MEA Wine is a terrific boutique winery and tasting room on the Central Coast, offering an amazing and special experience that is not a normal wine tasting. The pleasant, comfortable setting feels like home. The winery offers expertly crafted, delicious wines, including excellent single varietal, classic, and more adventurous blendings. Favorites mentioned include the Albariño, Tempranillo, Garnacha, and the amazing, well-balanced 2022 Vermentino. The hosts are welcoming, lovely, and happy to share their wine-making ideas, providing a tremendous amount of context. They describe the inspiration and journey for each wine, their spirit of experimentation, and the attributes that make their wines distinctive. The overall experience is great and entertaining, with something for everyone. Many visitors name it their favorite winery of a trip, join the wine club, and plan to return, recommending it be on any Central Coast itinerary.
We visited MEA last weekend on a Trip out to CA. John was pouring the wine himself and providing tremendous amount of context how he was approaching each of the wines served. Overall a great experience.
