Our room was exactly like the posted photos and had plenty of space for my sister & I, since we only needed logding for 4 nights. The only bad thing I can say about the room is that the wooden covered walls were very very dusty.

Had a 3 night stay and was very pleased with our room. Lodge is centrally located for day trips - 3 miles from big trees park. Room has built-in blow dryer. Shampoo and soap provided. Small fridge. Microwave. Iron and small board provided upon request. Large screen TV and comfy bed. The only problem we had was with the noise from the wall air conditioning. I'm a light sleeper and it was too loud to leave on at night. The Lodge does not have a full time desk person only from 2om to 8pm so if you need anything try to request during that time. Guest clerk was super nice and very helpful and accommodating. There's also a nice porch with rockers where you can sit and enjoy some wine as well as outdoor patio area.
I would definitely return. Would have given 5 stars except if AC unit would have been quieter. Other than that 5 stars for everything else.

We needed a place to stay for several days spead over a couple of weeks, while having repairs done on our nearby summer house pending a sale. Our rooms were clean, beds very comfortable, and appointed with everything we needed - refrigerators, in-room coffee stations, TV, fast wifi. A nice outdoor courtyard with tables and chairs was right outside our rooms, very pleasant and quiet. Colleen and staff were so nice, very efficient and friendly. If we are ever back in that area and need a hotel, we'll stay at the Timberline.

We stayed at Timberline Lodge in March to enjoy the snow and visit Calaveras Big Trees State Park — both of which were amazing and super easy to access from the lodge. You really can’t beat the location if you’re planning to explore the area.
That said, the rooms left a lot to be desired. Ours was pretty small and not the cleanest. Definitely felt more “roughing it” than we expected for the price. If you’re just looking for a place to crash after a day outdoors and don’t mind some dust and tight quarters, it’ll do the job.

This was a great little stay! Super clean and charming room with toasty fire heater. Very quiet at night. Staff were friendly and very accommodating. The only thing that I took a star off for was due to location. There was virtually nowhere to go nearby to sit down and have a beer on a Wednesday evening. Brew pub was closed, nearby country club was way too loud so had to settle for (cute) little Mexican joint across the street. It worked out ok, but would have referred a bar atmosphere. Not a deal breaker!

This place was clean, quiet, and comfortable. It was a good value with lots of walkable dining options (excellent Mexican across the street). Water tasted good, pressure in the shower was strong, and the hot water was hot. Fireplace was super charming, too. Will be back.

Here’s an extended version of the 4-star review:
We recently stayed at Timberline Lodge and had a wonderful experience overall. The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable, with a rustic charm that fit perfectly with the mountain setting. The cozy decor, comfortable beds, and thoughtful touches like extra blankets and a coffee maker made it feel like a true retreat. We especially appreciated how quiet and relaxing the atmosphere was—it’s exactly what we were hoping for during our getaway.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating, always available to answer questions and provide recommendations for local activities. The location is fantastic, with easy access to hiking trails, nearby restaurants, and beautiful natural scenery. It’s a great base for exploring the area, whether you’re visiting in summer or winter.
The only reason we’re giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the Wi-Fi connection was a little unreliable, which made it tricky to stay connected when needed. Also, while the property is charming, a few minor updates could make it even better.
Overall, Timberline Lodge is a wonderful place to stay, and we wouldn’t hesitate to come back. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a cozy, relaxing getaway in the Arnold area!

We had a two night stay here on the way back from Markleeville. I highly recommend it
Clean, comfortable and quiet in our room which was toward the back of the lodge. There was a cozy space in back with tables and chairs and a fire pit should you want to bring your meal outside.
The room had a microwave and a refrigerator. The bathroom was stocked with shampoo and conditioner.
There are a number of restaurants in walking distance of the lodge.
Thank you Colleen (owner and host) for a lovely stay

Room was great, very clean. Walking distance to restaurants and White Pines lake. Short drive to Big Trees.
Nearby activities: Big Trees is a short drive up hwy 4. Lake in White Pines is 1 mile from lodge
Walkability: Short walk to White Pines with an amazing park, lake, and logging museum.
Food & drinks: Great options that are very close by. A great restaurant right across the street. The room had a mini fridge and microwave for your own food and drinks.
