“Beautiful grounds and outstanding V.I.P. service! The staff is very attentive, the food is exquisite and the menu has a lot of variety. Definately a 5 star country club!”
“The Guild is the best small venue theater outside San Francisco. Tiny venue, good drinks, nice facilities, two bars, helpful staff. Only downside is they need more non- cover bands to come through.”
“Impressing manor with large and beautiful gardens. So many well furnished rooms! Many kitchens with different rooms for cooking different products! And a safe for the silver cutlery ? Such a big domain needing at least 10 bedrooms for staff! Nice places indoor and outdoors to be rented for events. We had online tickets including parking for one car.”
“The employees in banqueting are amazing. Shout out to Jose, you know which one i mean. I worked a wedding and this staff was efficient and supportive. They worked well and were very friendly. The food was amazing. The venue is so special. Beautiful areas and architecture. I really can't say enough about the staff and beauty of this place. The gelato service didn't come. The venue broth out vanilla ice cream and mango sorbet without missing a beat. Guests never knew there was an issue. True professionals.”
“This is an excellent museum, but some exhibits are better than others. The overall goal is to explore the history and culture of the county, and this they do quite well, especially in the exhibits downstairs. The object theater in the exhibit on housing in the county is especially fun and clear. Divided into three sections- great estates, pre-war housing, and the post-war boom, the lighting, videos and narration really brings the history to life.
A far less successful exhibit is the one on innovators on the second floor. This is a pixelated exhibition in the unfortunate new museum fashion. By that I mean that it’s a heap of objects with minimal to no narrative structure. If you’re looking for a history of Silicon Valley, go to the Los Altos Museum. The exhibit here will mostly be interesting to relatives of those whose innovations were chosen.
Overall, though, the museum is absolutely worth a visit. It successfully connected with the history of the building, bringing in the stories of the courthouse and law enforcement.
The exhibit on native Americans was quite good. It didn’t shy away from the violence of the mission system.
The exhibit on roads and means of communication was also excellent.
Anyone interested in the history of the peninsula would do well to stop by. The gift shop is great too.”
“CuriOdyssey is a hidden gem for families in the Bay Area, offering a perfect blend of hands-on science exhibits and close-up wildlife encounters designed especially for younger kids. Nestled within the scenic Coyote Point Recreation Area, this science museum and zoo creates an engaging, low-stress environment where children can explore everything from magnetic walls and light experiments to playful otters and native California animals. The exhibits are thoughtfully designed to encourage curiosity and interaction, making learning feel like play. Highlights include the immersive ViewPoint exhibit hall, the inclusive Whooosh! Playground, and daily animal feedings that captivate both kids and adults.
It’s an ideal half-day adventure that feels both educational and entertaining, with plenty of outdoor space to picnic, roam, or watch planes fly overhead. The compact layout makes it easy to navigate with toddlers, while older kids can still find plenty to enjoy. Whether you're visiting for the first time or returning like many do, CuriOdyssey offers a refreshing alternative to larger, overwhelming science centers—and definitely earns a repeat visit.”
“We had a great day here, with very good wines and sandwiches and pizzas with a large group of friends, outdoors.
Car museum indoors also hosts customers.”
“My experience at Auto Vino yesterday was absolutely incredible. It was our first time and Inge was there to greet us and made us feel SO welcomed. She also had a plethora of treats, water and lots of lovin' for my dog Maggie!
We did a wine tasting and ordered pizza and the wood fired wings, all of which was insanely delicious! I will definitely be trying the salmon salad as I saw a few people order it and it looked incredible!
My mom has been telling me about this place for awhile and I can't believe it took me so long to come here, I will be a repeat customer for SURE! The chef even gave us leftover dough as they were closing for the day and I cannot wait to recreate something at home!
I didn't catch the names of the other staff members who were there yesterday but every single person was SO kind and went above and beyond for us. I kept hearing about the famous Daisey and I'm so excited to go back when she's there!
I just adore the sense of community at Auto Vino so thank you to everyone for such a lovely Sunday Funday!”

“We hosted out-of-town guests for our son‘s wedding at the Stanford Park Hotel. They were so impressed by the beautiful facility and incredibly helpful and friendly staff.”
“This was my first time at the Elks Club in San Mateo. I attended an afternoon luncheon with about 50 family members in their banquet room which was bright and cozy, and a very nice place for a party, wedding reception, etc. There is ample parking in the parking lot and on the street. The food served was delicious and the service was top notched.”
“This place is great! The staff are super friendly, and the wines are incredible. The tastings always showcase something unique and I always learn something new. One staff member (Kyle) even sent me a list of resources for wine education, which I’ve since found invaluable. Whether you are looking for a specific wine or just want to expand your palette and do some tasting, I can’t recommend this place enough.”
“This park is great and there is something for all ages to enjoy. I like hiking, bird watching, and photography, and I can all enjoy them here. There are restaurants and parking spaces here. Many people enjoy sailing and kayaking here. Watching them play is very eye-catching. If I have time, I would like to come here to play.”
“I’ve been to this park many times but never really noticed this house. Today I finally stopped to read the story behind it, about a German immigrant who built his life here through hard work and vision. It’s such an inspiring reminder of how much courage it took to start a new life back then.”

“I have to say that I came in with high expectations that were not met, but overall the experience was still very good. I was under the impression that the faculty club would have a bit more of a luxurious vibe to it and feature interesting cuisines, but the reality is more of a log cabin vibe with standard fare. It's a nice space sure, but it doesn't live up to the hype. My burger was solid & so was my lemonade, but I wouldn't make it a point to come back. Amazing service though!”
“We chose this place for my daughter’s birthday party, and it was amazing. The kids had so much fun creating and painting their own pictures.
Everything was very well organized, and the professional artist guided the activities smoothly so every child could participate and enjoy the process.
Pizza and cake time was also perfectly arranged. Thank you for making the celebration so easy and enjoyable. I highly recommend this place!”

“Adas is a small restaurant attached to library. Coffee tea and snacks best. They do have quich, sandwiches, empanadas that are good but they don't seem to be able to warm them up. They do have good pies and other desserts. They employ disabled people who do a great job serving people. They are very quick and always happy.”
“Alpine Hills Tennis & Swimming is an exceptional club that exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the professionalism and warmth of the staff. The service attitude here is outstanding—every staff member I encountered was friendly, attentive, and eager to assist. They truly go above and beyond to ensure members and guests have a positive experience.
The food at the club is equally remarkable. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the meals served here. Every dish I tried was not only delicious but also thoughtfully prepared and well-presented. The portions are generous, making it great value for the price. Whether you’re enjoying a post-tennis lunch or a casual family dinner, the menu offers something for everyone, with a focus on fresh ingredients and bold flavors.
The overall ambiance of the club is relaxed yet refined, creating the perfect setting for both leisure and sports. Whether you’re here for tennis, swimming, or simply to enjoy the excellent dining, Alpine Hills provides a top-notch experience. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a welcoming and well-managed facility that excels in both service and quality.”

“Stayed here for New Year's Eve for a staycation. I choose a one bedroom suite, and it was very nice. Spacious, comfortable, and nice amenities. Quite a hike from the elevator, and my key card didn't work when I first got to the room, so I had to make the trek back to the front desk. But that got sorted out. Access to the Stevens Creek Trail is nice for a walk. I know this is primarily a hotel for business travel given its proximity to several tech companies, and I think I'd be very comfortable staying here for work.”
“One of my Favorite Unique spots to DJ at in the Peninsula. So much to see and such an amazing ambience. The team that works there is amazing too. Very interactive and help make the experience even better. A Must See Place for your next company or private event.

“My wife and I were married at the San Mateo Arboretum in June of 2019, it just occurred to me I should post a review! We were very happy with the venue, we had the wedding out in the garden with about 52 people. We used the Pump House to stage things, and had the buffet tables outside. We were able to bring in a catering truck with a pizza oven, and the caterer provided the servers to stage the food and serve the drinks. Our contact helped us with the logistics and was there for the event, when there was an issue with another event in the park blocking the access she quickly worked it out with them and got the path cleared. There are some limitations to work with: no real kitchen for cooking, no dishwashing, and the interior would be cramped for 45 people, so hope for clear weather and bring a mobile caterer. Don't expect to play really loud music or have a big dance party on the grass. But for a small low-key wedding the garden is fantastic, and makes a wonderful backdrop. The price is very affordable, and we were able to book it with 4 months notice, so it was a very good option for us... Highly recommended if it fits your needs!”
“This place was amazing! The service was barr none.

“Great people wonderful exotic plants ( grown locally so the shock of being growing up in a different region doesn't ruin the current flowering and adapting quickly) I showed up as they were closing and just the little time I spent and small portion of what was available that I viewed were enough to cause me to leave with my arms full .”
“We rented the ballroom for a function. It was the perfect setting with the main room brightly lit with natural light, a stage for our performance and speeches, a foyer for greeting guests.”
“Terrific staff at a very fun movie theater! The staff are so kind and went out of their way to help us with a ticket problem ? Great audio, HUGE screens, and lots of happy people out having a great movie time ? Recommend checking out their Movie Club deal. Best theater in the peninsula!”

“Very clear and well structured cinema. Friendly staff who tried very hard and gave me a cinema poster for free, even though there was no free gift with the film. Large selection of drinks, snacks etc., just take what you want and then go to the checkout counter.”
“Monday night ecstatic dance is fun. A nice place to dance without having to deal with drunk people, and having lots of space to spin around. There's a hippy/yoga vibe, but there is no pressure to become part of a cult. You just dance and dance until it is over. And you can dance like no one is watching, because people are really not watching. The custom is to dance without shoes and there is no socializing on the dance floor. You are free to lie on the floor and writhe around. The music varies depending on the DJ, but usually the music ramps up slowly allowing you to warm up. The sound is not ear bleeding loud, but it is a reasonably clean sound system. Could have a bit more bass.”
“We love bringing our kids to this park! There’s a nice walking path around most of the park, the playground is nice for our small kids, and there’s a large open field nearby as well.
One of our favorite things is to walk over to the Atherton public library (5 mins), grab a pastry at their cafe, and let our kids read and explore the library. Sometimes it’s a nice winding-down activity for them.”
