These people are great. No BS and don't try and sell you crap you don't need. Bought a few guns here and never a bad experience. Long drive for us, but worth giving them our business.

The owner is so friendly & welcoming! We just pulled over after smiling at the name of his store on the sign, & ended up just shooting the breeze for 15 minutes about nothing & everything. He & his equally friendly buddy gave me & my son a perfect ending to a perfect day visiting the mountain, & we are thankful to them!

Some of the inventory has been there since it's opening. That's because the owner openly disrepects his employees and mocks his cutomers. Why own a gun store if you make fun of gun owners? Just ask him what he thinks about a new caliber or model and he'll admit he doesn't care about any of that stuff. Doesn't even like guns. Then ask him what angle he sharpens his knives at, and he may ban you from the store.

Emile and his son are very helpful, and kind. They helped me find everything I needed for a great price. Very welcoming and great selection of hunting supplies. Found all of the hunting stuff I needed for my trip would highly recommend checking this place out.

I've purchased a few 1911 from them and they are great to deal with. Emile and his wife are both friendly and honest. I drove all the way to Arnold to purchase a couple of hard to find custom 1911 from SF and I would go back again when I need to add to my collection.

If your looking for guns don't go to the rusty knife. He charges too much for everything, has very little respect for longtime locals, and will be dishonest when telling you the value of used guns.

A friend and I, who both have a thing for pocket knives, decided we'd stop by the Rusty Knife after we had driven by. The store has a big sofa, and people would just come by and chat it up. Emile, who has this store as part of his retirement plan, was unhurried, gracious and gave us great insights into knives. He gave me a tutorial on how to properly sharpen a knife, and how people often sharpen a knife incorrectly. He talked to my friend about the knives her father had given her, and lovingly looked her knife over. I bought a Keshaw knife, which had exactly the feel I was longing for (after my CRKT knife I always had on me and forgot to remove before a trip was taken by TSA). He had a fine selection and laid out a number of knives that he thought I'd like. He sharpened both of our knives to scalpel-like sharpness, all for free. Emile is a good guy who is more interested in your having a good experience with him and his family (who came in and out of the store) than he is on your buying one of his knives.

I decided I wanted to purchase a side arm for protection. First time gun owner. The guy were amazing. They showed me several pistols and showed me how to use them. I had a great experience and feel very excited about my purchase. So glad I chose to buy local. I would highly suggest buying from The Rusty Knife!

Arnold, CA No guns here at the moment, but lots of knives. The owner and son (I assume) were very nice. I though I might make a splurge on some French steak knives, but they were out of stock. We did find a nice gift for a friend, a beautiful wooden handle $30 French foldable mushroom knife with a little brush on the end, never seen one before, but saw it hanging on the magnetic knife rack and it caught my eye. The owner was so nice, he knew the knife was for a gift, placed it in the original box and wrapped it before we even had to ask... and all the while continued to chat with us. What a great little store, and a nice quick visit. Suport local small shops if possible!
