The Carlton Hotel is a historic, vintage, and upscale property located in the heart of downtown Atascadero. The hotel is beautifully maintained with an aesthetic, classic feel, wonderful period furniture, and lovely light fixtures. Guests describe it as a little historic gem that feels elevated. The rooms are quite lovely, comfortable, and clean, featuring beautiful bathrooms, comfy beds, relaxing shower tubs, and in some rooms, a Jacuzzi tub. Amenities like coffee and a refrigerator are provided. The cleanliness is consistently rated highly, with excellent housekeeping, though some note the carpet can appear worn.
The staff is consistently praised as incredibly helpful, friendly, attentive, and accommodating. They are committed to providing a memorable visit and quickly remedy any issues that arise. The location is perfect, situated right in the middle of the cute and pretty downtown, offering great walkability to local shops, restaurants, entertainment, a movie theatre, and a park. It is also noted as very secure and is positioned conveniently between SLO and Paso Robles for easy travel. The hotel is recommended for a getaway, a group event, or a work function. Many guests express they would definitely stay again, return, and highly recommend it.
Decent, nicely decorated and well located hotel. Minor points off for impractical room layout issues (no easily accessible electrical outlets by the bedside stand), and gross coffee machine choice (Keurig?! Really?!)

Beautiful hotel to be with your wife and family. I was on a business trip 😢, for sure I will come back with my wife. Everything is amazing, service is outstanding. I will say it, even though I don't say it very often, the service and the value is by far greater than what you pay. Good job!

Wow, pleasantly surprised! Totally renovated and refurbished hotel. Staff helpful and with a positive demeanor. Near various good restaurants and bars. Rooms are very well appointed and comfy. Decor is spot on. I suggest a second floor courtyard room.
