Restaurant at Lake Alpine Lodge. We have been coming here since 2010 and it must be under new management. The deck is completely rebuilt, service was fast (order inside and they bring the food to your table) and the food was great!”

“We loved this place. We stayed twice and had a great time. The location is perfect, cute little townhouses. We loved going for a walk in the evening by the golf field. Rooms are cute too, just be ready to see not upgraded rooms. Kitchen appliances are new but not the furniture but we didn't really care since we weren't stayed all day inside. There is a lake about 10 minutes away which was fantastic and we got food on the way there, best burgers out there. They also have pool and jacuzzi inside their office. We enjoyed staying there.”
