Merrel Smog is a great place to bring your vehicle. I’ve been taking my truck here for years—my dad brings his truck, and we also bring our business van and my wife’s car for oil changes, brake jobs, and smog checks.
They always do the right thing. We had a small issue once where a seal got damaged during a repair—not a big deal—and they took care of it right away with honesty and professionalism.

“This early evening my son and I came in to inquire about getting a vale stem replacement for my daughter’s vehicle. I wasn’t certain if I had purchased the tires from this place of business/company or if it was from somewhere else. The person who assisted me was Doug.
Upon have a pleasant discussion with Doug, fortunately I had purchased my daughters tires from them. Doug was very helpful by taking the time to listen to my concerns, questions and was able to help take care of them.

Last week my car started making this LOUD noise out of the blue. Some of my car family said it sounded like it was coming from the engine, I dreaded knowing what was wrong but it was way too concerning to just let be.
My go-to mechanic said he was pretty sure it was a flex plate issue, which unfortunately wasn’t something he could do, as it required removing the transmission. He recommended I go to Transmission Plus! I spoke with Zack and immediately he and the shop were able to give me a quote and diagnose the issue. They worked so quickly to remove the transmission and replace the flex plate. I am genuinely so thankful. My car is absolutely needed for work and family life, I still can’t believe such a big issue was resolved in far less than a week. I didn’t even have time off from work to bring it in-person and they still handled things no problem. The time they saved me is so valuable, not to mention the incredible job done. Thank you Zack and the team for all your hard work and communicating with me each step of the way! They even matched my original quote even though they did end up working several hours longer on it. That was unbelievably kind of them. Thank you guys again.
10/10 I really recommend this place if you have a big or minor car issue and you need it fixed properly and timely. They were also super friendly, I even got to keep the cracked flex plate! “Martin did what he said he’d do when he said he’d do it. Price was quoted when I dropped my Toro Snow Blower off to him for repair. A gear in the transmission was broken. At pick up, he charged me less than was originally quoted. In addition to the main repair, Martin checked all oil and fluids adding to the gearbox which was low and got it purring again. Thank you Martin! Just in time for the storm this weekend as well!”
