We rented two units at Central Coast Storage for our move to Arroyo Grande. The units were competitively priced and the rental incentives made the price especially attractive. The manager, Sammie, was a shining star in an otherwise tumultuous moving experience. She went far beyond the call of duty to ensure everything went smoothly with our locker rentals despite starts, stops and changes in our moving schedule. If you are moving, call Sammie at Central Coast and be assured that storage rental is one area you will not have to worry about.

Based on the other reviews, I scheduled a move-in date online. However, I'm not impressed with the customer onboarding process so far, and that has me wondering whether this may have been a mistake. Several yellow flags: - I used the web form to schedule a move-in, successfully, and got a confirmation. And then only later realized that it had confirmed me for a day when the office isn't even open. Whaaat? How would someone do a move-in when no one's there? (And why would their system allow that? It's a customer experience waiting to fail -- and apparently, it has.) - The prominently-advertised web promotion (of a free 2nd month and free truck rental) showed up in the email response as: "Click here to receive coupon - See manager for details." ... but in plain text, no hyperlink, and so, no "here" to click on. So I still have no idea what the "details" are, or whether I'd get that much-promoted special. Right out of the gate, I feel strung along. - The website seems to obfuscate the difference between the web-only rates, vs. the regular rental prices (mainly because it conspicuously avoids showing the regular prices). It's also not clear whether the reservation I have will be good for those prices, if I reserve online and do the paperwork in person. (Yes, I did read the fine print.) So the prospect of showing up with a confirmed web reservation, only to be told that the advertised price somehow doesn't apply is disconcerting. If so, it'd be like a bait & switch. Of course, I won't know until I'm there, but the uncertainty itself is unnerving. - The web form insists on getting a *Mobile* phone number. They're certainly entitled (and I would want them to have) a current contact phone number -- but it's up to me which one I provide. So there's some arrogance there. (Unfortunately, the obsession with insisting on mobile numbers has become all too common, because most people simply do what they're told.) So the business might turn out to be highly-reputable ... but these don't seem like tactics that reputable businesses use. And it's possible the actual move-in and rental will go very smoothly -- that, I'm waiting to see. If so, I'll update this review. So far, though, I don't have a great feeling about this. You know what they say about first impressions ... ~ EDIT (9/2/21): I just tried to change the reservation date online. And while it accepts a reservation #, it doesn't allow those changes -- it will only "Convert to a Rental". So the website is single-mindedly fixated on "the sale" or "upsell" (which means if it were a person, it'd be just another pushy salesperson.) Still not impressed. :/ ~ EDIT (9/7/21): We did follow up by visiting the facility, and were quite satisfied with the experience in person. Sammie is very friendly, patiently answered all our questions, and made us feel completely at ease; she's a great asset to the company -- much more than the website is. So now I feel secure with the facility itself, and we may indeed be customers for years to come. I'm going to leave the rating as-is, however, since our first impressions (via the web onboarding experience) were negative overall, for the various reasons stated earlier. Hopefully the owner(s) will see the review and make constructive changes accordingly, to improve that experience for others in the future. [If there's a takeaway for customers, it might be to place the initial reservation online, and then just call to confirm and to make any changes -- thus avoiding the debacle of attempting those on the web.] :/

This place is great. I used this place to store my stuff for about 8 months between moves. Very clean and secure. Sammie, the manger, made opening and closing the unit super easy—and was always friendly and professional. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for storage.

I can't say enough good about this place. First we fell in love with the previous manager Gina and now that Sammie is here we are still as pleased as the day we put our stuff here! Sammie is helpful, kind, sincere and funny to boot. When we were in danger of losing our belongings due to financial issues. Sammie made it a point to call me and remind me to make a payment as soon as possible and saved me a LOT of headaches!

Well so looks like I'm writing two reviews because I didn't log into my account. Sorry, still going five stars strong because of Sammies great service and KINDNESS. I hope she gets a the appreciation and acknowledgment she deserves from the owners, myself as well as my friends who I've recommended all are enjoying knowing our belongings are secure and local. My extra large unit worked out perfectly for my two phase house move. The overall facility was clean and secure. I found the staff friendly, attentive to my needs and provided excellent customer service throughout my stay. Additionally I rented their moving truck which made logistics much easier then having to go elsewhere. I can honestly highly recommend Central Coast Self Storage!!

Always friendly service. There was a glitch one time with the gate not opening to let me out. I called the service line and was connected right away for help. I unlocked the gate I pushed it open and drove out. It was quick and easy. I highly recommend them because place is always clean too!

Sammie the manager is professional and very service oriented. We rented a unit for 4 years and it was always secure and the entire facility clean. In addition when we were moving out of the area, Sammie made the process easy and was very helpful in coordinating the process of moving. Great place and manager and I highly recommend it and commend Sammie!

Sammie the manager, is such an amazing lady! So friendly and helpful. Made my first time Experience So great that I came back again! And will probably always use this storage facility due to how helpful and kind she was. Moving is stressful and she was so understanding!
